When the owners of a Midwest lake front home removed a kitchen wall, it created an open area with breath taking views of the lake. They compromised on the finish of the cabinetry. The island and open shelves in the dining area are natural walnut, while the rest of the cabinetry is painted Sherwin Williams Pure White. The wood floor tones flow with the colors of the cabinetry and granite tops. Wooden backs on the bar stools tie in with the walnut island which holds a microwave drawer, and water and food bowls for the family dog. A dish peg system is in a wide drawer with a spice pull out between it and the slide in range with a chimney hood. The dining room wall of cabinetry has ample pantry and broom storage along with cabinets featuring X-lite mullions and mirrored back splash.

This customer made the very smart choice of enjoying their remodeling efforts a few years before selling it. In addition to the kitchen being outdated, it also was lacking in storage and also a feeling of being a little "closed in". Our solution was to remove all of the upper soffits/fur-downs to be replaced with taller upper cabinets, gaining considerably more storage. Additionally, we removed the upper bar on the peninsula countertop opening the room to the living room, bringing more light and a profound feeling of openness and inclusivity!
