Guest Bathroom - This Guest bathroom offers a tub/shower and large vanity in one room and across the hall is a powder room with a small vanity and toilet. The large white tile in the tub area are stacked to offer a very clean look. The client wanted a glass door but without the track. We installed a swing door that covers about half the tub area. The vanities have flat door and drawer fronts for a very clean transitional looks that is accented with round brass hardware. The mirror is built-in to a featured tile wall and framed by two alabaster sconces. The dark blue tile floor complements the vanities and the age of the overall home. The powder room features three floating shelves for décor and storage.

Gazing into the primary bathroom, this space is reminiscent of both timeless styling and refined inspiration. Warm furniture and antique accents complement the monochromatic yet bold Striato Olimpo “Leather” floors in a chic chevron pattern. The Duravit tub creates dimension and coziness while natural light floods this space through large windows and ceiling sun tunnels. To give potential residents a sense for what their custom home could look like at The Bluffs, Blue Heron partnered with Cantoni to furnish a model home and create interiors that would complement the Vegas Modern™ architectural style. “We were really trying to introduce something that hadn’t been seen before in our area. Mathew and his team at Cummings Architects have a knack for being able to see the perfect vision for a property. They specialize in identifying a building’s missing elements and crafting designs that simultaneously encompass the large scale, master plan and the myriad details that make a home special. For this Winchester home, the vision included a variety of complementary projects that all came together into a single architectural composition. Starting with the exterior, the single-lane driveway was extended and a new carriage garage that was designed to blend with the overall context of the existing home. In addition to covered parking, this building also provides valuable new storage areas accessible via large, double doors that lead into a connected work area. For the interior of the house, new moldings on bay windows, window seats, and two paneled fireplaces with mantles dress up previously nondescript rooms. The family room was extended to the rear of the house and opened up with the addition of generously sized, wall-to-wall windows that served to brighten the space and blur the boundary between interior and exterior. The family room, with its intimate sitting area, cozy fireplace, and charming breakfast table (the best spot to enjoy a sunlit start to the day) has become one of the family’s favorite rooms, offering comfort and light throughout the day. In the kitchen, the layout was simplified and changes were made to allow more light into the rear of the home via a connected deck with elongated steps that lead to the yard and a blue-stone patio that’s perfect for entertaining smaller, more intimate groups. From driveway to family room and back out into the yard, each detail in this beautiful design complements all the other concepts and details so that the entire plan comes together into a unified vision for a spectacular home. As a large studio, we decided to combine the living and bedroom area - creating the feeling of a master suite! The sleek living space features a yellow upholstered loveseat and two modern orange chairs. These bright but warm hues subtly stand out against the dark grey backdrop, espresso-toned hardwood floors, and charcoal-colored coffee table. The bedroom area complements the dark hues of the living room but takes on a unique look of its own. With an exposed brick accent wall, gold and black decor, and crisp white bedding - the dark grey from the headboard creates congruency within the open space. A bachelor pad Bruce Wayne would approve of, this 1,000 square-foot Yaletown property belonging to a successful inventor-entrepreneur was to be soiree central for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. A concept juxtaposing rawness with sophistication was agreed on, morphing what was an average two bedroom in its previous life to a loft with concrete floors and brick walls revealed and complemented with gloss, walnut, chrome and Corian. All the manly bells and whistle are built-in too, including Control4 smart home automation, custom beer trough and acoustical features to prevent party noise from reaching the neighbours.

This functional, light-filled home takes full advantage of its bucolic site. With the introduction of the butterfly roof, natural light, ventilation and views are brought into the main gathering spaces. Distance between the private and public zones is created by a shift in geometry where those two meet in plan, to provide a calming and rejuvenating private retreat for the occupants. Our Lakewood clients came to Advance Design dreaming of a home spa with fresh, clean, elegant details. The design process was important, as our clients had found polished nickel sconces that set the tone for the design. Our designer moved the toilet to the other side of the existing layout to open up the space and let more light in. Once the layout was set and the 3D illustrations completed, our clients were sold. The finished product is better than our clients ever imagined. They achieved a five-star master bath feel in the comfort of their own home. The fresh and clean vibe is evident in the master bath vanity, with Sea Salt Maple Cabinets from Medallion. These bright white cabinets are complemented by the Calacatta Quartz countertop with undermount sinks and stainless-steel Kohler faucets. Hexagon Firenze Carrara Honed tile covers the floor, and shower floor adding stunning texture. A large glass shower is lined by 4 x 12” Firenze Carrara Polished tile that matches the flooring. The stainless-steel shower fixtures from Rohl are truly unique. Gold accents in the mirror and pendant light fixture contrast the bright white colors of the tub and walls. It wouldn’t be surprising to see this bathroom in a five-star hotel.
