One of three bathrooms completed in this home. This bathroom serves as the guest bath, located on the first floor between the office/guest space and kitchen. Marble tiles and subtle green hues make a great impression and tie with the cool calming colors used on the first floor. Wall niches, hotel rack, and medicine cabinet help to maximize storage for guests without overcrowding the room. Wainscoting and decorative trim were paired with modern fixtures to marry traditional charm with contemporary feel.

The large custom shower is designed especially for steam showers. The transom can be closed while steaming. The steam element has controls inside the shower including an option for adding natural scented oils such as lavendar or eucalyptus. The fan controls are located right outside the shower door just in case you forget to turn it on. Either finish under the rainhead or use the multi head adjustable shower. We also opted to have this shower be curbless to visually add to the luxury appeal. Heated floors of course. This Master Ensuite reflects the light, water and earth elements found on this home's substantial lake front site in south Burlington. The design team opted for a washed oak, wood-like laminate in a flat panel with a horizontal grain, a softer palette than plain white yet still just as bright. Secondly, since they have always used the bathtub every day, the most important selection was the soaking tub and positioning it to maximize space and view to the surrounding trees. With the windows surrounding the tub, the peacefulness of the outside really envelops you in to further the spa-like environment. For the sinks and faucetry the team opted for the Sigma Collection from Klaffs. They decided on a brushed finish to not overpower the soft, matte finish of the cabinetry. For the hardware from Du Verre, they selected a dark finish to complement the black iron window frames (which is repeated throughout the house) and then continued that color in the decorative lighting fixtures. Not evident from the street, the parti for this new home is a sweeping arc of glass which forms an expansive panorama of a wooded river valley beyond in the rear. The lot is located in an established and planned neighborhood, which is adjacent to a heavily forested metropark. The house is comprised of two levels; the primary living areas are located on the main level including the master bedroom suite. Additional living and entertaining areas are located below with access to the lower level outdoor living spaces. The large floor-to-ceiling curtain of glass and open floor plan allow all main living spaces access to views and light while affording privacy where required, primarily along the sides of the property. Kitchen and eating areas include a large floating island which allows for meal preparation while entertaining, and the many large retracting glass doors allow for easy flow to the outdoor spaces. The exterior materials were chosen for durability and minimal maintenance, including ultra- compact porcelain, stone, synthetic stucco, cement siding, stained fir roof underhangs and exterior ceilings. Lighting is downplayed with special fixtures where important areas are highlighted. The fireplace wall has a hidden door to the master suite veneered in concrete panels. The kitchen is sleek with hidden appliances behind full-height (responsibly harvested) rosewood veneer panels. Interiors include a soft muted palette with minimalist fixtures and details. Careful attention was given to the variable ceiling heights throughout, for example in the foyer and dining room. The foyer area is raised and expressed as the large porcelain clad element of the entrance, and becomes a defining part of the composition of the façade from the street.

This home began as a 1244 sf. single level home with 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. We added 384 sf. of interior living space and 150 sf. of exterior space. A master bathroom, walk in closet, mudroom, living room and covered deck were added. We also moved the location of the kitchen to improve the view and layout. The completed home is 1628 sf. and 1 level.

Designed by Daniel Altmann of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Bethesda, MD this master bathroom remodel features a transitional design style inspiration with vanity cabinets from Merillat Masterpiece in the Hadley door style in Maple with a Dove White finish. This spacious master bathroom features coffee colored cabinets and Zodiaq Quartz countertops. The walls are a soft gray-blue and the floor is a ceramic tile in 6" x 24" plank. There is a separate toilet room and the walk-in shower is surrounded by a fogged glass. Next to the shower is a grand soaker tub for the ideal amount of relaxation.

A master bathroom we dressed in cool, coastal blues and sea greens. We gave this bathroom a colorful but minimalist style, creating a refreshing, clean, and spa-like feel. The crisp white freestanding tub is placed near the tiled accent wall (a full-wall adorned in micro blue and green tiles). A floating glass shelf offers the perfect amount of space to place bath products while staying transparent and uncluttered. Behind the tub are two separate spaces, one of the large walk-in shower and the other for the toilet. The vanity boasts beautiful cabinets, silver hardware, and a lustrous shell-like backsplash. This 4-drawer alder base cabinet (which matches the home’s kitchen cabinetry) provides generous storage. Its laminate banjo counter extends over the toilet, providing extra counter space. The toilet location was kept where it was in the original hall bath -- only turning it 90 degrees – this saved plumbing costs. A grab bar on the left improves safety.
