This once unused bonus room was transformed into a wonderful new bedroom for a boy with lots of room to grow, play and have sleepovers. We took advantage of the attic space either side of the room by recessing the TV / storage area and also on the opposite side with the double desk unit. The room was separated by the sets of drawers that have custom headboards at the back of them, this helping with the great length of this room. Custom bookcase shelving was made for the window wall to also create not only depth but display as well. The clients as well as their son are enjoying the room!

This custom home addition was designed to give a growing family the flexibility, organization, and functional living space they were missing. The project includes a multi-purpose downstairs family lounge with custom built-ins and a three-person workstation, an upstairs flex room featuring a custom Murphy bed and tailored storage, and a moody mid-century modern bathroom with a curbless shower and integrated storage. Every space was thoughtfully designed to serve multiple functions while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic, creating a home that adapts effortlessly to work, hobbies, guests, and everyday family life.

Believe it or not, this was one of the cleanest the job was in a long time. The cabin was pretty tiny so not much room left when it was stocked with all of our materaisl that needed cover. But underneath it all, you can see the minimalistic pine bench. I loved how our 2 step finish made all of the grain and color pop without being shiny. Price of steel skyrocketed just before this but still wasn't too bad, especially compared to the stone I had planned before. Installed the steel plate hearth for the wood stove. Took some hunting but found a minimalistic modern wood stove. Was a little worried when client insisted on wood stove because most are so traditional and dated looking. Love the square edges, straight lines. Wood stove disappears into the black background. Originally I had planned a massive stone gas fireplace and surround and was disappointed when client wanted woodstove. But after redeisign was pretty happy how it turned out. Got that minimal streamlined rustic farmhouse look I was going for. The cubby holes are for firewood storage. 2 step finish method. 1st coat makes grain and color pop (you should have seen how bland it looked before) and final coat for protection.

The entire roof was removed and MWA, Inc. had the overall plate height raised, giving the space a much higher open ceiling. A loft was added with custom crafts-made bookshelves built from reclaimed wood. The ladder leading to the loft conceals additional storage. The remodel used an open plan concept, connecting the living room, kitchen and dining area; creating the perfect place for entertaining and spending time together. the heavy timber posts and wood ceilings bring warmth and character to the spaces. Here's my shop/office. I call it the "Shoffice". It's a space to house my classic cars, a workshop to work on them, and an office on the loft for my work from home day job. The interior of the visible space is 50' x 50', but there's an additional 12' x 50' space through the door under the stairs that leads to an RV bay and an additional "dirty" workspace that contains a deep utility sink, compressor, work benches and storage shelves, a storage loft, and the water heater.
