This master bath went from drab to high tech! We took our client's love for the view of the lake behind his home and turned it into a space where the outside could be let in and where the privacy won't be let out. We re configured the space and made a full wet room with large open shower and luxury tub. The vanities were demolished and a floating vanity from Canyon Creek Cabinets was installed. Soothing Waterworks Statuary white marble adorns the walls. A Schluter tileable kerdi drain and A Kohler DTV controls the shower with dual rainshower heads, the Kohler Numi commode does it all by remote as well as the remote controlled electrified glass that frosts and unfrosts at the touch of a button! This bath is as gorgeous as it is serene and functional! In the Entry, we added the same electrified glass into a custom built front door for this home. The master bath cabinet layout was inspired by the high ceilings and the functionality of a master bath. Having a large tower added extra storage and added to the eloquent space with its size. The quartz countertops created a clean look in the dark gray. The large shower tiles added texture with the veining. The shower niches were a great spot to add more character and whimsy to the white and gray shower.

2011 NARI CAPITAL COTY MERIT AWARD WINNER; 2012 QUALIFIED REMODELER MASTER DESIGN AWARD This 1950 brick colonial featured a floor plan typical of homes of that era--small boxy rooms, each separated by four walls. The young couple who owned the home loved its potential, but needed more space. The main goal of this project was to create a seamless and open floor plan on the first floor, adding a family room and enlarging the kitchen. A master bedroom and bathroom suite were planned to make better use of the second level. To accomplish these goals, a 20’ x 20’ two-story addition was designed by Michael Nash Design, Build & Homes. The new expanded kitchen and family room features limestone floors, a new gas fireplace surrounded with built-ins and glass stone hearth to complement the kitchen countertops and backsplash. Use of espresso colored cabinetry topped by a light granite countertop with brown veins running through it is one of the decorative touches that make this project stunning. The large middle island which consists of a second sink, wine chiller and seating space is another bonus point of this kitchen. Commercial quality appliances assure gourmet cooking at its finest. Large first floor windows face the home’s new flagstone patio, which can be accessed via a French door. The second floor consists of the master bedroom with a sitting area , French doors leading into a French balcony facing back yard, double-sided stoned gas fireplace (between the bedroom and master bath) and a cathedral ceiling. The master bathroom features a large steam shower, body sprays and rain shower, a large double person Jacuzzi, tumbled marble floor and wall tiles with accents. The use of wide plank exotic tiger wood has beautified this master suite. Keeping the homeowners’ contemporary style in mind and achieving their wishes has transformed this old 1950 colonial into a fully functional 21st Century dream home.

This home had a previous master bathroom remodel and addition with poor layout. Our homeowners wanted a whole new suite that was functional and beautiful. They wanted the new bathroom to feel bigger with more functional space. Their current bathroom was choppy with too many walls. The lack of storage in the bathroom and the closet was a problem and they hated the cabinets. They have a really nice large back yard and the views from the bathroom should take advantage of that. We decided to move the main part of the bathroom to the rear of the bathroom that has the best view and combine the closets into one closet, which required moving all of the plumbing, as well as the entrance to the new bathroom. Where the old toilet, tub and shower were is now the new extra-large closet. We had to frame in the walls where the glass blocks were once behind the tub and the old doors that once went to the shower and water closet. We installed a new soft close pocket doors going into the water closet and the new closet. A new window was added behind the tub taking advantage of the beautiful backyard. In the partial frameless shower we installed a fogless mirror, shower niches and a large built in bench. . An articulating wall mount TV was placed outside of the closet, to be viewed from anywhere in the bathroom. The homeowners chose some great floating vanity cabinets to give their new bathroom a more modern feel that went along great with the large porcelain tile flooring. A decorative tumbled marble mosaic tile was chosen for the shower walls, which really makes it a wow factor! New recessed can lights were added to brighten up the room, as well as four new pendants hanging on either side of the three mirrors placed above the seated make-up area and sinks. Our goal with this project was to create a family friendly space that was still a calming master retreat. Light wood-look tile, laid in a herringbone pattern, allowed durability while not sacrificing style. Casual, low-maintenance bedding in a neutral palette accented with pops of natural wood, green, and brass create a muted coastal feel. Patterned runners on either side of the bed were a special request of the family. Small and lush washable rugs are a stylish alternative to a large, and hard to keep clean, area rug. Practical storage and seating created needed function on a previously blank tv wall.

A large, less restrictive space can sometimes be a challenge to remodel as the possibilities are truly unlimited. The goal was to create a functional and warm space that still felt open, clean and utilized the large space well. Custom glass panel cabinetry with sliding doors and a central drawer bank features ample storage and even multiple standard outlets inside. Vessel sinks sit atop the custom quartz counters that compliment the stone resin free standing bath. On the back side of the central wall is a walk in, from both sides, his and hers shower. Custom tile through out ties both sides of this large bath together. The shower features multiple niches.

Situated along Eagle River, looking across to the mouth of the Ipswich Harbor, this was clearly a little cape house that was married to the sea. The owners were inquiring about adding a simple shed dormer to provide additional exposure to the stunning water view, but they were also interested in what Mathew would design if this beach cottage were his. Inspired by the waves that came ashore mere feet from the little house, Mathew took up a fat marker and sketched a sweeping, S-shape dormer on the waterside of the building. He then described how the dormer would be designed in the shape of an ocean wave. “This way,” he explained, “you will not only be able to see the ocean from your new master bedroom, you’ll also be able to experience that view from a space that actually reflects the spirit of the waves.” Mathew and his team designed the master suite and study using a subtle combination of contemporary and traditional, beach-house elements. The result was a completely unique and one-of-a-kind space inside and out. Transparencies are built into the design via features like gently curved glass that reflects the water and the arched interior window separating the bedroom and bath. On the exterior, the curved dormer on the street side echoes these rounded shapes and lines to create continuity throughout. The sense of movement is accentuated by the continuous, V-groove boarded ceiling that runs from one ocean-shaped dormer through to the opposite side of the house. The bedroom features a cozy sitting area with built in storage and a porthole window to look out onto the rowboats in the harbor. A bathroom and closet were combined into a single room in a modern design that doesn't sacrifice any style or space and provides highly efficient functionality. A striking barn door made of glass with industrial hardware divides the two zones of the master suite. The custom, built-in maple cabinetry of the closets provides a textural counterpoint to the unique glass shower that incorporates sea stones and an ocean wave motif accent tile. With this spectacular design vision, the owners are now able to enjoy their stunning view from a bright and spacious interior that brings the natural elements of the beach into the home.
