Jennifer topped the cabinet with a simple sheet of plywood which sets the stage for the arrangement on top. Although the centerpiece of this area is the brass wall clock (another great garage sale find), the objects on display offer a variety of elements to engage with. Layering framed paintings that she sourced from Instagram, Jennifer has created a carefully curated spot that has depth in the arms of simplicity. This North Richland Hills, TX pool designed by Mike Farley is a geometric with clean lines. The PebbleSheen is Aqua Blue and the coping is Oklahoma flagstone. It was designed for privacy in a small yard. The elevation change allows more privacy and the stone pedestals with flowerpots and stone scuppers provide a soothing environment while masking the street traffic. Our clients on this project were inspired by their travels to Asia and wanted to mimic this aesthetic at their DC property. We designed a water feature that effectively masks adjacent traffic noise and maintains a small footprint.

The Natsume Basin, or cleansing basin, is an important part of the ceremonial tea garden process. You dip the bamboo ladle or “dipper” (hishaku) into the basin to clean your hands before entering the tea house.
