The "Man's Lav" by Kohler provides an oversized sink for masculine appeal. The contemporary Kohler faucet coordinated with all of the shower components. Laying out the template for the vanity top, we were able to have the dark brown veins in the granite be positioned in the front of the top so it would coordinate with the rich brown color of the vanity.

The idea behind this soft contemporary bathroom was to create a tranquil space for its owners to retreat to after a long day. The clean lines and sleek hardware keep the space looking contemporary while the neutral tones and horizontal tiles add a calming, spa-like affect. Functional storage was a key component of the bathroom. We added pull-outs below the sink, jewelry/make-up dividers in the vanity drawer and a pullout grooming organizer. Our client’s intention was to make this bathroom suite a very specialized spa retreat. She envisioned exquisite, highly crafted components and loved the colors gold and purple. We were challenged to mix contemporary, traditional and rustic features. Also on the wish-list were a sizeable wardrobe room and a meditative loft-like retreat. Hydronic heated flooring was installed throughout. The numerous features in this project required replacement of the home’s plumbing and electrical systems. The cedar ceiling and other places in the room replicate what is found in the rest of the home. The project encompassed 400 sq. feet. Features found at one end of the suite are new stained glass windows – designed to match to existing, a Giallo Rio slab granite platform and a Carlton clawfoot tub. The platform is banded at the floor by a mosaic of 1″ x 1″ glass tile. Near the tub platform area is a large walnut stained vanity with Contemporary slab door fronts and shaker drawers. This is the larger of two separate vanities. Each are enhanced with hand blown artisan pendant lighting. A custom fireplace is centrally placed as a dominant design feature. The hammered copper that surrounds the fireplace and vent pipe were crafted by a talented local tradesman. It is topped with a Café Imperial marble. A lavishly appointed shower is the centerpiece of the bathroom suite. The many slabs of granite used on this project were chosen for the beautiful veins of quartz, purple and gold that our client adores. Two distinct spaces flank a small vanity; the wardrobe and the loft-like Magic Room. Both precisely fulfill their intended practical and meditative purposes. A floor to ceiling wardrobe and oversized built-in dresser keep clothing, shoes and accessories organized. The dresser is topped with the same marble used atop the fireplace and inset into the wardrobe flooring. The Magic Room is a space for resting, reading or just gazing out on the serene setting. The reading lights are Oil Rubbed Bronze. A drawer within the step up to the loft keeps reading and writing materials neatly tucked away. Within the highly customized space, marble, granite, copper and art glass come together in a harmonious design that is organized for maximum rejuvenation that pleases our client to not end! Inspiration for a mid-sized industrial master brown floor and medium tone wood floor alcove shower remodel in Charleston with open cabinets, gray cabinets, white walls, marble countertops, a wall-mount sink and a hinged shower door

Custom entertainment center and coffee bar in a renovated master bedroom space using maple Verona doors and drawers with a Driftwood wiping stain. Our client wanted an entertainment center/computer station combination design. The challenge was to house the TV and components while also providing space for one to two computer monitors and file storage which could be hidden when not in use. They wanted to be able to watch television while working at the computer. Custom elements include two fold down desks with grey inset leather, flip up doors that house the computer and monitors, four large pull-out file drawers, and louvered door cabinet which houses their subwoofer. The coffee bar was nestled into a small nook and had a step blocking part of the space. We elongated the lower cabinet face frame to accommodate the step so our client did not lose any storage space.

These clients were in the second stage of renovating their stylish Tudor when we were approached to help formulate a final design plan for entertainment, technology integration and lighting design and control systems. Although the plan was to implement the final completion of these systems in stages, we needed to prepare the appropriate wiring to accomplish the end goals. We provided a lighting design plan for the areas under construction and some simple control solutions from Lutron and Universal Remote Control. Once the Family room was completed we brought in the BDI Novia A/V Cabinet in Coco stained Cherry. This excellent piece of A/V furniture was just large enough to house the entertainment system along with the homes WiFi router. The A/V system was built around a Denon AVR 3809Ci. Source components consisted of Comcast Cable HD DVR, Samsung Blu-Ray DVD player and an Apple TV. The Apple TV was the primarily used for playing the clients music and sharing their family pictures on the 50” Samsung LED TV. The Samsung Blu-Ray DVD player was designed with an internet application for Pandora Radio which is a great way to experience a wide variety of music by creating sets of personable radio stations. Listing to the entertainment system is a real joy with the Totem Tribe in-wall speakers. These sealed cabinet in-wall speakers are some of the best in the world for a very reasonable price. The Velodyne MiniVee 10 was used as the subwoofer. Panamax surge protection was incorporated for everything including the TV. The Universal Remote Control MX-980 was programmed to operate the primary entertainment system along with multiple audio zones for Kitchen, Dining, Patio, Master Bed & Bathroom through the Aton DLA6 zoned speaker selector and volume controller. Additional MX900 was used to support the master suite control within that area. A Lutron Graphic eye was used in the Dining room to manage all of the lighting scenes while the Family room was controlled via the MX-980 remote and RF replacement wall dimmers. This was a great balance of budget and appropriate user interface options. Client

A sumptuous upholstered bed in a beige just dark enough to provide a contrast to the wall color, sets the stage for the overlay of soft colors. Pared down to the pure tones of the sand, surf and sea, this master bedroom is the picture of serenity. Distinct Kamala bedding is showcased by the perfect blend of of blue, tan and beige colorblocks on panel drapes. Natural wood and soft white bedside tables reflect the preferences of this couple for both beauty practicality. A large dresser with special hardware conceals the bulky array of components so often crowding a bedroom with digital displays, glaring light and rows of knobs. These homeowners approached Renovisions to remodel their master bath. With their kids off at college it was time to do something for themselves. They wanted an elegant upscale look with a spacious shower with glass enclosure, a high-end whirlpool bathtub and custom built in for towels. Their existing tub presented a safety issue when they opened & closed the windows which were located directly behind the tub. The new design includes a free standing tub/whirlpool with custom rounded and removable wood panels to access electrical and plumbing components. This allows a safe pass way around the tub as well as a more open feel. The adjacent shower boasts a generous space with an open style created by the use of 3/8” shower glass enclosure on 2 sides. Custom cubbies and corner seat were built into the Crema marfil marble tiles. 12″x24″ porcelain tiles were installed in a herringbone pattern providing a beautiful and unique appearance setting a neutral stage to showcase the burgundy cherry custom vanities with beaded detail and matching tower with Victorian glass. Crema Marfil marble countertops on the vanities and slab on tub featured ogee edges lending a real elegant feel to the room. The Piece de Resistance was the exquisite antique brass widespread faucets, hand held shower, shower head, matching antique brass accessories and cabinet hardware all decorated with Swarovski cut crystals.
