Functionality was another significant issue; the space was disjointed and inefficient. During the design phase, they collaborated with our in-house designer and one of the initial steps involved updating the color palette to infuse the design with a contemporary and quietness sense. The outdated cabinets were lacking in storage space, so we upgraded them to Solid Designer Series Corona Oyster Clear Alder cabinets, paired with Bianco Pearl Quartz countertops with a waterfall edge on the left side. The Jeffrey Alexander Boswell cabinet handles, coupled with the Delta Trinsic Widespread Faucets, infuse the space with a sense of elegance and vintage feel, completely transforming the room's overall feel. The old bathtub was no longer working, so they decided to add a large custom shower that included a wet area, pony wall, and dry-off area. They chose the Annie Selke Flora Coconut Milk Porcelain 18x18" tile to create a stunning wall. To craft a showstopper, we adorned the shower floor with Pebble Mosaic Warm Blend, achieving a breathtaking result. The remaining shower fixtures were impeccably selected to bring the dream shower to life. Each space underwent a massive transformation in order to create the elegant & traditional aesthetic that our clients love. On the main level of the home, the original space layout was extremely compartmentalized and dark. Our clients wanted to open up and brighten the space as much as possible. In addition to this, a major goal was to increase function and to create a welcoming environment for guests and the clients alike. We started by opening up the space plan significantly. This allows for flowing space between the kitchen, front living room, and rear family room. Light is better carried through these spaces, and further emphasized with airy colors, light cabinetry, and a better lighting plan overall. We removed the old decorative ceiling beams and reworked closets and hallways to create a more open and functional main level. The kitchen offers a large amount of counter space and storage opportunity, but also welcomes guests at a sizable island and secondary peninsula. Beyond the kitchen, we designed a work nook where display storage and functional workspace are both present. We reworked both fireplaces in the home to create warm nooks for gathering: both fireplaces feature large format stone and are flanked with display shelving. The master bathroom upstairs was completely reworked as well. We eliminated the oversized drop-in tub and in-wall fireplace, and took away the steam shower that had been causing water and mildew issues for years. We relocated the toilet and developed a gorgeous vanity area in the space where the old bathtub and fireplace used to be. We then created a massive shower room in lieu of a tub/shower combination. The bathroom is adorned with warm tones and natural textures: marble subway tile runs up the entire wall behind the vanity, wood-look porcelain covers the floor and back wall of the shower, and simple artisan subway tiles in a creamy vanilla tone cover the shower walls. Garnett Valley PA master bath remodel. These clients wanted a larger shower but windows facing the front of the home and the long linear shape of the bath created a unique design challenge. Steve Vickers conquered that issue with his new design. The door of the shower is angled at the window allowing more depth so the new shower could be a foot wider while still leaving a 26” shower door entrance. New Fabuwood vanity cabinets and linen closet in Galaxy Horizon finish; provide needed extra storage. New granite countertops, shower wall caps, and seat along with new tile make this shower and bath look complete.

Featured in Montreal Home 2015 Kitchen issue. Well situated in Mont Royal, this split-level home had many positives apart from its dated interior, and layout of many small and inefficient rooms. This was all at odds with the owners’ lifestyle and aesthetic. The client had architectural plans designed for a third floor addition that were to include a master bedroom and ensuite bathroom. The desired look for the entire house influenced all aspects of construction. Apart from the removal most walls on the main floor, everything was stripped back to the most simple and pure of finishing materials. The existing floors were refinished in a smoked grey matte palette and offset the rich warm walnut accents in the kitchen and soft white walls. With an abundance of white walls throughout, feature walls were essential in both the master bedroom and ensuite. The deep charcoal wall in the bedroom provides dramatic contrast to the teak headboard and hammered silver light fixture. The ensuite’s feature wall is made of pewter ceramic tiles that add texture and elegance to this simple space. Materials and furnishings throughout were selected for their simplicity and form. This is a kitchen/addition. We added on to gain space in the kitchen and dining room and created a laundry closet to help with space issues. Bright, clean and functional this kitchen is exactly what the client was looking for!

A long & narrow master bathroom & closet gets a stylish, sophisticated upgrade from designer Rachel Peterson of Simply Baths, Inc. The former bathroom & closet combination was dark and cluttered, lacking in personality and in great need of a refresh. Combining the homeowner's vision and Peterson's creative expertise, Simply Baths transformed the bathroom into a soothing transitional space that is both wonderfully luxurious and perfectly restrained.
