This home is dedicated to the idea that beauty can be found in the artistic expression of hand-made processes. The project included rigorous material research and close partnership with local craftspeople in order to realize the final architecture. The timeless quality of this collaboration is most visible in the ribbon stair and the raked stucco walls on the exterior facade. Working hand in hand with local artisans, layers of wood and plaster were stapled, raked, sanded, bent, and laminated in order to realize the curve of the stair and the precise lines of the facade.
In contrast to the manipulation of materials, a garden courtyard and spa add an intimate experience of nature within the heart of the home. The concealed space is a case study in contrast from the lush vegetation against the stark steel, to the shallow hot plunge and six-foot deep cold plunge. The result is a home that elevates the integrity of local craft and the refreshment of nature’s touch to augment a lifestyle dedicated to health, artistry, and authenticity.

The Watonga residence was commissioned by a woman with a big heart for animal fostering. She wanted a house that felt private from the street but visually and physically connected to the backyard. The house needed to consider the typology and scale of the existing neighborhood, and it needed durable materials to accommodate little paws. Finally, it had to support an environmentally conscientious life. The house was intentionally placed on the short end of an irregularly shaped lot, allowing the living spaces to open up to a large native landscape and adjacent lot containing a significant tree grove. This siting allowed for a passive orientation where window walls face north and exposure to the south and west is minimal.
The interior is light-filled, capturing expansive landscape views of an established oak grove to the North and bayou views to the East. A carefully choreographed entry vestibule and screen shield create interior privacy from the street. A two-story volume fills the center of the home with warm, southern light. A palette of tile, Texas stone, and concrete are used for budget friendly durability. The house is derived from a simple diagram with utilitarian functions placed in the stone box and living in a minimal gabled roof that supports solar panel orientation and rainwater collection.
At its core, this home is designed for family, foster dogs, well-curated music, and Aggie game days.

For this Houston backyard, we focused on creating a functional and visually stunning space that enhances outdoor living while minimizing maintenance. The design features a synthetic turf installation, providing a lush, green lawn year-round that's perfect for relaxing or entertaining without the hassle of upkeep.
We added urn planters filled with Butterfly Iris, offering elegant, vertical greenery, alongside vibrant Dallas Red Lantana and striking Purple Heart, which bring dynamic color and texture to the space.
To maximize usability, we extended a paver patio that gently steps down to follow the natural slope of the yard, ensuring a smooth transition and a cohesive look. Landscape lighting was thoughtfully installed to illuminate the space, highlighting key features and creating an inviting atmosphere for evening gatherings.
The result is a low-maintenance, high-impact yard that combines functionality, beauty, and year-round enjoyment.

In the heart of Concord, Massachusetts, a vision for a brighter, more expansive kitchen and dining area has been realized thanks to the collaborative expertise of Sunspace Design and fellow local professionals. Our home-owning clients sought to infuse their living space with natural light. Sunspace Design—renowned for crafting exquisite custom skylights and glass structures—delivered a stunning solution. This project showcases our ability to seamlessly integrate bespoke glass construction into any project.
The centerpiece of this transformation is a meticulously crafted 10’ x 17’ double-hip skylight framed in rich mahogany and clad in elegant cold rolled copper. The skylight’s design was engineered in-house and pre-assembled in our workshop to ensure a perfect fit while minimizing installation time. Utilizing high-performance Solarban 70 argon gas-filled insulated glass, the Sunspace team achieved exceptional thermal performance and optimal light transmission to provide a comfortable and luminous environment. We further enhanced the home’s existing Velux skylights with custom copper cladding to ensure a cohesive aesthetic. The copper exterior adds a touch of timeless elegance while the insulated glass secures year-round comfort.
As always, we believe in the value of collaboration. This project demonstrates that value. By working closely with Richard Gerace, a skilled general contractor, and Céline Riard of CHIC Redesign, we were able to create a stunning living space for our clients. The detailed craftsmanship—from the mortise and tenon joinery to the precise installation of the glazing system—reflects our commitment to quality and the attention to detail our reputation is built upon.
We understand that a skylight is more than just a source of light. Each unit is an opportunity to create a transformative, space-redefining portal to the skies above. Whether you’re a homeowner looking for a sun-drenched interior or a professional aiming to integrate innovative glass solutions into your projects, we’re here to help.

Our client had not done anything with their landscaping for many years. Tin
the front of their house they had a few tired berberris (barberry) shrubs in
the front, creeping blue junipers, some large evergreens, and lots of empty
spaces. They liked reds, greens, yellows, and blues (the junipers). We
removed the berberris and other shrubs that had to go, but kept the larger
evergreens and blue junipers. We installed plants approved by our client:
Nandina domestica, red twig dogwoods (a Native plant), and Acorus Oborozuki.
All plants are evergreen which they wanted. In the process, we re-shaped
the beds a little and seeded an area that we returned to lawn.
In the back of the house, the client had a beautiful deck with a lovely
view. However, the area around the deck was totally bare. They wanted
colorful perennials that were low maintenance. Since they do not spend time
on the deck in the winter, we concentrated on plants in their color palette
that flower in late spring, summer, and early fall. The plants will grow
together to minimize weeds and maintenance.
The shade perennials we planted are: Tricyrtis Samurai (Toad Lily), Ghost Fern, Male Fern (Native), Japanese Holly Fern, Autumn Fern, Astilbe Peach Blossom
Dicentra, Ivory Hearts, Geranium Rozanne, Anemone Honorine Jobert

