A traditional style master bath for a lovely couple on Harbour Island in Oxnard. Once a dark and drab space, now light and airy to go with their breathtaking ocean views!

Walls with thick plaster arches and simple tile designs feel very natural and earthy in the warm Southern California sun. Terra cotta floor tiles are stained to mimic very old tile inside and outside in the Spanish courtyard shaded by a 'new' old olive tree. The outdoor plaster and brick fireplace has touches of antique Indian and Moroccan items. An outdoor garden shower graces the exterior of the master bath with freestanding white tub- while taking advantage of the warm Ojai summers. The open kitchen design includes all natural stone counters of white marble, a large range with a plaster range hood and custom hand painted tile on the back splash. Wood burning fireplaces with iron doors, great rooms with hand scraped wide walnut planks in this delightful stay cool home. The reconfiguration of the master bathroom opened up the space by pairing a platform shower with a freestanding tub. The open shower, wall-hung vanity, and wall-hung water closet create continuous flooring and an expansive feeling. The result is a welcoming space with a calming aesthetic.

This custom mural wrapped around a good portion of the kitchen and we managed to fit it in all the nooks and crannies! Love the contrast between the granite countertops and the dark wood cabinets.

The challenge for this project was that, while the homeowner desired all of the luxury amenities of a deluxe master bath, space was extremely limited. Therefore efficient space planning was critical in achieving the final design. Use of custom painted cabinetry and carrara marble countertops were the basis for this compact yet luxurious bathroom design. Careful attention was given to the tone of the finishes in order to keep this eastern-exposure bathroom light and bright. White trim and crown moulding was used in contrast to the putty colored walls. In keeping with the era of the home, a hand-glazed white ceramic subway tile was used in the soaking tub alcove. Nickel plated bath, lavatory, tub and shower fixtures in the vintage style were used alongside modern amenities such as recessed halogen lighting, electric towel warmers and radiant-heated tile flooring.

This kitchen’s airy transitional design is accentuated by a classic offset pattern of lustrous 2x4 Ceramic Tile in Mist stretching across the wall and into the dining nook. Christian Daw Designs made sure no detail was overlooked with matching 1x6 Quarter Round trim framing the kitchen window and tiled corners. An open kitchen focused on views of the San Francisco bay is designed to allow for multiple cooks at the same time. Easy to clean Caesarstone counters and walnut cabinets work well with the Thermador appliances and sculptural backsplash tile.

Working in lots of detail without overwhelming this not so large space was the challenge in this kitchen renovation. Showplace Wood Products inset cabinetry and Silestone Lyra polished counter tops provided just the right touch of charm along with useful features. This small farmhouse kitchen design was achieved by utilizing ceramic tile backsplash, light hardwood flooring, engineered quartz and a farmhouse sink.

In this kitchen, we updated the existing cabinets with new bronze pulls and knobs hardware. Installed for the countertops are a natural stone Giallo Fiorito 3cm Granite with a small ogee edge profile and Durango 4x4 tumbled decorative tile with Accents Bliss Crème Brulee blend linear glass/stone mosaic tile was used for the backsplash. Also installed was a Blanco Café Brown Undermount sink accented with Moen Arbour stainless steel faucet.

Warm and cool tones, wood and metallic surfaces and light and dark materials contrast nicely to give a warm earthy feel to this condo renovation in Burlington VT.

Complete bathroom remodel Summer 2013. This bath offers generous space without going overboard in square footage. The homeowner chose to go with a large double vanity, a nice shower with custom features a shower seat. We decided to keep the existing tub and deck it with carrara marble. The vanity area shown in this photo has plenty of storage for bathroom appliances in the tower. Below the mirrored wall cabinets we added a open towel storage space below. The mirrors were cased out with the matching woodwork, crown detail and carrara tile mosaics on each side. The countertop is Carrara slab marble with undermount Marzi sinks. The Kallista faucets are wall mounted, we was chosen in chrome since it was an easier finish to maintain for years to come. The floor tile is a 20 x 20 Silver Strand with a Carrara Marble strip set in straight. The backsplash to the vanity is the companion carrara mosaic random. Vaulted ceilings add to the dramatic feel of this bath. The polished nickel Restoration glass globe chandelier also adds to the dramatic glamor of the bath. The shower has three zones function, with a polished gray porcelain tile, mixed with split face white marble and carrara marble mosaics. This luxury bath sets its residence in Houston Texas.
