Entering the back yard is like entering an English garden. To ensure a seamless look between the original new parts of the house, we built the covered patio using the same German schist stone and timber framed stucco. Further, the stone’s pointing matches the original historic stone, and we used a gray grout for a weathered, aged look. The space is finished off with spiraled lattice iron works and all slate roof. At the end of the roof is an open truss timber frame in a cathedral design. Copper flashing at the joints protects the wood from water sitting in the spaces and eventually rotting the joints. The patio itself features a flagstone floor, built in gas grill, and the other side of the Rumford fireplace found in the family room. This beautiful bathroom has light gray marble floors. The large shower has white Carrera marble subway tiled walls, gray marble basketweave tile floor, and a luxurious oil rubbed bronze rainfall shower head. The two vanities are made of solid cherry wood and are topped with a blue-gray quartzite. French gold and oil rubbed bronze fixtures add a warm and polished detail. The bathroom’s window seat is special spot, providing extra storage and lots of light. With a baby on the way and old cabinets falling apart at the seams, a kitchen remodel was the number one priority for our clients in their charming, historic Denver home. It was essential to make the kitchen feel more spacious and open, while still maintaining it’s original footprint and privacy from the rest of the house. Cabinets on three out of four walls caved into the center of the kitchen, making it feel small and difficult for even two people to be moving about! By eliminating cabinetry on the west wall, we were able to not only make the kitchen feel bigger and brighter, but we also revealed the characteristic exposed brick that was hiding behind a string of cabinets! The brick wall adds so much character and, paired with the wainscoting, is a beautiful nod to the home’s historic charm. As passionate cooks and hosts, it was crucial for our clients to have an island to utilize the counter space for prepping food and having a place for friends or family to sit and chat while they cooked a meal. Small but mighty, the island is the center of attention with a beautiful black walnut butcher block countertop, cabinets for storage, and seating for three! Our favorite feature in this kitchen sits just above the gas range; the custom wood surround on the range hood was handcrafted onsite as the final finishing touch. The elements of the natural wood, soft French grey cabinets, satin brass hardware and intricate marble herringbone backsplash all come together on this one wall, giving you a moment of cohesive glee. We are thrilled with the transformation, and our clients are elated to have a beautiful new kitchen for their new, growing family.

The kitchen is where you spend most of your time, shouldn’t it be the most inviting room in the house? That was the logic behind this South Shore of Boston Renovision. The owners entertained frequently but struggled with lack of organized storage space and poor flow for traffic in and out of their kitchen. Renovisions totally reorganized the way the kitchen worked. The wall between the family room and kitchen was re-built to accommodate bar stools and added countertop space. Considerations were given to the design layout for a separate beverage/wine refrigeration station, while making sure additional prep space was adequate. A better flow in the kitchen was created, eliminating the annoyance of the typical ‘bottle-neck’. Fine shaker cabinetry in a white painted finish with contrasting dark blue-grey island cabinets which boast large, deep drawers set the stage. A full gamut of appliances was provided including a 36” induction cooktop, convection microwave, double wall ovens, full size refrigerator and a bar refrigerator. The matching paneled dishwasher ensured an integrated look. The custom wood hood along with the unique shaped arabesque glass tile design frames a stunning focal point when entering this kitchen. Glass mullion doors flanking the hood with clear seeded glass created an upscale look and coordinated with the seeded glass shades of the island pendants. Renovisions custom fit red oak wood flooring to match the existing floor and then re-finished with a grey stain and 3 coats of poly to add durability while also providing a beautiful new look throughout the house. Good lighting is key especially when spending so much time in a space. LED under-cabinet lights, recessed ceiling lights and three separate pendant fixtures which all operate on dimmer switches created options for mood lighting, work lighting and everything in between. New double-hung windows with 6/1 grid configurations were added in just the right places – adding more essential natural light. In addition to the kitchen ‘Renovision’, two corner cabinets in a white painted finish were installed in the dining room to not only accommodate the clients fine china and glassware, but also to provide a more custom built-in look to the space with the interior of the cabinets matching the wall. Overall, our client could not have been happier with the completed project. Family, friends and guests were impressed with the design and fit and finish of every detail provided by Renovisions.

