Along with these improvements, we also updated the double vanity and installed new vinyl plank flooring to pull the space together. Once we completed the material selection process, we prepared to deliver our clients ideal space.

When it came time for these clients to build their dream home, they chose our team to help bring it to life. They were interested in our guidance and ability to walk them through the process. They had many must haves for this home. Nine-foot ceilings in the foyer and great room were a must as was the exposed log roof system in the great room. Open concept on the main level was important for family time as was a dining table large enough to seat twelve. The first floor also includes a large kitchen, walk-in pantry, office large enough to become a master bedroom in the future, laundry room, and mudroom with plenty of storage and half bath nearby. Three season sunroom connecting to large patio allows even more space to enjoy family time. The second floor offers a master suite and two additional bedrooms, a sitting room, and a built-in nook for a grand piano. This modern master bathroom features custom painted grey wall-mounted cabinets, quartzite countertops, square undercount sinks, chrome faucets and grey glass backsplash tile lining the entire vanity wall. This custom made faux shiplap headboard makes an amazing focal point for a smallish bedroom. What could be a bland and uninspired becomes a relaxing retreat with a modern farmhouse feel. The headboard was whitewashed and slightly distressed to create character in the piece. The navy blue bedding pops against the large white headboard with a mustard yellow textured throw to create visual interest and the picture perfect, but lived in feeling staging strives for. The oversized shiplap headboard makes the room appear larger and makes it feel like a true master suite. The mismatched nightstands create a yin and yang effect so the room appeals to the feminine and masculine design aesthetic. Our client had the laundry room down in the basement, like so many other homes, but could not figure out how to get it upstairs. There simply was no room for it, so when we were called in to design the bathroom, we were asked to figure out a way to do what so many home owners are doing right now. That is; how do we bring the laundry room upstairs where all of the bedrooms are located, where all the dirty laundry is generated, saving us from having to go down 3 floors back and forth. So, the looming questions were, can this be done in our already small bathroom area, and If this can be done, how can we do it to make it fit within the upstairs living quarters seamlessly? It would take some creative thinking, some compromising and some clients who trust you enough to make some decisions that would affect not only their bathroom but their closets, their hallway, parts of their master bedroom and then having the logistics to work around their family, going in and out of their private sanctuary, keeping the area clean while generating a mountain of dust and debris, all in the same breath of being mindful of their precious children and a lovely dog.
