This luxury kitchen remodel in Glenmoore, Pennsylvania blends classic craftsmanship with modern functionality to create a bright and elegant gathering space at the heart of the home. Designed and built by Craftsworth Construction, this Chester County kitchen renovation transforms a traditional layout into a refined open-concept kitchen with custom cabinetry, layered lighting, and high-end finishes throughout. The design centers around a stunning two-tone kitchen island featuring rich gray cabinetry paired with a dramatic waterfall quartz countertop. The island incorporates a built-in gas cooktop, microwave drawer, and bar seating, creating a functional centerpiece ideal for cooking, entertaining, and everyday living. Surrounding the island, custom white shaker cabinetry extends to the ceiling, maximizing storage while maintaining a timeless aesthetic. Glass-front display cabinets with integrated lighting showcase decorative pieces and dishware, adding depth and visual interest to the kitchen design. Warm brushed brass hardware and fixtures bring a sophisticated contrast against the bright cabinetry and help tie the entire space together. A clean herringbone tile backsplash runs throughout the perimeter cabinetry and preparation areas, providing subtle texture while complementing the neutral color palette. Under-cabinet lighting highlights the pattern and enhances the warm glow of the display cabinets above. In true Arts & Crafts style, this kitchen and mudroom project is packed with details of custom craftsmanship, architectural elements and hidden conveniences that make it more than meets-the-eye. For the designer, the goal was to create a seamless flow between the kitchen, mudroom and dining areas to create a home meant for gathering children and grandchildren. Inspired by the family’s love for baking, their curated collectibles and the stained-glass artwork they brought with them from Colorado, the homeowners choose Weston Recessed with a Vintage Baltic Sea finish for their cabinetry. Warm materials, layered lighting, and personal touches help the kitchen feel inviting, while thoughtfully placed work zones allow multiple people to be in the space without it feeling crowded. This includes a dedicated baker’s zone anchoring the left side of the kitchen, complete with an integrated mixer cabinet and adjacent oven storage; and a tea center with integrated cabinet lighting concealed behind pocket doors that lights up when the doors are open. Every cabinet was considered with purpose – specialized storage features like a swing out spice cabinet, cleaning supply storage cabinet, and thoughtful adjustments for the homeowners’ height including a pull-out step stool, making it easier to reach cabinets above. Wood-Mode’s precision craftsmanship and quality are on display, with attention to detail seen in the smooth finish of the custom range hood finished in Driftwood with Espresso glaze on maple. The adjoining mudroom is a full-service area with built-in bench seating with toe-kick lighting and architectural details like wood corbels and floor to ceiling cabinets to store outerwear for every season of the year. Layer different light sources—ambient, task, and accent lighting—around the room to highlight key design elements like a statement rug, artwork, or your favorite furniture.

Project Feature in: Luxe Magazine & Luxury Living Brickell From skiing in the Swiss Alps to water sports in Key Biscayne, a relocation for a Chilean couple with three small children was a sea change. “They’re probably the most opposite places in the world,” says the husband about moving from Switzerland to Miami. The couple fell in love with a tropical modern house in Key Biscayne with architecture by Marta Zubillaga and Juan Jose Zubillaga of Zubillaga Design. The white-stucco home with horizontal planks of red cedar had them at hello due to the open interiors kept bright and airy with limestone and marble plus an abundance of windows. “The light,” the husband says, “is something we loved.” While in Miami on an overseas trip, the wife met with designer Maite Granda, whose style she had seen and liked online. For their interview, the homeowner brought along a photo book she created that essentially offered a roadmap to their family with profiles, likes, sports, and hobbies to navigate through the design. They immediately clicked, and Granda’s passion for designing children’s rooms was a value-added perk that the mother of three appreciated. “She painted a picture for me of each of the kids,” recalls Granda. “She said, ‘My boy is very creative—always building; he loves Legos. My oldest girl is very artistic— always dressing up in costumes, and she likes to sing. Inspiration for a large contemporary formal and open concept brown floor and medium tone wood floor living room remodel in Sacramento with blue walls, a ribbon fireplace, a wall-mounted tv and a plaster fireplace

The goal of this remodel was to add fun and function to this modest 2,500SF home. The kitchen’s flat ceiling was peeled away leaving custom RGB illuminated light monitors. The monitors add a dynamic colored layer of indirect light to the kitchen. Accent lighting triplets illuminate the breakfast table to make centerpieces pop while providing ample lighting for homework and reading the newspaper. The remaining downlights raise the level of general lighting in the kitchen. Lighting controls provide access to individual dimming of the 8 lighting loads in the kitchen as well as scene control for ease of access to the preset levels. In the foreground an LED strip washes the face of the bar front, illuminating the barstools and bringing light down to the human level. Ambient lighting is achieved through indirect lighting on top of the cabinets and task lighting floats down onto the counter and sink from a modern sconce and linear LED undercabinet lighting.