This 2,500 sq. ft. commercial facility was meticulously designed to accommodate up to seven writers’ rooms and production suites—each capable of operating simultaneously without interruption, with four of the rooms built for mixing capabilities. With seamless audio integration throughout, the space ensures intuitive connectivity no matter where you are on the property.
The aesthetic palette, paired with a loud and quirky speakeasy vibe, creates a fun atmosphere that reflects the owners’ personalities. The result is not just a studio that feels effortless—it’s an inspiring environment where writing, mixing, and production can happen with minimal sound transmission.
Behind the walls, the architectural acoustics are second to none. The design emphasizes a true “plug-and-play” workflow: each control room, both isolation booths, and all common areas are acoustically isolated with extraordinary attention to detail. Each suite is equipped with dedicated, silent 1:1 HVAC systems. Eight independent floating-floor systems support the suites, while tailored sound-reducing wall assemblies and intentional treatments in the main suites deliver clarity and precision for mixing. Full-lite doors, combined with the fact that no suite is mechanically bonded, allow all rooms to operate simultaneously with minimal sound transfer.

In the residential periphery of Lisbon, two physicians are establishing a home to grow their family. The original interior was conscientiously updated to serve as a pristine haven for the pair of professionals with busy schedules. Neutral walls, left bare to the interplay between light and shadow, are humanized by a verdant leitmotif inspired by their love of outdoor travel. Custom furniture from local craftsmen features simple volumes in wood and white tones that evoke a sense of both the natural and the minimal. Robust yet luxurious, child- and pet-friendly materials dress the interior.
The kitchen and dining room were united into one open entertaining space at the heart of the home. Composite countertops chosen to match the existing stone window sills allot ample workspace and serve as a buffet for the adjacent dining room. There, a custom-crafted table and floating shelf provide a neutral canvas for soirées, while mid-century chairs and a dry floral arrangement by a local ikebana artist add a spray of color. The kitchen entrance was transformed into a virescent, multi-purpose pantry corridor, complete with integrated refrigerator and freezer.
A corner niche in the foyer features the ceramic sculpture Gato Assanhado (Hissing Cat) by Bordallo Pinheiro, and a bespoke mirror reflects upon double doors to a living room configured for both work and relaxation; a tailored desk and drawer unit support the former, an ample couch and welcoming armchairs the latter. A vintage wooden sideboard and finishing touches from Portuguese flea markets imbue the space with local soul.

All of our clients are unique and so is this new custom home designed to meet our client’s particular needs. The layout takes full advantage of their spectacular property with 270 degree views of the Ottawa River. The building footprint is a small area of the overall site, and we had to be creative to ensure the home design optimizes the available area. Our clients are true outdoor enthusiasts who want their home to respect and reflect the environment around it. Many features, such as floor-to-ceiling windows and a spacious screened porch with outdoor kitchen, welcome the outdoors into their living spaces. A solar array along the south facing roofs and other LEED features will help minimize the overall environmental footprint.
The redwood siding and architectural features compliment the surrounding forest. The silver galvanized siding reflects the sparkling eddies in the nearby rapids, and the darker siding symbolizes the earth and heavily-wooded area around the site.
The main floor layout is open concept with a great room, kitchen, and dining area as the heart of the home. A stone fireplace anchors the great room, though it will be the wall of windows revealing a stunning view that will dominate the space. A sizable walk-in closet and powder room are conveniently located off the entrance foyer.
Upstairs, the primary bedroom has a well-appointed ensuite bath and large walk-in closet. A nursery and a spacious office with wonderful view are also located on the upper level. The change in grade means that the lower level has full-size windows and direct access to the outdoors. It expands the living space with a rec room, two bedrooms, full bath, laundry room, and mechanical room.
The tandem garage is oversized to provide ample space for all their outdoor equipment, along with vehicles and space for a small workbench.

The Tiny Farmhouse Kitchen is by far one of the most complex, rewarding, and unforgettable projects we’ve ever completed. Designed to be fully mobile and 100% solar-powered, this one-of-a-kind kitchen on wheels pushed our creativity, craftsmanship, and problem-solving skills to new heights. Every time we transported it through town, it turned heads—people would literally stop in their tracks just to get a closer look.
Building a fully functional commercial kitchen in such a small footprint required precision in every detail. We carefully selected each piece of equipment to minimize electrical draw, including a commercial refrigerator and four recessed induction food warmers—all powered entirely by solar energy. Onboard water storage, filtration, and gray water management were meticulously engineered to maximize both functionality and space.
The Tiny Farmhouse Kitchen features:
• Custom handcrafted cabinetry
• Granite countertops
• Vaulted ceilings with dimmable LED lighting
• A full POS system with a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot
• A gas-shock lift service window with a live-edge oak flip-down counter, finished with crystal-clear epoxy for a stunning, natural look
Every inch of this mobile kitchen was designed for both beauty and efficiency, blending farmhouse charm with modern utility. It’s a project we are immensely proud of—and one that perfectly captures the spirit of what we do at Artisan Kitchen & Bath: bringing bold ideas to life with craftsmanship, innovation, and heart.

Combining minimalism with elegance, this multi-tiered hardscape design transformed the outdoor living space of a Long Island, NY home. On the heart of Long Island, designers blended style with functionality, utilizing the whole of the property for hosting guests, preparing and serving summer meals and lounging by the pool on the sun-filled patio. With the use of softly toned Techo Bloc concrete pavers, Above All Masonry Design incorporated flow and structure while balancing with the existing natural setting. Family and guests travel down the paver walkway, through the expansive outdoor kitchen and dining space and out to the poolside deck or fire pit lounge area. Balanced with vibrant landscaping and lighting design, this Long Island home can now host large groups of family and friends with ease.
