Spectacular Rustic/Modern Basement Renovation - The large unfinished basement of this beautiful custom home was transformed into a rustic family retreat. The new space has something for everyone and adds over 1800 sq. feet of living space with something for the whole family. The walkout basement has plenty of natural light and offers several places to gather, play games, or get away. A home office and full bathroom add function and convenience for the homeowners and their guests. A two-sided stone fireplace helps to define and divide the large room as well as to warm the atmosphere and the Michigan winter nights. The undeniable pinnacle of this remodel is the custom, old-world inspired bar made of massive timber beams and 100 year-old reclaimed barn wood that we were able to salvage from the iconic Milford Shutter Shop. The Barrel vaulted, tongue and groove ceiling add to the authentic look and feel the owners desired. Brookhaven, Knotty Alder cabinets and display shelving, black honed granite countertops, Black River Ledge cultured stone accents, custom Speake-easy door with wrought iron details, and glass pendant lighting with vintage Edison bulbs together send guests back in time to a rustic saloon of yesteryear. Beams have been uniquely designed to integrate into full height pullout shelving pieces. Above the stove and refrigerator are unique specialty moldings. Lighting of both the interior and lower under cabinets provide a warm touch and excellent task lighting. All cabinets are topped with a nicely fitted granite and stone and glass backsplash. The details of this kitchen are never ending. What would be would beauty be without the function. Cooking on this 60”Wolf charbroiled/griddle cook top would be any chefs dream. Overhead remote fan venting is not only quiet, put powerful. Recessed condiments ledge and on the spot water supply makes this a very efficient spot to be creative. Added to team of appliances are Wolfs Double convection/bake ovens, a smartly located Microwave. Not to forget, but hard to find are Sub zeros full height 42’ side by side freezer and refrigerator. SLR Architecture Inc.This tired ranch was in dire need of an update. Formerly the kitchen was separate from the living room and the dining area was severely undersized.
SLR Architecture opened up the kitchen to the great room and defined the living and dining areas so that each space stands on it's own. With help from interior designer Justine Sterling the finishes, furniture, ad accessories were carefully considered so that the whole room works as an overall composition.
A compact mud room was carved out of the back hall from a formally over sized laundry room so the family had a convenient drop zone, also the front entry was upgraded and a new rear deck was added for easier exterior access. Lighting was carefully considered so that different zones were well lit.

Ancient SurfacesBackyard of a Northern Italian Villa Style home in a gated community called Pelican Crest in the secluded town of Newport Coast.
This home is on Pelicans Road which is possibly the most exclusive cul-de-sac of Pelican Crest.
The project started in 2006 and was completed by 2008, stone was supplied by one of our middleman local broker at the time.
All antique limestone floors were the 'Arcane' Limestone blend which is a Mediterranean Reclaimed Limestone collection that is a few centuries old.
This wonderful home has been featured in several media outlets and in both local and national print and digital publications. The home had been sold for about $15,800,000 in May 2013 by its original owners.
It is now back on the market for a whooping $20,000,000 as of April 2016 if you like to know!

Blue Heron Signature HomesDesigned and built by Terramor Homes in Raleigh, NC. This open design concept was an exciting challenge. Kitchen, Family Room and Large Eat in Kitchen are entirely open to each other for family enjoyment. When we enjoy a large family gathering, we envisioned it to be while enjoying the view of the woods, greenway and river seen from the back of the home. Since most of our gatherings extend past single table seating spaces, we wanted to plan properly for spill over onto the huge screened porch that adjoins all of the rooms for extended seating that remains all-inclusive. The screened porch is accessible from the dining area, but more impressively, by a 16 foot wide sliding glass door across the back wall of the Family Room. When fully opened, an 8 foot wide opening is created- making a complete extension of our living and eating areas fully integrated.
