This entryway bench is wrapped in walnut with built-in cubbies below an upholstered bench, serving as a place to stop and take off shoes and drop your bag. The vertical channel upholstered back in olive green leather makes a statement.

Designed by Interior Designer, A. Lantz Design, this Lake Charlevoix project was featured on the cover of Traditional Home magazine!
This is guest bedroom #9 in this gorgeous Michigan lake house. It's located on the lower level of the home in between the workout room and family room. This guest suite's theme was lake life meets nature. We pulled the views out the window into the room to create a seamless and sophisticated look. The dark stain on the vanity is show stopping and pops against the diamond patterned bathroom floor tile. A large mirror stretches across the vanity and is flagged by two nautical looking wall sconces. We got creative with wall art in this space and framed vintage boating accessories like life jackets and life savers. The bedroom walls are wrapped in a neutral, whimsical forest-like wallcovering.

Storage near the front entrance provides a place to hang a jacket, feed the dogs and store shoes and pet supplies. The shiplap paneling is painted a creamy white to match the #Fabuwood Shaker-style cabinetry in Linen.

This garage space was set up for active and entertaining family retreat where the area had to be set up for variety of winter and summer outdoor sporting activities. The system utilized Burma Cherry melamine laminate finish with black edge banding which was complemented with an integral black powder coated j-pull door handles. The system also incorporated some poly slot wall area for storing a large variety of sporting goods that could easily be interchanged for the season and stored away when not in use. The garage area also served as food and beverage area for any outside picnic and party activities.

Our clients asked us to breathe new life into a dark and chopped up 1990’s home, that had a solid shell but a dysfunctional floor plan and dated finishes. We took down all the walls and created an open concept, sunny plan where all the public social spaces connected. We added a Dutch front door and created both a foyer and proper mud-room for the first time, so guests now had a sense of arrival and a place to hang their jackets. The odd dated kitchen that was the heart of the home was rebuilt from scratch with a simple white and blue palette. We opened up the south wall of the main floor with large windows and doors to help BBQ’s and parties flow from inside to the patio. The sagging and faded wrap-around porch was rebuilt from scratch. We re-arranged the interior spaces to create a dream kid’s playroom packed with organized storage and just far enough away from the grown-ups so that everyone can co-exist peacefully. We redid the finishes & fixtures throughout, and opened up the staircase to be an elegant path through this 4 storey house.

A key factor in the design of this week's home was functionality for an expanding family. This mudroom nook located off the kitchen allows for plenty of storage for the regularly used jackets, bags, shoes and more. Making it easy for the family to keep the area functional and tidy.

Transitional style is often described as a balanced blend of traditional and contemporary furnishings and décor. A neutral color palette, simple focus, and textured materials were used to create the transitional style that everyone wants in their homes. The clean lines and crisp edges are what define this foyer. Wellborn Cabinet’s Aspire full access frameless line of cabinetry makes this transitional design come to life. The door style used in this foyer is Winslow in Maple, finished in the newly launched Shale stain.
