Cape Cod; Dennis, MA
This Cape Cod-style bathroom features a double vanity that blends classic design with functional elegance. The vanity itself is a prominent feature, with its clean, white cabinetry and polished hardware. It includes two separate sink areas, each with a white countertop and a mirror above. Between the two sinks, a central tower cabinet provides additional storage, featuring both a tall cabinet and a set of four drawers below it.
The lighting adds to the room's traditional aesthetic, with two elegant wall sconces placed between the mirrors. Each sconce has a white shade and a polished metal backplate, providing a warm and balanced light. The walls are finished with classic wainscoting, which adds texture and a coastal feel to the space.
On the left side of the vanity, a freestanding tub is visible, hinting at a larger, luxurious bathroom layout. On the right, a glass-paneled sliding door leads to what appears to be a shower, suggesting a well-organized and modern-functional space. The flooring is a light, natural stone tile, which complements the overall color palette and adds to the serene, spa-like atmosphere.

Located in one of the Ritz residential towers in Boston, the project was a complete renovation. The design and scope of work included the entire residence from marble flooring throughout, to movement of walls, new kitchen, bathrooms, all furnishings, lighting, closets, artwork and accessories. Smart home sound and wifi integration throughout including concealed electronic window treatments.
The challenge for the final project design was multifaceted. First and foremost to maintain a light, sheer appearance in the main open areas, while having a considerable amount of seating for living, dining and entertaining purposes. All the while giving an inviting peaceful feel,
and never interfering with the view which was of course the piece de resistance throughout.
Bringing a unique, individual feeling to each of the private rooms to surprise and stimulate the eye while navigating through the residence was also a priority and great pleasure to work on, while incorporating small details within each room to bind the flow from area to area which would not be necessarily obvious to the eye, but palpable in our minds in a very suttle manner. The combination of luxurious textures throughout brought a third dimension into the environments, and one of the many aspects that made the project so exceptionally unique, and a true pleasure to have created. Designer Pierre Paulin made a statement with the Slice Chair. He championed playfulness, unlike some of his peers, who supported practicality above all else. The clever design seems to change at every angle and color, depending on where you are standing and how it is upholstered. This multifaceted appearance is what keeps this piece fresh. The Slice Chair is a fantastic expression of the belief that design can be fun while still staying true to the functionality of mid-century modern style.

The bath has no natural light. To create a sense of spatial depth and layering of light, 3 L-shaped panels were positioned throughout the room. One central panel joins the back wall with the ceiling. Another panel links two walls in the back corner of the tub. The third panel carries the mirror at the vanity. Each panel is outlined with waterproof LED strips recessed behind its edge. Diffuse light emanates from behind the panels and they appearance to float. The face of each panel is divided into two surfaces striking a datum line at 74 inches above the floor. The vanity panel has mirror on the lower portion and flat white paint above. The tub and middle panels are semi-gloss grey colored paint below and white flat paint above. The central panel is a nod to the Ellsworth Kelly painting at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation in St Louis.
The same matte finish tile is used on the floor and walls. All exposed tile edges were finished with aluminum angles. The same tile floor was used in the owner’s closet featuring lacquered cabinets and a back-lit vanity panel.

This ocean-front shingled Gambrel style house is home to a young family with little kids who lead an active, outdoor lifestyle. My goal was to create a bespoke, colorful and eclectic interior that looked sophisticated and fresh, but that was tough enough to withstand salt, sand and wet kids galore. The palette of coral and blue is an obvious choice, but we tried to translate it into a less expected, slightly updated way, hence the front door! Liberal use of indoor-outdoor fabrics created a seamless appearance while preserving the utility needed for this full time seaside residence.

Brightness and light coexist seamlessly with vibrant punches of french blue in this master bathroom. While simple in appearance details like the marble profiles which serve as backdrops to the tub and custom vanities add luxuriant layers and quiet visual interest.

The white bedding keeps the feel of this master bedroom light and bright. The deeper purple tones are rendered on the upright elements of the bed instead of on its flat planes, where they might appear "heavy" and could "ground" the viewer emotionally.

Artistic Tile | Calacatta Gold Broken Joint Mosaic. Designed by Scott Horne and Photographed by Sara Tramp.
A classic Italian polished white marble accented by soft grey and gold veining, Calacatta Gold is a highly desired luxurious stone. Its sophisticated and elegant appearance has graced beautiful homes for centuries. Along with being readily available in slab and various tile formats, Calacatta Gold is the perfect choice for our Tailored To custom mosaic and waterjet patterns.

When the homeowners first purchased the 1925 house, it was compartmentalized, outdated, and completely unfunctional for their growing family. Casework designed the owner's previous kitchen and family room and was brought in to lead up the creative direction for the project. Casework teamed up with architect Paul Crowther and brother sister team Ainslie Davis on the addition and remodel of the Colonial.
The existing kitchen and powder bath were demoed and walls expanded to create a new footprint for the home. This created a much larger, more open kitchen and breakfast nook with mudroom, pantry and more private half bath. In the spacious kitchen, a large walnut island perfectly compliments the homes existing oak floors without feeling too heavy. Paired with brass accents, Calcutta Carrera marble countertops, and clean white cabinets and tile, the kitchen feels bright and open - the perfect spot for a glass of wine with friends or dinner with the whole family.
There was no official master prior to the renovations. The existing four bedrooms and one separate bathroom became two smaller bedrooms perfectly suited for the client’s two daughters, while the third became the true master complete with walk-in closet and master bath. There are future plans for a second story addition that would transform the current master into a guest suite and build out a master bedroom and bath complete with walk in shower and free standing tub.
Overall, a light, neutral palette was incorporated to draw attention to the existing colonial details of the home, like coved ceilings and leaded glass windows, that the homeowners fell in love with. Modern furnishings and art were mixed in to make this space an eclectic haven.
