A family of passionate athletes and sports aficionados embarked on a remarkable endeavor alongside our team and Studio M Merge. Their vision? To breathe new life into their outdated mid-century modern home and neglected pool, resulting in the dramatic “Sports Enthusiasts’ Hideaway.” The transformative journey focused on opening the interior spaces out toward the beautiful gardens and amenities. The renewed house features expanded open-plan living areas, a new bedroom, and a reimagined primary bath. An attached ADU added a sports bar and a flexible office space that can double as a private guest bedroom. The outdoor spaces were brought to life with the addition of expansive decks, inviting patios, a horseshoe pit, a basketball half-court, refreshing plunge pools, and a lush sports lawn. A pool house artfully frames the view from the pool to the neighboring golf course. This family of five finds themselves immersed in their expanded home and experiential outdoor hideaway. Every element has been thoughtfully designed to cater to their favorite activities, providing a peaceful haven where they can fully indulge their shared passion for sports.

After decades of neglect left its yard overgrown with weeds and wild flora, we have painstakingly restored the landscapes back to a simple and beautiful state where old growth is enhanced by new additions.

Protected by mature pine and willow trees sits Bow Bog Road - a formerly neglected house that was demolished to make way for a one-of-a-kind dwelling that now looks perfectly at home among the surrounding greenery—almost as though it has always been there.
The project presented the challenge of maintaining the existing foundation while creating a new residential haven that keeps the inhabitants close to nature while offering the facilities of a conventional city home.
The new modern post and beam home features an addition adding more livable square footage to the 1 story house. The tongue and groove ceilings with exposed timber beams bring warmth into the house which is further illuminated by the abundance of natural sunlight coming through the windows.
The homeowner can enjoy the stunning seasonal foliage within a home designed to become one with the existing landscape.
Made for relaxation and comfort, the custom-built home features a master suite; guest suite; and two additional bedrooms.
A sunroom invites the indoors inside and leads to the great room with stunning large windows that provide views of the ever-changing New England landscape.
The specially designed kitchen is a welcomed contrast with its darker wood color.
This amazing home is fully off-grid with a geothermal system; solar; septic system; and a 1,000 ft well.
"Robert was excellent to work with and very receptive to our desires with our new home build, working with us across several significant revisions on a beautiful custom home. Truly a pleasure to work with." - Jeff Craig, Homeowner

Formerly the site of a medical laboratory, Rosenberg Kolb redesigned this townhouse to accommodate a single family residence and home office.
The original building had been very badly neglected for many years. The structure dates to the late 19th Century. Rosenberg Kolb restored and opened up the space considerably. The upper three floors were combined into a single residence, while the ground floor and basement were converted into office space.
Working with a strict budget, Rosenberg Kolb employed a mixed of high-end and more economical finishes to keep costs down while still maintaining a high standard for design and beauty.

This beautiful secluded house and art studio, hand built by a Japanese Potter, has been given a new life as a writing studio for its owner. The building, having been neglected and uninhabited for some time, was in danger of being demolished. The owner’s recognition of the underlying spirit of the place, in what can only be described as a labor of love, worked with the designers and the artisans to bring this building back to life. The stone cylinder at the center of the building houses bathrooms and mechanical systems, allowing the remainder of the building to remain open. The new cedar posts, stair, custom cabinets and handcrafted sliding doors are among the details that were chosen to complement the restoration of the underlying building, ensuring a long life for this peaceful retreat.

From neglected hoarder house to showplace! This post-war traditional ranch was remodeled into a sophisticated contemporary home by Tim Braseth of ArtCraft Homes, completed in 2013. Located in the Crenshaw Manor neighborhood of central Los Angeles with direct access to neighboring Culver City and downtown L.A. via the new Expo line. Space reconfiguration resulted in 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Richard Morris Hunt, the Dean of American Architecture, designed Le Chalet on Bellevue Avenue in Newport in 1870. Hunt chose the Stick Style for the 9,700 square-foot summer cottage after garnering significant attention for his Stick Style design of the Griswold House, now the NewportArt Museum. Hunt’s original plans for Le Chalet called for an ornate Stick Style edifice, extensive porches, cast iron roof cresting, and a large two-story carriage house. However, these plans, especially the interiors, were believed to be scaled back at the time of construction. Le Chalet had a succession of owners, each of whom made minor alterations to the home. When the clients purchased the property the house had lost significant detail on its east elevation, was in a neglected state and warranted a full renovation.

The biggest change to the first floor is the new kitchen. The existing kitchen, pantry, and dining room were three cramped rooms. We combined these three rooms to create one large beautiful kitchen and a mudroom that is central to the family’s everyday life.
In order to be able to remove the bearing wall between the dining room and kitchen, we installed a steel beam with columns, all of which are hidden behind walls and in the ceiling.

