Design Director Zoe Lee’s passion for customization is evident in this city residence where she melds the elevated experience of luxury hotels with a soft and inviting atmosphere that feels welcoming. Lee’s panache for artful contrasts pairs the richness of strong materials, such as oak and porcelain, with the sophistication of contemporary silhouettes. “The goal was to create a sense of indulgence and comfort, making every moment spent in the homea truly memorable one,” says Lee. By enlivening a once-predominantly white colour scheme with muted hues and tactile textures, Lee was able to impart a characterful countenance that still feels comfortable. She relied on subtle details to ensure this is a residence infused with softness. “The carefully placed and concealed LED light strips throughout create a gentle and ambient illumination,” says Lee. “They conjure a warm ambiance, while adding a touch of modernity.” Further finishes include a Shaker feature wall in the living room. It extends seamlessly to the room’s double-height ceiling, adding an element of continuity and establishing a connection with the primary ensuite’s wood panelling. “This integration of design elements creates a cohesive and visually appealing atmosphere,” Lee says. The ensuite’s dramatically veined marble-look is carried from the walls to the countertop and even the cabinet doors. “This consistent finish serves as another unifying element, transforming the individual components into a captivating feature wall. It adds an elegant touch to the overall aesthetic of the space.” Pops of black hardware throughout channel that elegance and feel welcoming. Lee says, “The furnishings’ unique characteristics and visual appeal contribute to a sense of continuous luxury – it is now a home that is both bespoke and wonderfully beckoning.”

They were seeking a more cohesive design element throughout the home and were very much in need of more functional spaces with better storage. By eliminating the built-in tub in the primary bathroom we were able to expand the footprint of the shower to the limits of the skylight for a sinuous transition. We added a tall storage cabinet for bath items, linens and also the concealed housing for the steam shower components. The vanity was extended to the window for more storage and a second sink making the shared space much more enjoyable. In the basement, finishing out some of the unfinished space with bright, clean, and low maintenance finishes helped to expand the livable footprint of the basement and created the perfect opportunity for a very fun “tiny house”. This, along with an updated and fully finished living space, created a very inviting and comfortable family space for adults and children to enjoy together. This very contemporary translation of a more rustic, organic mood is an artful solution to the desire for naturally-inspired design with a modern touch. The components each feature key elements derived from our surroundings – the warmth of wood and rich earth tones redefined into bathroom fixtures which transcend conformity. The impressive countertop has been fashioned from natural oak, as if hewn straight out of a solid slab, its slightly irregular, bevelled edges the only concession to detailing. The stain resistant qualities and low surface moisture absorbency of this washbasin are functional and easy to clean. Beneath, the elegant and very useful, clip handle, 3-drawer cabinet, again striking in its simplicity of design and its rich, earth toned matt lacquer finish. The streamlined styling of this cabinet works in perfect harmony with the sink console providing generous storage in both the drawers and cabinet top. The lacquer finish ensures hard-wearing, easy clean, hygienic beauty. The idea behind this soft contemporary bathroom was to create a tranquil space for its owners to retreat to after a long day. The clean lines and sleek hardware keep the space looking contemporary while the neutral tones and horizontal tiles add a calming, spa-like affect. Functional storage was a key component of the bathroom. We added pull-outs below the sink, jewelry/make-up dividers in the vanity drawer and a pullout grooming organizer. The low budget, family house project posed a challenge of conveniently arranging multiple rooms in small area. Pre-reconstruction edges of the walls were toned down, in order to conform to the new, minimalistic aesthetics and letting two colors prevail in the interior was also the part of the concept. The white walls and the large mirrors make the space appear sizable. The wooden components of the interior bring an unifying ambience into play. The technical lighting illuminates the rooms without distracting the eye. In-house designer, Julie, used a monochromatic theme keeping it very clean and crisp for this master bedroom. The room features a beige, linen platform bed, which is actually a motorized, custom bed. The owner can adjust the side rails to hide all of the components. Julie chose a cotton blend for the nailhead trim headboard.

Renovating the master bath involved removing the large jaccuzzi tube and designing a free standing white porcelain tub. The back drop of the wall behind the tub are two blue cobalt slabs of porcelain book-matched to create striking art to contrast the white tile and components of this bathroom.
