We turned this 1954 Hermosa beachfront home's master bathroom into a modern nautical bathroom. The bathroom is a perfect square and measures 7" 6'. The master bathroom had a red/black shower, the toilet took up half of the space, and there was no vanity. We relocated the shower closer to the window and added more space for the shower enclosure with a low-bearing wall, and two custom shower niches. The toilet is now located closer to the entryway with the new shower ventilation system and recessed lights above. The beautiful shaker vanity has a luminous white marble countertop and a blue glass sink bowl. The large built-in LED mirror sits above the vanity along with a set of four glass wall mount vanity lights. We kept the beautiful wood ceiling and revived its beautiful dark brown finish.

Three mirrors hang over a high marble backsplash. The LED vanity lighting illuminates the vanity space. The skill of Flavio of Solito Marble and Granite, the construction of the homeowner's design was Reynaldo Cruz, and the owner of Ecstatic Stone, Josh Cattano, personally chose the particular marbles and designed the layout of the stone to flow as a tranquil river or the majestic ocean. Twenty inch square porcelain tile was laid on the bathroom floor; tile made to look like Statuario Italian marble. Larger tile was chosen to open up the room. This remodeled bathroom is 10' by 12'; the white and gray veining larger tile, the white Shadow Storm Marble with gray veining, all lends to the look of open and relaxing. One window allows sufficient natural lighting. The crown moldlng is covered in a high gloss white paint which accents the gray paint adding to an elegant spa-like oasis.

I designed this ADA master bathroom and assisted the homeowner in making all of the fixture, material and finish choices while working at Corvallis Custom Kitchens and Baths. Our client wanted to update this master bathroom for her to use and be able to live in comfortably as she gets older. We installed a frameless glass shower with a fixed panel over a 1/2 height wall and a hinged door. A linear drain allows for a zero threshold entry into the shower allowing for the bather to enter without any barrier to step over. We installed an American Standard Cadet Pro Right Height toilet and placed blocking in the wall for grab bars (one with a toilet paper holder) could be installed. Maple flat panel cabinetry was installed with a linen cabinet and with Silestone Phoenix quuartz countertops and backsplash with a Kohler Caxton undermount sinks with a Moen single handle faucets. Grab bars were installed in the shower stall and at the entry to the shower, along with a Speakman grab bar shower system with Hansgrohe shower controls. Two combo niches for shampoo and such was installed close to the handheld showerhead for easy access and near the rear of the shower. LED lighting was added to the shower area on it's own dimmer switch. Three additional LED fixtures were installed between the mirrors to provide excellent task lighting for anyone using the vanity. We added a pocket door to separate the bathroom from the master bedroom.

In the fixed panel, we installed a small door so the controls for the shower can be accessed without having to enter the shower. A linear drain allows for a zero threshold entry into the shower allowing for the bather to enter without any barrier to step over. We installed an American Standard Cadet Pro Right Height toilet and places blocking in the wall so drop down grab bars (one with a toilet paper holder) could be added if wanted at a later time. We decided to install a narrower vanity than what was previously installed to allow more room in the toilet area.
