The cabinets were custom designed by Tom, with straight, simple lines, and custom built by Draper DBS of walnut, with a deep, rich brown finish. The richness of the dark cabinetry juxtaposed with the elegance of the white carrara marble on the countertop, wall and floors contributes to the room's sophistication. Ample storage is found in the large vanity and an armoire style cabinet, designed to mimic a free-standing furniture piece, that is positioned behind the door. Architectural beams placed across the vaulted ceiling bring a sense of scale to the room and invite natural light in through the skylight.

The master bedroom features a soft powder blue and light gray color palette to provide a serene and peaceful space for the client. The client preferred a more traditional styling for furniture. In order to prevent the space from looking heavy and too traditional, we selected lighter colors combined with dark brown traditional furniture pieces.

Bedroom - large eclectic master dark wood floor bedroom idea in New York

This project was a full renovation of a large scale family residence in Marin County, where we designed all of the interior renovation and architectural changes, finishes, fittings and furnishings.

This master bedroom carries various themes from the attached master bathroom. The colors mostly stay within a monochromatic scale and are complimented by gold light fixtures and wall-mounted shelving.

This master bath was remodeled to allow for two vanities and a freestanding tub. The original master bath was dark and very outdated and featured mauve tile in the shower and a pink marble countertop. Space was borrowed from an adjoining kid's bathroom and an extra wide hallway to give the master bathroom more space. The client loved the thought of using blue as an accent and the layout of the bathroom created the perfect spot to feature a hand glazed blue accent tile. Carrara marble was used on the vanity walls as well as a chimney wall at the end of the tub and the shower. The result is a picture perfect bathroom to relax and enjoy!

NEXT Project Studio An attic master bathroom made to feel large. The star in the space is the Marmara marble. Not only a beautiful bathroom, but also functional. Clever storage including a pop-out drawer for the scale. One tap of the foot on the toe kick and out it pops. It can hold up to 300 pounds. This bathroom won the St. Louis AT HOME Magazine Architect and Designer awards. Jerry Voloski