Brooklyn brownstone duplex makeover
What are the primary needs for a busy young couple starting a brand new family? Simple. Storage! Plenty of storage, where all the accoutrements of a new lifestyle can neatly and easily be stored away, allowing unexpected guest visits to become enjoyable experiences.
Our design renovation makes this into an impressive brownstone with amazing spaces and beautiful, ultra high ceilings. Areas most often neglected and wasted are utilized here for efficient seasonal loft storage with floor to ceiling closets.

This is a half-acre garden near the center of Towson, so it’s on the edge between urban and suburban. My dad, Wolfgang Oehme, designed the garden initially. After a change in ownership, I was asked to redesign much of the garden since it needed some help since it had been neglected. I designed and installed much of the planting that you see in the photos. I also redesigned the planting for the fish pond, butterfly garden in the rear, pollinator garden in the front, and I install annuals that fill the 9 pots at the front steps and rear deck and patio. I also have designed many fruiting trees and shrubs throughout. I continue to oversee the maintenance of this garden.

We took this dated Master Bathroom and leveraged its size to create a spa like space and experience. The expansive space features a large vanity with storage cabinets that feature SOLLiD Value Series – Tahoe Ash cabinets, Fairmont Designs Apron sinks, granite countertops and Tahoe Ash matching mirror frames for a modern rustic feel. The design is completed with Jeffrey Alexander by Hardware Resources Durham cabinet pulls that are a perfect touch to the design. We removed the glass block snail shower and the large tub deck and replaced them with a large walk-in shower and stand-alone bathtub to maximize the size and feel of the space. The floor tile is travertine and the shower is a mix of travertine and marble. The water closet is accented with Stikwood Reclaimed Weathered Wood to bring a little character to a usually neglected spot!

West or east, home is the best. Happy, warm, harmonious home is the dream and target of people. How to decorate our home is very important. We have the experience that the bedding we saw in emporium is beautiful, but the effect does not good when we bring it home. This is because we do not choose bedding according to the color collocation of our dream bedrooms. Here are some classic color collocation methods for you:
Color collocation of light with dark: when the main color of your dream bedroom is light, such as white, light color bedding will make your bedroom feel pale, ordinary and have no sense of color. On the contrary, dark or bright color bedding such as chocolate, purple, green, yellow will make your space full of vitality. The collocation of light and dark color gives people strong visual impact. So when your dream bedroom have dark color as its main tone, light or bright color like white, pink, red and yellow goes well with it. The space will feel depressing if you use dark color bedding.
Color collocation method of similar color: it means choose bedding with similar color to the main color of bedroom. For example, when the main color of your dream bedroom is purple, white bedding with few purple decoration patterns is good choice. There would be no layering if you use bedding in large area purple.
Collocation method of matching complex with simple: if the decoration style of bedroom is complex, concise and elegant bedding goes well with it, or the space will be disorderly and unsystematic.
The intensity of lighting: light intensity is the factor that people often neglect. Avoid using dark color bedding in bedroom with dark light.
The relationship of whole and part: the main color of bedroom is whole, bedding color is part. A guest cannot usurp the host's role. So does the bedding. There should be primary and secondary in bedroom color collocation. Bedding color only plays the role of embellishing.
Take all the elements in bedroom into consideration: all the elements in dream bedroom – wall, furniture, floor, and bedding – should be considered. They should be in consistent.
We all know that color has the function of mood adjustment. We should choose color according to our actually needs.
Green and purple is good to soothe the nerves and relax people. Patient with phobia and schizophrenia can choose the two colors.
Light saffron yellow, blue and pink can make people exciting, happy and full of hope. Depression and anxiety disorder patient can choose them.
Cyan is good to produce sleepiness. It suit for those insomniac.
Besides, warm color bedding with thicker fabric suit to use in winter and autumn for the decrease of temperature.

John's Landscape Service revived an overgrown and neglected backyard with an elevated patio and stone retaining wall to create a beautiful outdoor living space.

Rear of the home....Immense home left abandoned and neglected for years. The roof had caved in at one time and the 3rd floor had to be rebuilt. Dedication and expertise brought this home back to be the show piece it once was

Lincoln has a lot of woods, woods that have grown up in neglect and are mostly oaks with tall trunks. This habitat creates a dearth of habitat for birds and other edge-loving species. This owner wanted to encourage birds while keeping views to neighbors' yards minimal, and have some large lawn play area that didn't look out of place. We created lobes of lawn within the woods, two large bean-shaped rooms with lots of edge and plant species for supporting birds.

This American Foursquare built in the early 1900’s needed a complete restoration. The back two story porch was rotten from years of neglect and needed to be torn down and completely rebuilt. Inside, the kitchen and bathrooms needed full renovations, and the trunk room was turned into the master bath in order to create a true master suite. Piperbear also handled the staging and assisted with the marketing of the property.
