The existing tub and shower in this master bathroom were removed to create more space for a curbless, walk in shower. 4" x 8" brick style tile on the shower walls, and pebble tile on the shower floor bring in the warm earth tones the clients desired. To achieve this transformation, major plumbing fixtures were relocated as needed. New plumbing wall ensures that the hot and cold water lines for the new vanities and soaking tub will not freeze and the custom mirror niches add architectural distinction to the space. Almost 200 miters were meticulously executed on the limestone tiles at all outside corners of niches and door openings, as well as the curved tub platform for a seamless appearance.

The goal of Pineapple House designers was to stay within existing footprint while improving the look, storage capabilities and functionality of the master bath. Along the right wall, they replace the existing tub with a freestanding Roman soaking tub. Glass shower walls lets natural light illuminate the formerly dark, enclosed corner shower. Along the left wall, a new double-sink vanity has hidden storage in tall, slender doors that are configured to mimic columns. The central section of the long vanity has a make-up drawer and more storage behind the mirror. Along the back wall, a custom unit houses a television that intentionally blends into the deep coloration of the millwork. An under counter refrigerator is located in the lower left portion of unit. This light-filled, modern master suite above a 1948 Colonial in Arlington, VA was a Contractor of the Year Award Winner, Residential Addition $100-$250K. The bedroom and bath are separated by translucent, retractable doors. A floating, wall-mounted vanity and toilet with a curb-less shower create a contemporary atmosphere.

The Bravo was the winner of the Best Master Suite award in the 2015 Parade of Homes. With marble on the floors, counter tops, and throughout the shower, this master bath has a serious wow factor.
