This home is an oasis of calming color and sophisticated, transitional design. The kitchen has a dark wood floor with a farmhouse sink, white louvered cabinets, marble countertops, a white marble backsplash, stainless steel appliances, and an island. The great room and living room also have dark wood floors with white walls and comfortable furniture. The dining room and sunroom flaunt calming hues with a printed rug adding a dash of bright color. The master bedrooms and guest room showcase a green and yellow palette with luxe linen and furnishing, while the kid's room is a light green with comfy bunkbeds. The master bathroom has a yellow tile and stone tile limestone floor with white shaker cabinets, a one-piece toilet, beige walls, an undermount sink, and quartz countertops.

Kitchen, Dining and Family Room Remodel for clients with a wonderful collection of Mid-Century Furniture. We opened up small rooms to create this space, changed out small windows to a wall of doors and windows, capturing their gorgeous view. Looking out the windows you would hardly know you are moments from Downtown Minneapolis. The beautiful, organic nature of walnut used horizontally creates peace and rhythm throughout the space. Angular patterned glass tile fills the two kitchen walls with restrained energy and a dash of glamour. Add to that recipe, fun pedants that play well with their original Mid-Mod fixtures over the Dining Table and the space feels both Modern and Timeless. @spacecrafting

Inspiration for a large transitional open concept living room remodel in Little Rock with blue walls

An eclectic, modern media room with bold accents of black metals, natural woods, and terra cotta tile floors. We wanted to design a fresh and modern hangout spot for these clients, whether they’re hosting friends or watching the game, this entertainment room had to fit every occasion. We designed a full home bar, which looks dashing right next to the wooden accent wall and foosball table. The sitting area is full of luxe seating, with a large gray sofa and warm brown leather arm chairs. Additional seating was snuck in via black metal chairs that fit seamlessly into the built-in desk and sideboard table (behind the sofa).... In total, there is plenty of seats for a large party, which is exactly what our client needed. Lastly, we updated the french doors with a chic, modern black trim, a small detail that offered an instant pick-me-up. The black trim also looks effortless against the black accents. Family room - transitional enclosed medium tone wood floor family room idea in Miami with beige walls and a tv stand

Ulrich Designer: Julia Kleyman Photography by Peter Rymwid The design challenge in this kitchen was to combine sleek materials to make the space look modern – in fitting with the overall character of the home – and also to achieve a warm and inviting living space. Some special touches for the homeowners include the peninsula counter top that was dropped down to a more comfortable height for mixing and dough rolling. Above the peninsula a bean-shaped frosted glass snack counter sits on metal posts, creating an eating/snacking area. White porcelain tile with two chrome liners running around the perimeter create a clean backdrop for the focal point of the kitchen, a clear glass hood by Miele. A blue acrylic cabinetry finish gives the space a dash of color, while the cherry finish on the appliances side of the kitchen and on the sitting side of the peninsula makes the kitchen warm and inviting.

This 1850s farmhouse in the country outside NY underwent a dramatic makeover! Dark wood molding was painted white, shiplap added to the walls, wheat-colored grasscloth installed, and carpets torn out to make way for natural stone and heart pine flooring. We based the palette on quintessential American colors: red, white, and navy. Rooms that had been dark were filled with light and became the backdrop for cozy fabrics, wool rugs, and a collection of art and curios. Inspiration for a mid-sized coastal enclosed medium tone wood floor living room remodel in Providence with blue walls

Outdoor patio: Rug by Dash and Albert Photo by Eric Rorer While we adore all of our clients and the beautiful structures which we help fill and adorn, like a parent adores all of their children, this recent mid-century modern interior design project was a particular delight. This client, a smart, energetic, creative, happy person, a man who, in-person, presents as refined and understated — he wanted color. Lots of color. When we introduced some color, he wanted even more color: Bright pops; lively art. In fact, it started with the art. This new homeowner was shopping at SLATE ( https://slateart.net) for art one day… many people choose art as the finishing touches to an interior design project, however this man had not yet hired a designer. He mentioned his predicament to SLATE principal partner (and our dear partner in art sourcing) Danielle Fox, and she promptly referred him to us. At the time that we began our work, the client and his architect, Jack Backus, had finished up a massive remodel, a thoughtful and thorough update of the elegant, iconic mid-century structure (originally designed by Ratcliff & Ratcliff) for modern 21st-century living. And when we say, “the client and his architect” — we mean it. In his professional life, our client owns a metal fabrication company; given his skills and knowledge of engineering, build, and production, he elected to act as contractor on the project. His eye for metal and form made its way into some of our furniture selections, in particular the coffee table in the living room, fabricated and sold locally by Turtle and Hare. Color for miles: One of our favorite aspects of the project was the long hallway. By choosing to put nothing on the walls, and adorning the length of floor with an amazing, vibrant, patterned rug, we created a perfect venue. The rug stands out, drawing attention to the art on the floor. In fact, the rugs in each room were as thoughtfully selected for color and design as the art on the walls. While my design firm is known for our work with traditional and transitional architecture, and we love those projects, I think it is clear from this project that Modern is also our cup of tea.
