Interior Designer, Rochelle Rae @Turquoise_Lifestyle, transforms her living room & master suite from coastal-cool to coastal-chic with our Polywood shutters. The shutter style showcased here includes a divider-rail & hidden tilt option with 3.5" louvers & bright-white smooth finish. The divider rail is a permanent horizontal bar on a shutter panel that allows the top & bottom shutter louvers to be controlled separately, yet essentially, allowing one the option to customize lighting while sustaining privacy at the same time! The hidden tilt option, also, amplifies the style in this coastal cottage, giving it a smooth & polished finishing touch! https://turquoiselifestyleco.com/

Two-panel shutters set above a granite sill, with the frame built to sit clean against the stone. Cabinetry runs right up to the window return, so the frame depth had to be measured to the millimetre before the panels were cut. Real hardwood, built in our Palm City, FL factory.
This is the most common problem we get called about. Arched and eyebrow windows don't take a standard blind, shade or curtain — the top either gets left bare, gets covered with a flat panel that ignores the shape, or the homeowner gives up and installs something rectangular that fights the architecture. This homeowner had been looking for a long time before finding us.
The solution is a fixed sunburst arch: louvers cut individually at radiating angles, fanning out from a solid hub at the base of the curve. Every louver is a different length and a different angle, so the arch has to be templated from the actual opening and cut to that template — there is no stock version of this. Below the arch, 6 two-panel shutters in 3½ louvers with traditional tilt rods and a divider rail, so the lower half can close for privacy while the upper half stays open for light. Finished in SW White, with rosette corner blocks where the arch meets the verticals to tie the frame into the existing millwork.
We could build it because we manufacture. The arch was templated on site, cut, assembled, finished and installed by our own team out of our Palm City factory. A company that orders shutters from a catalogue can't quote this window, which is why most of them don't.
Arched, circular, octagonal and specialty-shape shutters across Port St. Lucie, Martin, Palm Beach and Indian River counties.

This Western Red Cedar Bahamas shutter is installed with a 2-3/8" Bahamas hinge mounted on the wood trim above the window opening. The hinge is painted to match the shutter's paint color. The shutters can be propped open with our Premium Black Telescoping Arms. The first shutter is closed. Notice the arm is vertical and "sandwiched" in between the wall and the shutter when closed. The shutter in the distance is propped open. The shutters are 2" wider on each side than the window opening so that the Bahamas Arms can be mounted behind the shutter to the brick wall.
The shutter was painted a custom color, Benjamin Moore English Brown 2100-30.
The louvers are 1-7/8" x 3/8" wide at a 30 degree angle. The shutter is 1-1/2" thick with 2-1/8" side stiles & vertical mullions. The top rail is 3". The shutters are 79" wide x 77" tall.

These are pictures of a job I did a few years back for a customer in Alamo Heights. Most of the houses in that area have the same type of cased window with the wide flat trim, typically painted. This customer wanted a rich look, so we installed the stained shutters inside the painted wood trim. Most people would have chosen a painted shutter to match, so this is a bit unusual, but stunning. We used a 3 ¼” louver with the Horizon side tilts in our 470 Walnut color, and a midrail to align with the window lock. Because the window are a double hung type, the midrail allows us to mount the shutter frame further back allowing the larger 3 ¼” lover to tilt without hitting the window lock. She was so pleased with the job we did for her that she recommended us to her next door neighbor. He has purchased the same color and louver size shutter for his house, with a few modifications to fit his style of décor.
