As with every client, our goal was to create a truly distinct home that reflected the needs and desires of the homeowner while exceeding their expectations. The modern aesthetic was combined with warm and welcoming hill country features like the white limestone exterior in a coarse linear pattern, knotty alder slab front cabinets in the kitchen and dining, and light wood flooring throughout. Stark, clean edges were balanced with rounded and curved light fixtures as well as the limestone cladding fireplace surround in the family room. While the design was pleasing to the eye, measures were taken to ensure a sturdy build including steel lintel window header details, a fluid-applied flashing window treatment to prevent water infiltration, LED recessed can lighting, high-efficiency windows with LowE glass coatings, and spray foam insulation. The backyard was specifically designed for entertaining in the Texas heat with a covered patio that offered multiple fans and an outdoor kitchen.

The main design goal of this Northern European country style home was to use traditional, authentic materials that would have been used ages ago. ORIJIN STONE premium stone was selected as one such material, taking the main stage throughout key living areas including the custom hand carved Alder™ Limestone fireplace in the living room, as well as the master bedroom Alder fireplace surround, the Greydon™ Sandstone cobbles used for flooring in the den, porch and dining room as well as the front walk, and for the Greydon Sandstone paving & treads forming the front entrance steps and landing, throughout the garden walkways and patios and surrounding the beautiful pool. This home was designed and built to withstand both trends and time, a true & charming heirloom estate. Bedroom - large contemporary master light wood floor bedroom idea in Houston with white walls

Located in Highland Park, Texas and completed in 2015, this traditional residence underwent a complete garden renovation which included new walkway approach, bluestone walkways, steps, decorative urns, custom lattice screen panels, gates, outdoor kitchen and extensive landscaping.

The existing excavated limestone boulders were strategically repositioned to not only serve as functional components but also as visually striking features to the modified design of the dry creek pathways and planted areas. The trees are viewed as an opportunity to utilize dark Whittlesey mulch to provide contrast, water retention, and tie in to other defined beds and oak clusters on the property. The front walk is comprised of sawn limestone pavers surrounded by crushed limestone rock mulch and accented by river rock dry creek bed that follows through to the backyard. The existing overwhelmed downspouts were replaced with rain chains, which not only effectively managed the water flow but also added a touch of elegance that matched the home's style. To work in tandem with the rain chains, 8” limestone block splash pads were installed beneath them to act as splash pads. The limestone block beautifully matches and enhances the existing architecture of the property, as well as the materials used throughout the landscaping.

To anchor a modern house, designed by Frederick Fisher & Partners, Campion Walker brought in a mature oak grove that at first frames the home and then invites the visitor to explore the grounds including an intimate culinary garden and stone fruit orchard. The neglected hillside on the back of the property once overgrown with ivy was transformed into a California native oak woodland, with under-planting of ceanothus and manzanitas. We used recycled water to create a dramatic water feature cut directly into the limestone entranceway framed by a cacti and succulent garden.
