Designed for a family who is relocating back to California, this contemporary residence sits atop a severely steep site in the community of Las Ventanas. Working with the topography led to some creative design solutions, structurally and aesthetically, to accommodate all of the family’s programatic needs. The 4127 s.f. home fits into the relatively small building footprint while an infinity edge pool cantilevers 22′ above grade. With spectacular views of the Arroyo Grande foothills and farms, this main pool deck becomes a major feature of the home. All living spaces, including the great room and kitchen open up to this deck, ideal for relaxation and entertainment. Given that the owners have five golden retrievers, this outdoor space also serves as an area for the dogs. The design includes multiple water features and even a dog pond.
To further emphasize the views, a third story mitered glass reading room gives one the impression of sitting above the treetops. The use of warm IPE hardwood siding and stone cladding blend the structure into the surrounding landscape while still offering a clean and contemporary aesthetic.

Our Long Island studio used a bright, neutral palette to create a cohesive ambiance in this beautiful lower level designed for play and entertainment. We used wallpapers, tiles, rugs, wooden accents, soft furnishings, and creative lighting to make it a fun, livable, sophisticated entertainment space for the whole family. The multifunctional space has a golf simulator and pool table, a wine room and home bar, and televisions at every site line, making it THE favorite hangout spot in this home.

Mid-sized trendy master white tile and subway tile ceramic tile walk-in shower photo in Seattle with a two-piece toilet, white walls and an undermount sink

After moving into a luxurious home in Ashburn, Virginia, the homeowners decided the master bathroom needed to be revamped. The existing whirlpool tub was far too big, the shower too small and the make-up area poorly designed.
From a functional standpoint, they wanted lots of storage, his and her separate vanities with a large make-up area, better lighting, a large steam shower and a vaulted ceiling. Aesthetics were also important, however, and the lady of the house had always dreamed of having a Venetian style spa.
Taking some space from an adjacent closet has allowed for a much larger shower stall with an arched transom window letting plenty of natural light into the space. Using various sizes of tumbled limestone to build its walls, it includes a rain shower head, a hand shower and body sprayers. A seating bench and storage niches make it easier to use.
New plumbing was put in place to add a large vanity with upper glass cabinets for the man of the house, while one corner of the space was used to create a make-up desk complete with a seamless mirror and embedded sconce lights
A free standing Neapolitan-style soaking tub with fluted columns and arched header is the real focal point of this space. Set among large corner windows, under a stylish chandelier, this elegant design sets this bathroom apart from any bathroom in its category.

With the interplay of stainless steel and teak, the Odyssey Collection Set defines outdoor luxury. The use of high-performance Sunbrella Natte fabric cradles the human body for pure comfort while also resisting the rigors of everyday use and the elements. The teak tabletop of the Odyssey Table detaches to allow the stainless steel frame to scissor fold for convenient storage. The Odyssey Ottoman serves as a footrest when its teak tray is detached to allow you to kick up your feet and relax, or as a side table for your favorite cocktail and book. The Odyssey's bold nautical lean will find its home on the deck of a yacht, a seafront home, or the balcony of a high-rise.
The Odyssey Collection Set features:
-1 Odyssey Folding Chair, 32 inch Odyssey Bistro Dining Table, 1 Odyssey Folding Ottoman w/Tray
-All pieces fold for easy storage.

Alcon Lighting chooses Minimal, Solid, and Clean.
Alcon Lighting offers our customers LED lighting options that are contemporary and sophisticated. These lights can be put in a wide variety of homes and not look out of place. Our customers really appreciate their timeless appeal because they look simple, and elegant – two qualities that really work well in a home that has a modern interior design motif.
Dimming for All
It’s really important to set the right ambiance in your home. Lighting can be a huge factor in setting that tone; whether it’s when you’re entertaining, or it’s a regular week night at home with your family. You need a different amount of lighting when you or your children are sitting at the table doing their homework, or at 9:00PM, when you are winding down and the kids are in bed. Adjusting your lighting accordingly will help your body stay in sync with its circadian rhythm.
Styles and Sizes
Another great feature of the options here at Alcon Lighting is that despite our more modern leanings, we do still offer a variety of styles and different sizes to choose from. You have options for the shape of the mount, you can choose from round, square, or rectangular, and you can select how many lights you want on the fixture (you can have up to four) to control the brightness of your room. Customers can even select the diameter of the individual lights on their fixture (ranging from 2″-6″). When you come to Alcon Lighting, you have a lot of options to make the lighting perfect for your homes.
Short Build Times
No one wants to wait a long time for their lighting after they order it. We understand that home improvements can be disruptive; sometimes deliveries being made efficiently can mean the difference between ending a renovation project on time or ahead of schedule. This is the reason why Alcon makes every effort to ensure that you get your product quickly. Most of the products we sell can be shipped within three days and we aim to have every order delivered within four weeks, at the latest – even for special, customized orders. Alcon Lighting produces high end recessed light options for customers seeking a modern and tasteful look for their home lighting. The lights available come with many options, including style and size based on your needs and tastes. The next time you decide it’s time for new lighting, check us out first.

