When the family first reached out to Armada Design & Build, they were excited but apprehensive. They had just purchased a sprawling 2-acre lot in the peaceful enclave of Packwood, WA, envisioning their forever home. The lot, though rich with potential, was a blank canvas—a space once occupied by a dilapidated structure, now waiting to be transformed into a custom-built sanctuary. Turning this vacant lot into a warm, inviting home seemed daunting to them, but to us, it was an opportunity to create something truly special.
As a one-stop design and build firm, we knew this project was about more than construction—it was about understanding their dreams and translating them into a home blending contemporary charm with rustic elegance. Our journey began with in-depth discussions to explore their lifestyle, preferences, and vision. They wanted a modern, comfortable, and functional home full of character. With these insights, we began sketching a design that would rise from the blank slate.
The process started with site evaluations and architectural planning, considering the natural landscape, privacy needs, and creating a connection with the surroundings. They had many ideas but needed guidance to bring them to life. Our expertise helped them navigate every decision, from layout to details, ensuring each choice aligned with their vision.
The kitchen, the heart of the home, was designed for both style and functionality. Custom flat-panel glossy white cabinets provided ample storage with pull-out shelves for easy organization. MSI Quartz countertops became a striking focal point, while the Kraus Single Basin Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink and Hansgrohe Talis S² Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet added both style and practicality. Complementary Benjamin Moore paint harmonized the space with the stainless steel appliances. Elegant lighting fixtures, including a West Elm Mobile Chandelier and an Everly Quinn 8-Light Crystal Sputnik Sphere Chandelier, brought a sophisticated flair, perfect for daily living and entertaining.
Before breaking ground, we meticulously planned every aspect, ensuring the materials and brands would meet aesthetic desires and withstand the test of time. Top-of-the-line appliances, such as a KitchenAid gas range and fully integrated dishwasher, ensured the kitchen was both beautiful and functional. Every detail extended to the rest of the home. The laundry room combined practicality with style, featuring Architectural Surfaces tiles, Bravada Hardwood flooring, and sleek KES hardware.
In the master bathroom, we created a serene retreat with Green Needle Laminated panels, Kohler fixtures, and United Tile Fez by WOW tiles, transforming it into a luxurious sanctuary. Consistent Bravada Hardwood flooring throughout the home added cohesiveness, while thoughtful touches like NearMoon fixtures enhanced the spa-like ambiance.
The exterior was equally well-planned. Benjamin Moore paint highlighted architectural features, and custom doors and Milgard Windows welcomed natural light while connecting the indoors to the surrounding beauty. Outdoor spaces were designed as extensions of the home, featuring a hot tub, BBQ area, and EV charging station.
Throughout the process, we worked hand-in-hand with the family, ensuring every detail aligned with their vision. The result was a stunning custom home that exceeded expectations—a testament to quality, craftsmanship, and client satisfaction. What began as a blank canvas became a beautiful, warm home they can proudly call their own.

There are so many components of this space that show functionality and glamour. We kept the bright white theme throughout this custom home and extended the shiplap and white high-end materials into the bathroom. One of our favorite pieces that really captured the look included a Victoria + Albert free standing tub. Working with Krystine Edwards on the interior design, the homeowners chose oversized lanterns over the vanities, which were purchased from a local lighting store – Carolina Lanterns. And, the Moroccan style mirrors added just the extra touch of charm. Now, let’s talk about the oversized walk-in, frameless glass shower. It is simply breathtaking. We used Bianca Carerra marble, arabesque tile and penny round tiles on the floor. With three shower heads, there’s the option to set the temperature to each person’s liking. Once the valves are set you never have to change it again; you simply turn on the water! This classic white look will stand the test of time, and the glamorous selections make it one of the most beautiful master bathrooms we’ve constructed.

This beautiful and exceptionally efficient 2-bed/2-bath house proves that laneway homes do not have to be compromised, but can be beautiful, light and airy places to live.
The living room, master bedroom and south-facing deck overlook the adjacent park. There are parking spaces for three vehicles immediately opposite.
Like the main residence on the same property, the house is constructed from pre-fabricated Structural Insulated Panels. This, and other highly innovative construction technologies will put the building in a class of its own regarding performance and sustainability. The structure has been seismically-upgraded, and materials have been selected to stand the test of time. The design is strikingly modern but respectful, and the layout is very practical.
This project has been nominated and won multiple Ovation awards.

