When designer Rachel Peterson of Simply Baths, Inc. first met this young, stylish couple at their house they had a small handful of items they knew they really wanted in their master bathroom: a freestanding tub, a chandelier, a larger shower and more counter space. But the truth was, the bath needed a major face-lift. The space was outdated and lacked personality. It certainly didn't reflect the homeowners and their elegant aesthetic. The combination of stone and wood tiles lends just enough of a rustic flair to bring a little bit of the outdoors in and while helping to balance some of the feminine elements in the room with simple masculine touches.

The homeowners of this small master bedroom had one large request. They wanted a king size sleigh bed.
We did not want the sleigh bed to overpower the room, so placing a small dresser on each side of the bed allowed for proper scale of the space.
The darker walls and use of neutral bedding creates a cozy and relaxing bedroom.

Tired of their outdated and chaotic master bath, this CT couple wanted to create a relaxing at-home spa with an enlarged steam shower, a soaking tub, and a soothing natural Zen aesthetic. With a clear vision of the inviting retreat these homeowners desired, design team Barry Miller & Rachel Peterson of Simply Baths, Inc. transformed the space.

This beautiful bedroom is small and narrow. The placement of the entry door, closet, windows, and bathroom door made space planning difficult. With proper measurements and planning, anything is possible - even in a small space.

Attention to detail turned this bland master bathroom into an elegant retreat. From the mosaic marble accents, to the board and baton beadboard paneling, to the decorative arches on the cabinetry toe kick – no area of this space is ignored or cast aside. Designed by Rachel Peterson of Simply Baths, Inc., the bathroom is delicate and poised.

This tiny home is located on a treelined street in the Kitsilano neighborhood of Vancouver. We helped our client create a living and dining space with a beach vibe in this small front room that comfortably accommodates their growing family of four. The starting point for the decor was the client's treasured antique chaise (positioned under the large window) and the scheme grew from there. We employed a few important space saving techniques in this room... One is building seating into a corner that doubles as storage, the other is tucking a footstool, which can double as an extra seat, under the custom wood coffee table. The TV is carefully concealed in the custom millwork above the fireplace. Finally, we personalized this space by designing a family gallery wall that combines family photos and shadow boxes of treasured keepsakes. A soft and sophisticated master bedroom retreat with a beachy feel in Alexandria, Va. The soft blue/grey color is soothing and relaxing. We added a grasscloth wallpaper to the tray ceiling to draw attention to the architecture and highlight the rope chandelier. Custom linen draperies add softness and warmth in this large space. A large seating area was warmed and made functional by a custom designed, custom made sectional and storage ottoman. The clients wanted a photo collage for their family photos as the main artwork for this space. Photo by Tinius Photography
