By introducing new cabinets and adopting a fresh color scheme, we swiftly revitalized the area, giving it an added brightness and a sense of airiness. The key to the transformation lay in reimagining the layout – removing the counter barstool space and replacing it with an island instantly ushered in an open-concept plan, enhancing the kitchen's spaciousness and facilitating seamless movement within the area. What's remarkable about this renovation is that it leveraged existing elements while making only minor adjustments, yet the impact was nothing short of profound. About the Gainey Ranch Project by Adam Paul Schiff Designs: Located within the exclusive gated enclaves of the Gainey Ranch golf club community in Central Scottsdale, Arizona, this full-scale residential transformation showcases the pinnacle of high-end modern urban luxury. Our studio reimagined the interior architecture to maximize natural light, establishing an open-concept flow and a seamless indoor-outdoor transition to the private patio enclaves. Moving away from standard, predictable monochromatic modern palettes, the design leverages our signature mastery of color theory and rich material contrast. By weaving together sophisticated color consulting, architectural lighting design, and curated luxury textiles, we transformed this property into a warm, tranquil, and editorial-worthy contemporary estate tailored for the upscale Scottsdale lifestyle.

This beautiful yet highly functional space was remodeled for a busy, active family. Flush ceiling beams joined two rooms, and the back wall was extended out six feet to create a new, open layout with areas for cooking, dining, and entertaining. The homeowner is a decorator with a vision for the new kitchen that leverages low-maintenance materials with modern, clean lines. Durable Quartz countertops and full-height slab backsplash sit atop white overlay cabinets around the perimeter, with angled shaker doors and matte brass hardware adding polish. There is a functional “working” island for cooking, storage, and an integrated microwave, as well as a second waterfall-edge island delineated for seating. A soft slate black was chosen for the bases of both islands to ground the center of the space and set them apart from the perimeter. The custom stainless-steel hood features “Cartier” screws detailing matte brass accents and anchors the Wolf 48” dual fuel range. A new window, framed by glass display cabinets, adds brightness along the rear wall, with dark herringbone floors creating a solid presence throughout the space.

The first function features the opening at the top, in a tilted position, that allows for a softer ventilation flow and enhanced protection from the elements during inclement weather. The second function is achieved by a turn of the same handle that allows the entire window to open inwardly. This dual-opening functionality gives homeowners full control of their home ventilation with a versatile option that can be leveraged throughout the seasons. In addition, both sides of the glass can be easily cleaned indoors and are easily operated with a single hand.
