The program consists of a detached Guest House with full Kitchen, Living and Dining amenities, Carport and Office Building with attached Main house and Master Bedroom wing. The arrangement of buildings was dictated by the numerous majestic oaks and organized as a procession of spaces leading from the Entry arbor up to the front door. Large covered terraces and arbors were used to extend the interior living spaces out onto the site. All the buildings are clad in Texas limestone with accent bands of Leuders limestone to mimic the local limestone cliffs in the area. Steel was used on the arbors and fences and left to rust. Vertical grain Douglas fir was used on the interior while flagstone and stained concrete floors were used throughout. The flagstone floors extend from the exterior entry arbors into the interior of the Main Living space and out onto the Main house terraces.

Calacatta Capri is a new quartz slab that can transform any interior application. Calacatta Capri quartz features a stark white background with warm-colored narrow veins. The vein structure is very proportionate throughout the unit, which display's how far innovation and master craftsmanship has come in the engineering process of quartz slabs. Calacatta Capri is offered in large format and has a vein matching option to ensure that your countertops flow together seamlessly.

We love to collaborate, whenever and wherever the opportunity arises. For this mountainside retreat, we entered at a unique point in the process—to collaborate on the interior architecture—lending our expertise in fine finishes and fixtures to complete the spaces, thereby creating the perfect backdrop for the family of furniture makers to fill in each vignette. Catering to a design-industry client meant we sourced with singularity and sophistication in mind, from matchless slabs of marble for the kitchen and master bath to timeless basin sinks that feel right at home on the frontier and custom lighting with both industrial and artistic influences. We let each detail speak for itself in situ.

Custom cabinetry was designed for the specific needs of this Long Grove, Illinois couple. Getting to know the client and their patterns and personal needs are an important part of the Design process. Custom vanity seat, drawer space, shelving and other personal touches are all a part of the Interior Design process with DF Design, Inc.

The owners lived in their home as we added this gorgeous contemporary master suite addition in Del Mar. We tore off the roof of the home, added a 2nd story 654 sqft master suite and successfully minimized the disruption to their daily lives. Named “Starry Night Ranch” by the homeowners, this 3 level, 4 bedroom custom home boasts of over 9,000 square feet of combined living, garage and outdoor spaces. Well versed in the custom home building process, the homeowners spent many hours partnering with both Shan Stassens of Winsome Construction and Buck Bailey Design to add in countless unique features, including a cross hatched cable rail system, a second story window that perfectly frames a view of Mt. Hood and an entryway cut-out to keep a specialty piece of furniture tucked out of the way. From whitewashed shiplap wall coverings to reclaimed wood sliding barn doors to mosaic tile and honed granite, this farmhouse-inspired space achieves a timeless appeal with both classic comfort and modern flair.

The additional square footage will house the new master bedroom, en suite bathroom, two master closets, a laundry room and an additional bathroom for the floor. In order to extend the second floor, we had to raise the roof peak height. This allowed us to create some interesting architectural dormers on the front and rear.
