Entering this downtown Denver loft, three layered cowhide rugs create a perfectly organic shape and set the foundation for two cognac leather arm chairs. A 13' panel of Silver Eucalyptus (EKD) supports a commissioned painting ("Smoke") Bottom line, it’s a pretty amazing first impression! Without showing you the before photos of this condo, it’s hard to imagine the transformation that took place in just 6 short months. The client wanted a hip, modern vibe to her new home and reached out to San Diego Interior Designer, Rebecca Robeson. Rebecca had a vision for what could be. Rebecca created a 3D model to convey the possibilities… and they were off to the races. The design races that is. Rebecca’s 3D model captured the heart of her new client and the project took off. With only 6 short months to completely gut and transform the space, it was essential Robeson Design connect with the right people in Denver. Rebecca searched HOUZZ for Denver General Contractors. Ryan Coats of Earthwood Custom Remodeling lead a team of highly qualified sub-contractors throughout the project and over the finish line. A young couple with three small children purchased this full floor loft in Tribeca in need of a gut renovation. The existing apartment was plagued with awkward spaces, limited natural light and an outdated décor. It was also lacking the required third child’s bedroom desperately needed for their newly expanded family. StudioLAB aimed for a fluid open-plan layout in the larger public spaces while creating smaller, tighter quarters in the rear private spaces to satisfy the family’s programmatic wishes. 3 small children’s bedrooms were carved out of the rear lower level connected by a communal playroom and a shared kid’s bathroom. Upstairs, the master bedroom and master bathroom float above the kid’s rooms on a mezzanine accessed by a newly built staircase. Ample new storage was built underneath the staircase as an extension of the open kitchen and dining areas. A custom pull out drawer containing the food and water bowls was installed for the family’s two dogs to be hidden away out of site when not in use. All wall surfaces, existing and new, were limited to a bright but warm white finish to create a seamless integration in the ceiling and wall structures allowing the spatial progression of the space and sculptural quality of the midcentury modern furniture pieces and colorful original artwork, painted by the wife’s brother, to enhance the space. The existing tin ceiling was left in the living room to maximize ceiling heights and remain a reminder of the historical details of the original construction. A new central AC system was added with an exposed cylindrical duct running along the long living room wall. A small office nook was built next to the elevator tucked away to be out of site.

For the kitchen, we decided to go with a double-tier upper cabinet to utilize the height of the loft with its very high ceiling. We also decided to go with the Bottle Green cabinet color by Ultracraft that gives an eclectic feel tying in well with the exposed brick and natural wood features. We paired the green with the Rag Bone cabinet color that balanced it out and blended in with the rest of the space, allowing the green and brass hardware to pop. We also extended the lower cabinets and added a wine fridge to better serve the bar area, perfect for entertaining. Finally, the Ventao Gold Quartz countertop with warm veining tied in perfectly with the brass hardware and Black and Brass faucet.

This living room design reflects a tailored “old-world” look, respecting the original features of the Spice Warehouse. With its high ceilings, arched windows, original brick wall and iron columns, this space is a testament of ancient time and old world elegance. The design choices are a combination of neutral, modern finishes such as the Oak natural matte finish floors and white walls, white shaker style kitchen cabinets, combined with a lot of texture found in the brick wall, the iron columns and the various fabrics and furniture pieces finishes used throughout the space and highlighted by a beautiful natural light brought in through a wall of arched windows. The layout is open and flowing to keep the feel of grandeur of the space so each piece and design finish can be admired individually. As soon as you enter, a comfortable Eames lounge chair invites you in, giving her back to a solid brick wall adorned by the “cappuccino” art photography piece by Francis Augustine and surrounded by flowing linen taupe window drapes and a shiny cowhide rug. The cream linen sectional sofa takes center stage, with its sea of textures pillows, giving it character, comfort and uniqueness. The living room combines modern lines such as the Hans Wegner Shell chairs in walnut and black fabric with rustic elements such as this one of a kind Indonesian antique coffee table, giant iron antique wall clock and hand made jute rug which set the old world tone for an exceptional interior. The island itself is divided up into areas for eating, drinking, and reading. Bringing this theme into the bedroom, the bed was constructed out of 12x12 reclaimed logs anchored by two bent steel plates for side tables.

