This home was another 100% brick exterior with only a small amount of siding above the roofline and on the chimney. The original wood fascia, soffit, trim, and upper siding had reached the end of their life, so we replaced everything with new James Hardie products for long‑term durability and a cleaner architectural look.
We also upgraded the porch by removing the outdated columns and installing modern Hardie column wraps to give the entryway a stronger, more contemporary presence. Once all new materials were installed, we finished the exterior with two coats of Sherwin‑Williams Emerald Rain Refresh, providing a smooth, durable, low‑maintenance finish built for Houston’s climate.
If your brick home needs fascia, soffit, trim, or upper‑story siding replaced, Deskins Siding & Exteriors delivers expert Hardie installation throughout Cypress, Tomball, and Northwest Houston.

Inside, the home continues its disciplined aesthetic—open, airy, and rooted in natural texture. White oak floors, custom cabinetry, and stone countertops create a neutral foundation that highlights the home’s architectural lines. The open floor plan connects kitchen, dining, and living areas, while expansive window walls extend sightlines into the landscape.
Mechanical and structural systems are discreetly integrated for comfort and performance. High-efficiency insulation, HVAC zoning, and moisture control ensure long-term durability and efficiency. Outdoor living areas—terraces, porches, and patios—mirror the main structure’s material language, with continuous stone and wood elements that blur the boundary between interior and exterior.

When our long-term clients purchased this home in Sherman Oaks, we helped them turn the backyard into a space they could actually use with a backyard upgrade and pool remodel. We rebuilt the pool and added a custom deck area with built-in bench seating for everyday use and small gatherings. We also designed and installed an outdoor BBQ kitchen with a durable basalt countertop that complements the interior. To break up the space, we added paving, stepping stones, and low-maintenance groundcover planting for texture and easier upkeep. We finished it off with wood elements and neutral tones to bring everything together into a practical and inviting backyard.

This custom wine cellar is truly a masterpiece.

Set within a beautiful city neighborhood off West River Road, this 1940’s cottage was completely updated, remodeled and added to, resulting in a “new house” for the enjoyment of its long-term owners, who plans to remain in the home indefinitely. Each room in the house was restored and refreshed and new spaces were added including kitchen, family room, mudroom, guest bedroom and studio. A new detached garage was sited to provide a screen from the alley and to create a courtyard for a more private backyard. Careful consideration was given to the streetscape and neighboring houses on both the front and back elevations to assure that massing, new materials and exterior details complemented the existing house, street and neighborhood. Finally a new covered porch was added to protect from the elements and present a more welcoming entry from the street.

This bathroom is a tranquil and inviting space. The tile wainscoting creates a seamless, clean line of sight leading into the shower. The decorative splash wraps the vanity and continues into the shower area, again reinforcing the clean sight lines. The mosaic is a stone and glass blend with a modern style and color pallet. The porcelain tile is maintenance free and durable. The pattern mimics the look of vein cut travertine, giving the space a natural look while maintaining the ease of maintenance. The larger format of the tiles decreases the frequency of the grout lines. The dark vanity cabinet gives a great contrast with the neutral pallet of the tile, and adds to the overall appeal of the space. The granite is subdued in its movement and compliments the modern color tones found in the decorative glass mosaic. The brushed nickel fixtures finish off the space. The square trim on the faucets and shower trim give this space a great finishing touch.

Bedroom of a new construction single-level home in Orinda, CA. A custom slatted oak wall-mounted valet panel serves as both bedside organizer and architectural detail, with an upper shelf for books and accessories, integrated black metal hooks for hats and bags, and a floating single-drawer oak nightstand below, all mounted on a vertical oak slat backing that echoes the room divider and bar cabinet details carried throughout the home. A full-height black-framed casement window to the left frames an unobstructed view of a mature coast redwood tree and neighborhood garden, one of the most serene bedroom window moments in the project. Walnut full-height wardrobe panel visible at far left. Oak platform bed with white linen bedding, cognac leather accent pillow, and a textured grey woven throw blanket with wave pattern. Abstract circular framed artwork in black and white above the bed. Black-framed horizontal picture window to the right. White oak hardwood floors. The single-level layout of the Uplift House was designed for aging-in-place, every bedroom is accessible without stairs, wide-doored, and thoughtfully proportioned for long-term livability.
