A classic select grade natural oak. Timeless and versatile. With the Modin Collection, we have raised the bar on luxury vinyl plank. The result: a new standard in resilient flooring. Our Base line features smaller planks and less prominent bevels, at an even lower price point. Both offer true embossed-in-register texture, a low sheen level, a commercial-grade wear-layer, a pre-attached underlayment, a rigid SPC core, and are 100% waterproof.

This shower has a seat that appears to float in air with a hand shower. The custom niche is reachable whether standing or sitting. Tile, stone, quartz and glass!
This was a major Master Suite remodel. It has it all; a large walk-in shower, a spa tub with TV, bench seats both in the shower and by the tub, his and hers storage, a walk-in closet, heated floors everywhere and a flood of light.

Located in, Summit Park, Park City UT lies one of the most efficient houses in the country. The Summit Haus – designed and built by Chris Price of PCD+B, is an exploration in design and construction of advanced high performance housing. Seeing a rising demand for sustainable housing along with rising Carbon emissions leading to global warming, this house strives to show that sensible, good design can create spaces adequate for today’s housing demands while adhering to strict standards. The house was designed to meet the very rigid Passiv House rating system – 90% more efficient than a typical home in the area.
The house itself was intended to nestle neatly into the 45 degree sloped site and to take full advantage of the limited solar access and views. The views range from short, highly wooded views to a long corridor out towards the Uinta Mountain range towards the east. The house was designed and built based off Passiv Haus standards, and the framing and ventilation became critical elements to maintain such minimal energy requirements.
Zola triple-pane, tilt-and-turn Thermo uPVC windows contribute substantially to the home’s energy efficiency, and takes advantage of the beautiful surrounding of the location, including forrest views from the deck off of the kitchen.

PLUMBING: Ferguson, Delta and DXV
For the shower set and toilet, I worked with Helen from Ferguson. We finalized the Delta Trinsic Collection in matte black for the shower and the DXV Equility toilet with a custom matte black flush handle. The finish and style compliment the Watermark pieces at a lower price point. When looking for toilets, the Equility is a great option in that it’s skirted (it doesn’t have the flat piece at the bottom that is a dust trap) and has a modern look and high efficiency flush.

This build was one that we took on to discover if we could build a more cost friendly home, and still have some of the same elements as the majority of our other speculative homes. We discovered that although we came in at a lower price point. We had to remove some of the elements that we desire in our homes. We loved the interior layout of the home, but felt that the exterior curb appeal was not exactly as we would have liked.

I got an induction stove because we live where I can't get natural gas. It's very powerful, the controls quickly respond like a gas stove, and we sear a lot of meat.
The cooking run replaced a lot of deep cabinets that were very inconvenient. The uppers were not set back so there was also no usable work space on that side before.
While good cabinets are pretty spendy (about $10K in this case), the custom shops can usually beat the prices of good cabinets from a big box store.
The shelves were not made by the cabinet shop. I got the corbels from a small shop in Colorado, and the carpenters and painter did the planks. Top shelf is 12" deep and lower shelf is 9" deep. Photo by Catharine Krueger

See what our client say about Paul Lopa Designs.
I started my search for a contractor about a year before I hired Paul to do a kitchen and bathroom renovation. This was my first time at the bat, and I really had no idea what to expect. I had many contractor proposals that swung wildly in price but for some reason I never felt inclined to hire any of the guys I met with. I happened to be looking at Houzz one day and came across Paul’s company and he had very good reviews. I gave him a call and he came to my apartment quickly. I liked him immediately when we met. I thought it was strange that he asked me for my budget and how much I wanted to spend but in hindsight, providing that information allowed Paul to come back to me with a very detailed proposal based on my budget. I soon realized that the lower proposals I had did not include many of the budget items that would be necessary to complete the job. Paul laid out the pricing and provided a very reasonable “allowance” based on your measurements for tile, toilet, sinks, etc. It is up to you to stay within that allowance.
