A sophisticated and mature feast for the eyes. This client was looking to create a hotel-worthy master-ensuite. By introducing marble from corner-to-corner, the subtle veins in the background make the wood grained vanity the focal point and truly accentuate the round mirror.

This guest bathroom remodel was designed to mirror the coastal experience of Virginia Beach, by introducing driftwood tiles and quiet tones of gray and blue.

Warm gray porcelain tiles create a modern masculine feel in this recent Woodley Park-DC bathroom remodel. The custom live edge walnut shelves introduce a natural element against the contemporary floating quartz countertop and backsplash. A non-working whirlpool tub was replaced with a generous walk-in shower and frameless glass enclosure. Two seven-foot-high skylights flood the bathroom with natural light and keep the space feeling open and airy.

Upon stepping into this master bedroom for the first time a few design issues immediately struck me. One being the bed placement against what was the original fireplace in the room. The second was the wall and area rug color and the general blandness of the yellow especially against the white of the original paneled door and window moldings. Thirdly, the general fussiness and extensive amount of stuff everywhere. There needed to a more organized way to stay on top of the day to day clutter that accumulates regularly. Photo: Ward Roberts

The comfortable elegance of this French-Country inspired home belies the challenges faced during its conception. The beautiful, wooded site was steeply sloped requiring study of the location, grading, approach, yard and views from and to the rolling Pennsylvania countryside. The client desired an old world look and feel, requiring a sensitive approach to the extensive program. Large, modern spaces could not add bulk to the interior or exterior. Furthermore, it was critical to balance voluminous spaces designed for entertainment with more intimate settings for daily living while maintaining harmonic flow throughout.
The result home is wide, approached by a winding drive terminating at a prominent facade embracing the motor court. Stone walls feather grade to the front façade, beginning the masonry theme dressing the structure. A second theme of true Pennsylvania timber-framing is also introduced on the exterior and is subsequently revealed in the formal Great and Dining rooms. Timber-framing adds drama, scales down volume, and adds the warmth of natural hand-wrought materials. The Great Room is literal and figurative center of this master down home, separating casual living areas from the elaborate master suite. The lower level accommodates casual entertaining and an office suite with compelling views. The rear yard, cut from the hillside, is a composition of natural and architectural elements with timber framed porches and terraces accessed from nearly every interior space flowing to a hillside of boulders and waterfalls.
The result is a naturally set, livable, truly harmonious, new home radiating old world elegance. This home is powered by a geothermal heating and cooling system and state of the art electronic controls and monitoring systems.

Aquatica True Ofuro Black Freestanding Stone Japanese Soaking Bathtub
Since it was first introduced, Aquatica’s Ofuro series has proved very popular, due in large part to its inspiration – the ancient traditions of Japanese bathing.
Modern-day bathers love the ability to sit and soak in this superb, contemporary interpretation of olden-style Japanese wooden tub, which provides bathers with a perfectly designed, sculpted bath with internal seat and elevated rim for neck and head support, in which they can immerse themselves up to their neck.
Now, the True Ofuro offers bath lovers one more exciting option – the choice of Graphite Black using our award-winning and ground-breaking AquateX™ solid surface composite, around which to create your stunning new bathroom décor.
Ofuro is also available with an optional inline water heater and digital control panel with temperature display, which will reduce water consumption and provide for a prolonged soaking experience at very comfortable temperatures.
Thanks to the AquateX™ material, this Japanese soaking tub retains heat for much longer and has a silky and smooth surface. Besides being one of our most space conscious bathtubs, the freestanding and petite construction of this Japanese style bathtub means that it can be installed pretty much anywhere in your bathroom.

The Master Bedroom was cosmetically changed to introduce a chocolate brown accent wall behind the bed, custom window coverings and refinished floors, as well as some complimentary furniture to the existing bed.
