Kowalske Kitchen & Bath was hired as the bathroom remodeling contractor for this Delafield master bath and closet. This black and white boho bathrooom has industrial touches and warm wood accents. The original space was like a labyrinth, with a complicated layout of walls and doors. The homeowners wanted to improve the functionality and modernize the space. The main entry of the bathroom/closet was a single door that lead to the vanity. Around the left was the closet and around the right was the rest of the bathroom. The bathroom area consisted of two separate closets, a bathtub/shower combo, a small walk-in shower and a toilet. To fix the choppy layout, we separated the two spaces with separate doors – one to the master closet and one to the bathroom. We installed pocket doors for each doorway to keep a streamlined look and save space. BLACK & WHITE BOHO BATHROOM This master bath is a light, airy space with a boho vibe. The couple opted for a large walk-in shower featuring a Dreamline Shower enclosure. Moving the shower to the corner gave us room for a black vanity, quartz counters, two sinks, and plenty of storage and counter space. The toilet is tucked in the far corner behind a half wall. BOHO DESIGN The design is contemporary and features black and white finishes. We used a white cararra marble hexagon tile for the backsplash and the shower floor. The Hinkley light fixtures are matte black and chrome. The space is warmed up with luxury vinyl plank wood flooring and a teak shelf in the shower. After completing several home remodeling projects with Burgin Design • Remodel, the Tolsmas felt it was time for a master bathroom update. Their add-on did not include a private entry or even a shower. Our designer, Tamara Stratton made sure the new design reflected the rest of their well appointed home and provided a functional sanctuary for starting or ending their day. After a new Hall Bath and a Patio Addition (see the pics below!), it was time for the Tolsmas to have the Master Bathroom they had always dreamed of. We began with a design that would allow the space to look more open and warm, then began constructing custom flat panel cabinetry in white to match their style and provide storage. The cabinetry was topped off with an undermount sink and engineered quartz for durability and a beautiful elegant finish. New porcelain tile in a hardwood look finish, a freestanding tub, and beautiful tiled shower with a glass enclosure and chrome fixtures were the perfect way to complete this gorgeous new space. It was such an honor to be asked to return and help this family create the Master Bath of their dreams!

Our clients had just purchased this house and had big dreams to make it their own. We started by taking out almost three thousand square feet of tile and replacing it with an updated wood look tile. That, along with new paint and trim made the biggest difference in brightening up the space and bringing it into the current style. This home’s largest project was the master bathroom. We took what used to be the master bathroom and closet and combined them into one large master ensuite. Our clients’ style was clean, natural and luxurious. We created a large shower with a custom niche, frameless glass, and a full shower system. The quartz bench seat and the marble picket tiles elevated the design and combined nicely with the champagne bronze fixtures. The freestanding tub was centered under a beautiful clear window to let the light in and brighten the room. A completely custom vanity was made to fit our clients’ needs with two sinks, a makeup vanity, upper cabinets for storage, and a pull-out accessory drawer. The end result was a completely custom and beautifully functional space that became a restful retreat for our happy clients.

We got to start with the most spacious master suite, essentially the full second floor of a classic Chicago Bungalow. We gutted the bathroom, swapping the huge dated tub for more storage, upgraded the dual pedestal sinks to a custom double vanity, and gave the double shower a makeover, adding a rain head. This master bath ‘Renovision’ came with three main requests from the homeowner: more storage, a larger shower and a luxurious look that feels like being at an upscale hotel. The Renovisions team accomplished these wishes and exceeded the clients expectations. Request number 1: more storage. The existing closet was reconfigured to accommodate better storage for towels and bath supplies making it both functional and attractive. The custom built pull-out hamper was perfect. The long vanity and center tower offers much more cabinet space and drawer storage compared to what they had, especially with the increased vanity height. Request number 2: A larger shower. Working within the existing footprint we were able to build a shower that is nearly a foot deeper as space was available. Creating a large rectangular cubby provides plenty of space for shampoos and soaps. The frameless sliding glass shower enclosure keeps the space open and airy while allowing the beautiful Carrera-look porcelain wall tiles to be the focus of this master bath. Request number 3: a luxurious look. Turning their once boring, builder grade bathroom into an upscale hotel-like space was challenging, however, not a problem for the Renovisions team and their creative ways of resolving design snags along the way. Re-locating the doorway to the bathroom was one way to create a more spacious flow in and out of the space. Having the right design to start was half the battle – installing the beautiful products right the first time to ensure a proper fit and finish worthy of the upscale feel is the other half. The delicate tile detail in the shower cubby is the ‘jewelry’ in the room – the soft curves of this 2-tone wave design tile adds a dramatic feel and enlightened mood this client loves. Overall, the homeowner was happy with every solution-based approach to all requests – their once dated builders bath is now bright, open and airy with a soft grey wall color adding to the soothing feel of this master bath.

It's all in the details....The focus of any bedroom starts with the bed, this king bed is outfitted with a full motion memory foam mattress that raises both head or feet and employs in mattress massage for maximum relaxation. Covered in a gorgeous custom silver silk coverlet and shams with soft white fur throws and pillows, the bed is inviting, and stress relief is immediate.

The homeowners of this Marblehead residence wished to remodel their master bathroom, which had been redone only a few years prior. The previous renovation, however, was not a pleasant experience and they were hesitant to dive-in again. After an initial conversation, the homeowners agreed to meet with me to discuss the project. listened to their vision for the room, paid close attention to their concerns, and desire to create a tranquil environment, that would be functional and practical for their everyday lifestyle. In my first walk-through of the existing bathroom, several major issues became apparent. First, the vanity, a wooden table with two vessel sinks, did not allow access to the medicine cabinets due to its depth. Second, an oversized window installed in the shower did not provide privacy and had visible signs of rot. Third, the wallpaper by the shower was peeling and contained mold due to moisture. Finally, the hardwood flooring selected was impractical for a master bathroom. My suggestion was to incorporate timeless and classic materials that would provide longevity and create an elegant environment. I designed a standard depth custom vanity which contained plenty of storage. We chose lovely white and blue quartzite counter tops, white porcelain tile that mimic the look of Thasos marble, along with blue accents, polished chrome fixtures and coastal inspired lighting. Next, we replaced, relocated, and changed the window style and shape. We then fabricated a window frame out of the quartzite for protection which proved to give the shower a lovely focal point. Lastly, to keep with the coastal theme of the room, we installed shiplap for the walls. The homeowners now look forward to starting and ending their day in their bright and relaxing master bath. It has become a sanctuary to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

By the window, we created both storage and seating by adding a larger, double-vanity by the window. This bathroom was rejuvenated with a large slab of Persian onyx behind the tub, stunning copper tub, copper sinks, and gorgeous tiling work. Shower area is finished with teak foldable double bench and two rubber bronze rain showers, and a large mural of chipped marble on feature wall. The large floating vanity is complete with full framed mirror under hanging lights. Frosted pocket door allows plenty of light inside.