Hygge – pronounced "hoo-ga" – is coziness. A way of living that emphasizes the importance of simplicity and unwinding. It's hospitality and warmth. But at DIRTT, it also means a living lab. The home is a giant test subject for the possibilities of prefabricated construction. The home demonstrates what's possible when traditional craftsmanship and modern technology combine. Complex angles and curves become a possibility. Exquisite finishes become reality when labor costs are flipped on their head. The home has become what it was meant to be all along; a place to gather with colleagues, Clients, family and friends to break bread and get to know one another.

This kitchen addition project is an expansion of an old story and a half South Bozeman home.

This old house has been remodeled and added onto many times over. A complete demolition and rebuild of this structure would be the best course of action, but we are in a historic neighborhood and we will be working with it as is. Budget is an issue as well, so in addition to the second story addition, we are limiting our renovation efforts to the kitchen and bathroom areas at the back the house. We are making a concerted effort to not get into too much of the existing front half of this house.
This is precisely the type of remodeling work that requires a very skilled and experienced builder. And I emphasize experienced. We are lucky to be working with Luke Stahlberg of Ibex Builders. Luke is a talented local Bozeman contractor with years of experience in the remodeling industry. Luke is very methodical and well organized. This is a classic remodeling project with enough detail to really test a contractor’s skill and experience.

Walking through this property for the first time with the homeowner was interesting. We really do love historical properties and always want to see them returned to safe, comfortable, and very livable spaces. We saw a lot of opportunities in what some may have walked away from.
The transformation was met with some challenges along the way as you might expect from a 101 year old home that had not been updated. We saw them as opportunities and created solutions for each one that we met.
We started with structural engineering, and testing for asbestos and lead. Fortunately no Asbestos was present. We took everything down to studs and made sure the house was level and safe. We removed some walls, moved staircases and created a more functional layout for kitchen, hall bathroom, and added a bathroom to the master suite.
The end result is a beautiful “new” home with all the charm of its long history in a gorgeous and quaint neighborhood in Madison, WI.

A unique West Coast Modern design by Etienne de Villiers located near Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Featuring Douglas Fir glulam timberframe, this home is modern, yet comfortable and warm - signature traits of a West Coast Contemporary design.
Located on a high ridge of Denman Island, the design emulates a bridge with the master suite and living areas on one side, the guest rooms and amenities on the other and a bridge structure housing the main living area and kitchen. This glorious home captures the best elements of West Coast living with 360 views of the forest, ocean and Beaufort Mountain range across Baynes sound.
We built this home on an island with ferry access, so detailed pre-planning was imperative. Our crew pre-cut and test fitted all of the members in our shop for an easy installation on-site, which made for a very smooth construction process.

This classic open undermount sink is hand hammered from recycled copper by master artisans. Through years of skill and experience passed down from previous generations, the end result is a one-of-a-kind work of art. Made from 16 gauge copper, the TCK-002AN has a warm antique finish and allows either for drop-in or undermount installation. Copper is amazingly easy to maintain. Fingerprints do not show as they will on stainless steel and other metals. For basic cleaning, simply use soap and water. Laboratory testing has shown that, when cleaned regularly, a copper surface continuously kills disease-causing bacteria, achieving 99.9% reduction within two hours of exposure. Copper has a "living finish" and its patina will continue to develop character over time, meaning it will become a richer, darker color. The patina creates a unique look of light and dark tones complementing each other. Made with the highest standards of quality and creative design, Novatto sinks add art and function to any kitchen area.

Nestled in the heart of Almaden Valley, May Construction has masterfully reimagined a beloved family residence. This extensive exterior renovation has been thoughtfully designed to enhance the home's innate character, offering a seamless blend of up-to-the-minute style with the warmth of its heritage.
May Construction, located in San Jose, California, meticulously replaced the dated siding with luxurious stone around the expansive three-car garage, echoing the rich textures of Almaden's natural landscape. The installation of the new fence seamlessly bridges the gap between the house and garage, and extends to the quaint brick shed, crafting a cohesive and inviting outdoor space.
We are particularly proud of the newly installed Carriage house Mahogany doors, complete with elegant glass windows, which exude an aura of timeless luxury and significantly enhance the home's curb appeal. These doors are not merely entrances but gateways to the refined lifestyle within.
The transformation journey entailed stripping away the old exterior paneling to make way for a fresh stucco finish, a testament to our commitment to quality and durability. Complementing the stucco, the Tuscany Milgard windows frame views of the verdant valley, ensuring a seamless indoor-outdoor connection while providing state-of-the-art energy efficiency.
Our dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail ensures that this Almaden Valley residence is not only a testament to May Construction's expertise but also a sanctuary that will stand the test of time. This project is a beacon of design and architecture, a home that truly reflects the bespoke journey of renovation we are passionate about delivering.