Interior Designer Rebecca Robeson designed this downtown loft to reflect the homeowners LOVE FOR THE LOFT! With an energetic look on life, this homeowner wanted a high-quality home with casual sensibility. Comfort and easy maintenance were high on the list... Rebecca and team went to work transforming this 2,000-sq.ft. condo in a record 6 months. Contractor Ryan Coats (Earthwood Custom Remodeling, Inc.) lead a team of highly qualified sub-contractors throughout the project and over the finish line. 8" wide hardwood planks of white oak replaced low quality wood floors, 6'8" French doors were upgraded to 8' solid wood and frosted glass doors, used brick veneer and barn wood walls were added as well as new lighting throughout. The outdated Kitchen was gutted along with Bathrooms and new 8" baseboards were installed. All new tile walls and backsplashes as well as intricate tile flooring patterns were brought in while every countertop was updated and replaced. All new plumbing and appliances were included as well as hardware and fixtures. Closet systems were designed by Robeson Design and executed to perfection. State of the art sound system, entertainment package and smart home technology was integrated by Ryan Coats and his team. Exquisite Kitchen Design, (Denver Colorado) headed up the custom cabinetry throughout the home including the Kitchen, Lounge feature wall, Bathroom vanities and the Living Room entertainment piece boasting a 9' slab of Fumed White Oak with a live edge. Paul Anderson of EKD worked closely with the team at Robeson Design on Rebecca's vision to insure every detail was built to perfection. The project was completed on time and the homeowners are thrilled... And it didn't hurt that the ball field was the awesome view out the Living Room window. In this home, all of the window treatments, built-in cabinetry and many of the furniture pieces, are custom designs by Interior Designer Rebecca Robeson made specifically for this project. Double sinks are under-mounted below white marble countertops atop the custom designed vanity (EKD) in solid wood, painted with 8 layers of bronze metal paint. 6 usable storage drawers and 8 linear feet of exposed towel storage add to the organization appeal of this custom piece. Polished nickel hardware, light sconces and accessories compliment the Polished nickel Calista Bathroom fixtures by Kohler, serving the sinks, shower and freestanding tub. Frameless glass shower doors swing on polished nickel hinges and shower walls are covered in stone tile with a smooth matte finish making cleaning nice and easy. * The Bathroom vanity is a custom designed piece by Interior Designer Rebecca Robeson. Denver Loft Style Condo Space... 13' exposed concrete ceilings add to the spacious feeling of this 2,000-sq.ft. condo in downtown Denver. The open concept space is desirable for casual urban living... but, it has its challenges when coming to design. When you can see the Entry Lounge, Dining Room, Kitchen, Guest Bedroom and Living room all at the same time you want to make good cohesive choices in your furniture, fixtures and finishes. San Diego based Interior Designer, Rebecca Robeson took the challenge head on! Rebecca’s vision for the project was to address each area and its functional aspects while creating visual continuity from room to room. For starters, Rebecca eliminated the numerous flooring materials in the current space and ran 8' hardwood plank flooring throughout substituting similar wood looking tile in the Bathrooms. The 6'8" French doors were replaced with 8’ solid wood doors with frosted glass horizontal inlays. Rocky Mountain door handles and hinges added a rich quality to all the doors creating continuity, even in the smallest details. Rebecca kept her paint color selection at a minimum with the exception of accent color walls in Guest Bedrooms. She added 8” tall baseboards throughout and had them painted Simply White by Benjamin Moore. This view of the Entry Lounge, Guest Bedroom, Kitchen and Dining room convey the artful choices Rebecca made with her color pallet, textures, furniture pieces and light fixtures. Well thought out, the bold purple accent wall in the Guest Bedroom combines well with the overall neutral palette in the main living spaces.