THE SETUP
The original primary bathroom was characterized by a disjointed and segmented layout. The shower featured a bulky glass-block enclosure that overwhelmed the space visually. There was a considerable amount of open, unused space, and despite having a his and hers vanity, the arrangement lacked personal space for each user, as they shared the conjoined space between the sinks. The toilet was inconveniently located right by the door, with a half-wall partition meant to provide privacy but instead contributing to a cramped and unbalanced feel. Overall, the bathroom’s layout and design were fragmented, failing to make the most of the available space and lacking adequate storage solutions.
Design objectives:
- Reconfigure the layout to enhance functionality and flow.
- Create an elegant, upscale aesthetic that is light and bright.
- Incorporate specialized storage solutions for female hair care needs.
- Increase overall storage capacity.
- Develop a spa-like shower experience.
- Provide a significant wow factor to the space.
THE REMODEL
Design challenges to be solved:
- Repositioning the toilet to a more suitable location.
- Designing hair care storage solutions without cluttering the elegant space.
- Balancing an upscale, elegant design with a feminine touch in the color palette.
- Increasing the brightness of the room without adding windows.
- Completely replacing the existing shower to create a spa-like experience.
- Planning new storage solutions without adding bulkiness or clutter to the cabinetry.
THE RENEWED SPACE
Design solutions:
Toilet Relocation: Moved the toilet by the window, creating a better overall layout that also opened up two full walls for cabinetry and storage solutions.
Specialized Vanity Storage: The left side of the left vanity is the wife’s. Open shelves facing across the vanity can be used for decorative or daily needs items. Pull-out docking drawers with power outlets and metal basins handle hot hair appliances.
Bright and Elegant Color Scheme: White cabinets, countertops, floors, and shower walls keep the space bright. The just-off-white wall color with a hint of pink adds a feminine touch. Thin wainscoting with white trim offers traditional-leaning elegance.
Layered Lighting Strategy: Ceiling can lights, sconces, lighted mirrors, and toe-kick lighting were installed. Natural light-rated bulbs keep the space bright and natural-feeling.
Spa-Like Shower: An extra-large shower was created using the same floor tile materials for continuity. Equipped with a Kohler Anthem system with a shower head, hand-held, and four body sprays. His and Hers niches for separate body care product storage.
Enhanced Storage Solutions: Added a linen cabinet within the vanity area for efficient storage of towels and bathroom essentials.
This elegant bathroom feels incredibly spacious now. The color palette and lights keep the room bright and cheery. Gold fixtures, the herringbone pattern on the floor, and exquisite trim work add an elegant touch. With the husband and wife having their own vanity wall sections joined at the corner, each user truly has their own space within the space. The clients are very happy with the final result.

This kitchen in a 1911 Craftsman home has taken on a new life full of color and personality. Inspired by the client’s colorful taste and the homes of her family in The Philippines, we leaned into the wild for this design. The first thing the client told us is that she wanted terra cotta floors and green countertops. Beyond this direction, she wanted a place for the refrigerator in the kitchen since it was originally in the breakfast nook. She also wanted a place for waste receptacles, to be able to reach all the shelves in her cabinetry, and a special place to play Mahjong with friends and family.
The home presented some challenges in that the stairs go directly over the space where we wanted to move the refrigerator. The client also wanted us to retain the built-ins in the dining room that are on the opposite side of the range wall, as well as the breakfast nook built ins. The solution to these problems were clear to us, and we quickly got to work. We lowered the cabinetry in the refrigerator area to accommodate the stairs above, as well as closing off the unnecessary door from the kitchen to the stairs leading to the second floor. We utilized a recycled body porcelain floor tile that looks like terra cotta to achieve the desired look, but it is much easier to upkeep than traditional terra cotta. In the breakfast nook we used bold jungle themed wallpaper to create a special place that feels connected, but still separate, from the kitchen for the client to play Mahjong in or enjoy a cup of coffee. Finally, we utilized stair pullouts by all the upper cabinets that extend to the ceiling to ensure that the client can reach every shelf.
