This is a sensory room built for a child that we recently worked with. This room allowed for them to have a safe and fun place to spend their time. Not only safe and fun, but beautiful! With a hideaway bunk, place to eat, place to watch TV, gaming stations, a bathroom, and anything you'd possibly need to have a blissful day.

Reminiscent of a villa in south of France, this Old World yet still sophisticated home are what the client had dreamed of. The home was newly built to the client’s specifications. The wood tone kitchen cabinets are made of butternut wood, instantly warming the atmosphere. The perimeter and island cabinets are painted and captivating against the limestone counter tops. A custom steel hammered hood and Apex wood flooring (Downers Grove, IL) bring this room to an artful balance. Retractable patio doors lead to an amazing transitional/rustic covered porch. Wood stained ceiling and a chandelier fit for the finest dining room anywhere add a totally polished element to this space. Stone pavers & stone wood burning fireplace make this a very impressive outdoor living space.

Kitchen remodel designed by Phil Rudick, Architect of Urban Kitchens + Baths in Austin, Tx. Photo features a view of multi use tower cabinets at end of kitchen. The solid door cabinets house pantry items and glass doors show off illuminated display items. Above cabinet lighting makes the paint color glow.

Challenge: Create a functional and feminine home office that doubles as a guest room. Solution: Pull apple green and salmon tones and feminine, slightly Asian-inspired style from the client's heron painting, creating a warm, welcoming and well-appointed space for work and relaxation. Custom roman shades and warm lighting soften and illuminate, and the warm tones of the wood desk, file cabinet and credenza balance the space. Voila!

This project was completed for clients who wanted a comfortable, accessible 1ST floor bathroom for their grown daughter to use during visits to their home as well as a nicely-appointed space for any guest. Their daughter has some accessibility challenges so the bathroom was also designed with that in mind. The original space worked fairly well in some ways, but we were able to tweak a few features to make the space even easier to maneuver through. We started by making the entry to the shower flush so that there is no curb to step over. In addition, although there was an existing oversized seat in the shower, it was way too deep and not comfortable to sit on and just wasted space. We made the shower a little smaller and then provided a fold down teak seat that is slip resistant, warm and comfortable to sit on and can flip down only when needed. Thus we were able to create some additional storage by way of open shelving to the left of the shower area. The open shelving matches the wood vanity and allows a spot for the homeowners to display heirlooms as well as practical storage for things like towels and other bath necessities. We carefully measured all the existing heights and locations of countertops, toilet seat, and grab bars to make sure that we did not undo the things that were already working well. We added some additional hidden grab bars or “grabcessories” at the toilet paper holder and shower shelf for an extra layer of assurance. Large format, slip-resistant floor tile was added eliminating as many grout lines as possible making the surface less prone to tripping. We used a wood look tile as an accent on the walls, and open storage in the vanity allowing for easy access for clean towels. Bronze fixtures and frameless glass shower doors add an elegant yet homey feel that was important for the homeowner. A pivot mirror allows adjustability for different users.
