In this modest-sized master bathroom, modern and farmhouse are bound together with a white and gray color palette, accented with pops of natural wood. Floor-to-ceiling subway tiles and a frameless glass shower door provide a classic, open feel to a once-confined space. A barnwood-framed mirror, industrial hardware, exposed lightbulbs, and wood and pipe shelving complete the industrial look, while a carrara marble countertop and glazed porcelain floor tiles add a touch of luxury. We were hesitant to add a custom bench seat in the shower, as we didn’t want to reduce the usable shower space in an already modest-sized bathroom, so we opted for a natural teak shower bench. On the rear of the house was a two story screen porch running 3/4 the length of the house. On the first floor we reduced the porch size by half, to relocate the new kitchen. We enclosed the entire second floor vaulted area of the screen porch to create a new walk in closet off the existing master bedroom. We also added a new modern bathroom for my client. She decided on two separate vanities with illuminated and anti-fog mirrors. A corner shower with hand head shower head was created and a new toilet added.

In the master bath we enlarged the footprint to allow for a large seamless walk-in shower and enclosed toilet closet. The hall closets were outfitted with custom laminate shelving and roll-out. The guest bathroom layout was opened up by reducing a full wall to a half wall with glass above. The client was looking for a soft palette with bright pops of color and the finished product did not disappoint!