We renovated the exterior and installed the hardscaping of the traditional colonial home in Villanova, PA. The flagstone patio has a beautiful hand-crafted pergola made from reclaimed long leaf pine. The outdoor fireplace was constructed out of mica and granite and has two storage areas for wood. The stone retaining wall includes interior lighting. Our clients wanted to increase the size of their kitchen, which was small, in comparison to the overall size of the home. They wanted a more open livable space for the family to be able to hang out downstairs. They wanted to remove the walls downstairs in the front formal living and den making them a new large den/entering room. They also wanted to remove the powder and laundry room from the center of the kitchen, giving them more functional space in the kitchen that was completely opened up to their den. The addition was planned to be one story with a bedroom/game room (flex space), laundry room, bathroom (to serve as the on-suite to the bedroom and pool bath), and storage closet. They also wanted a larger sliding door leading out to the pool. We demoed the entire kitchen, including the laundry room and powder bath that were in the center! The wall between the den and formal living was removed, completely opening up that space to the entry of the house. A small space was separated out from the main den area, creating a flex space for them to become a home office, sitting area, or reading nook. A beautiful fireplace was added, surrounded with slate ledger, flanked with built-in bookcases creating a focal point to the den. Behind this main open living area, is the addition. When the addition is not being utilized as a guest room, it serves as a game room for their two young boys. There is a large closet in there great for toys or additional storage. A full bath was added, which is connected to the bedroom, but also opens to the hallway so that it can be used for the pool bath. The new laundry room is a dream come true! Not only does it have room for cabinets, but it also has space for a much-needed extra refrigerator. There is also a closet inside the laundry room for additional storage. This first-floor addition has greatly enhanced the functionality of this family’s daily lives. Previously, there was essentially only one small space for them to hang out downstairs, making it impossible for more than one conversation to be had. Now, the kids can be playing air hockey, video games, or roughhousing in the game room, while the adults can be enjoying TV in the den or cooking in the kitchen, without interruption! In the casual dining area, we added floor-to-ceiling cabinetry that expanded pantry storage and created a hidden “locker” for the kids’ homework, backpacks, and everyday essentials. In the family room, the outdated media niche was replaced with custom built-ins, adding architectural detail and much-needed storage, and the fireplace received a complete facelift to bring the whole room up to date. The result is a cohesive, modernized first floor designed for real family living—open, functional, and beautifully renewed.

This sun-filled farmhouse kitchen is the focal point of this home’s new addition. The kitchen is white with wood elements, giving it a contemporary feel. From the recessed outlets in the island, to the columns adorning the island, to the hood with walnut trim, to the paneled refrigerator that matches the cabinetry, every detail was customized for the homeowners. The kitchen is anchored by a large island with seating for seven and tons of storage. The island is bookended by additional components topped by walnut butcher block counters. One end serves as a table and the other end is an extra area for food prep and storage. There is also a cutting board integrated into the sink. The white quartz on the island and main kitchen counters and white subway tile backsplash give the kitchen a modern, sleek look. The walnut trim around the hood is a special touch that ties directly into the walnut butcher block counters. After tearing down this home's existing addition, we set out to create a new addition with a modern farmhouse feel that still blended seamlessly with the original house. The addition includes a kitchen great room, laundry room and sitting room. Outside, we perfectly aligned the cupola on top of the roof, with the upper story windows and those with the lower windows, giving the addition a clean and crisp look. Using granite from Chester County, mica schist stone and hardy plank siding on the exterior walls helped the addition to blend in seamlessly with the original house. Inside, we customized each new space by paying close attention to the little details. Reclaimed wood for the mantle and shelving, sleek and subtle lighting under the reclaimed shelves, unique wall and floor tile, recessed outlets in the island, walnut trim on the hood, paneled appliances, and repeating materials in a symmetrical way work together to give the interior a sophisticated yet comfortable feel. Our clients approached us to renovate their home, as it was lacking function for their family’s changing needs. They were facing issues with insufficient storage, and underutilised areas. The entry was cramped, which was especially noticeable when several people were coming in, or when carrying in groceries. The Shared Bathroom was too small, and lacked enough room for their teenage children to store their individual belongings. Additionally, since both clients work from home, a dedicated office space was essential. On the Main Floor, we relocated the closet at the entry, making the entrance more spacious, and the Powder Room was given an update and new fixtures. The wall between the Kitchen and Dining Room was removed, which opened up the Main Floor. Half of the space this created was used to create a much larger Kitchen with ample gathering space for our client’s large family. The new custom Kitchen boasts plenty of dark cabinetry with wood accents, and is complimented by a beautiful quartz countertop and matching black fixtures. The other half of the newly created space was transformed into a quiet, functional home office. In the new office, a wall of built-in cabinetry offers useful storage for both work and hobby items, creating the perfect space for both work and crafting. On the Second Floor, we expanded the Shared Bathroom by using space from the Guest Bedroom closet and the Second Floor Office. We replaced the bathtub shower combo with a spacious grand shower and added a large vanity and makeup area, giving each teenager their own dedicated personal storage space. In the Master Ensuite, we altered the entryway location, allowing for a redesigned layout that includes a large vanity and double sink, enhancing both functionality and storage. Our clients came to us eager to remodel their outdated kitchen. Worn cabinetry, an oddly angled island and aging appliances were begging for help. It was time. The kitchen in this home is open to the family room. Naturally, all family and friends gravitate to this hub for nourishment and comradery. The clients were generally happy with the layout, but wanted to add a focal point, elegant details, and better organization. The footprint, windows and doors were to remain the same. The microwave over the cooktop was replaced with a custom, wood hood tying in the traditional style of the home. The island was redesigned in a rectangular shape with large, classic corbels and posts, making it more functional as a workspace and much prettier overall. The new cabinetry interiors are chock full of accessories such as a double trash pull out, drawers under the cook top for pots and pans, roll outs behind doors for pantry items and other kitchen essentials, dividers for cutlery and utensils, spice pull out and tray dividers. Quartz counter tops were selected for their brightness and durability. A subtle border in the backsplash behind the cooktop proves that even the smallest details make a difference.
