Trim+Edge is a custom mid-century modern residential landscape remodel in East Austin, Texas (78702). Designed by Hush House, the project transforms a sloped residential lot into three functional outdoor zones using a slatted steel retaining wall, a pea gravel courtyard, and a shaded patio lounge. 2. Design Challenge & Architectural Solution The Challenge: Leveling a sloped backyard lot to create usable, multi-functional outdoor living spaces for family gathering and entertaining. The Solution: Installing a low-profile, slatted steel retaining structure to level the upper lawn while creating a seamless step-down transition into a pea gravel courtyard and shaded patio lounge directly adjacent to the main home. 3. Key Architectural Features & Materials Slatted Steel Retaining Wall: A custom steel retaining structure that encases, levels, and elevates the upper lawn area. Pea Gravel Courtyard: A low-maintenance gravel patio designed for flexible seating, dining, and casual outdoor entertaining. Shaded Patio Lounge: An oversized covered seating area situated right next to the house for all-day shade and comfort. Three-Zone Functional Layout: A layered landscape plan designed to activate distinct areas for concurrent family activities and large social gatherings.

The 2016 Serenbe Designer Showhouse is The Penthouse at The Textile Lofts in Serenbe. Our antique oak, St. Jerome, can be found throughout the penthouse. The floor was actually named by Ryan Duffey, the architect of the Showhouse. The lofts blend a combination of retail and restaurant components with a mix of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom luxury apartments and condominiums. As seen from the street, the architectural design of the Textile Lofts draws inspiration from a turn of the century textile mill – structures that were constructed for form and function. Built exquisitely with hand laid brick, and expansive windows, the building carries a strong presence and classic style that harkens back to the days when things were built to last and style was delivered in the details. New Media Art All works reflect the work of the artist, Carol Ashton, with each piece anchored in acrylic on canvas then further investigated with digital media. Carol draws on her experience as Digital Literacy Specialist with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to continue her exploration with digital technologies as a relevant and robust means of expressing beauty in the digital age. Significant in her work is the desire to validate the union of art and function, recognizing the role of beauty in the internal conversations we have with our home and work environment.

Custom built-ins for a family lounge in the West Wesley area of Atlanta. In collaboration with Nancy Felton of NF Design, A+V Design Group ATL developed the final details and proportions, fabricated the cabinetry and slim shelves, and completed precise on-site fitting with integrated display lighting.
