Building a home for this dynamic family was a true joy! Cook Construction was brought on to fix the mistakes of two previous GC’s and get them out of the extremely frustrating situation they found themselves in. Although a delicate and daunting task to take on the homeowner alone made the entire process worth it.
This full scale, four-story, re-build home boasts it all; bold, contemporary, interior design from San Francisco’s finest, radiant heat throughout, high lacquer paint finishes, custom iron railings spanning all floors of the open staircase and a finished attic with 360 views to create the ultimate getaway/workspace.

The exterior of this villa style family house pops against its sprawling natural backdrop. The home’s elegant simplicity shown outwards is pleasing to the eye, as its welcoming entry summons you to the vast space inside. Richly textured white walls, offset by custom iron rails, bannisters, and chandelier/sconce ‘candle’ lighting provide a magical feel to the interior. The grand stairway commands attention; with a bridge dividing the upper-level, providing the master suite its own wing of private retreat. Filling this vertical space, a simple fireplace is elevated by floor-to-ceiling white brick and adorned with an enormous mirror that repeats the home’s charming features. The elegant high contrast styling is carried throughout, with bursts of colour brought inside by window placements that capture the property’s natural surroundings to create dynamic seasonal art. Indoor-outdoor flow is emphasized in several points of access to covered patios from the unobstructed greatroom, making this home ideal for entertaining and family enjoyment.

Our client moved to Miami from New York and didn’t want to lose the New York design sensibility. We wanted to create a space that was airy with lots of light and took full advantage of the 14-foot ceilings. We replaced the home’s dark wood panel flooring with lighter wood panels, which makes spaces appear larger. We played around with mismatching cabinet colors and countertop materials, creating a dynamic kitchen while maintaining the calm color palette. Stunning light fixtures in the dining room and kitchen were selected to add even more interest and light to the space. Finally, bold and whimsical wallpaper in the master bedroom reflects the client’s personality and adds a custom element you won’t see in any other home.

This master bathroom already had a great floor plan, but needed some updating. The faux wood tiled floor strikingly defines the space, while the dark wood vanities and white freestanding tub create a dynamic contrast. The shape of the tub, the freestanding tub filler and matching sink faucets, offer lovely curves among the strong lines. Designed by the homeowners themselves, they successfully updated this master into a very livable and comfortable space.

Both designer, Christopher Garone, and contractor, Abel Garcia of Abel Garcia Construction LLC, provided exceptional service and attention to three bathroom remodels, and finished the project in a manner of 7 weeks. A white and grey themed master bathroom brings a simple yet elegant dynamic to a contemporary styled bathroom. White timeless subway tiles and multi-colored mosaic glass tiles in the curbless shower brighten the look of the contemporary master bath.

The bedroom is separated by a wall of metal beads that work like a hanging textile but add sparkle and shine giving a dynamic quality to the space.
