This table set melds precision mathematics and procedural computation with the appearance of organic form. When put together, the 6 unique components form a simple rectangular low coffee table. When separated, the odd shapes of the components are evident and they can be used as end tables, benches, or sculptural objects. We developed the forms as a 3-dimensional Voronoi tessellation, an algorithm that permits nuanced formal variations. The basic components are made with precision CNC-cut sheets of Baltic Birch, laminated horizontally with exposed plywood edges, but the edges are shaped by hand to create subtle variations and unique features to each set.

In this project, we used Limewash paint as an accent wall. Limewash paint is known for its chalky, nuanced texture, which creates a romantic old-world feel. It’s made from crushed limestone fired at very high temperatures, mixed with water, and colored with natural pigments. Though trendy, it’s not new. Limewash paint has a deeply rooted history as one of the first-ever house paints emerging from the Roman and Mediterranean regions.

The entryway serves as a vibrant introduction to the home’s narrative, immediately establishing the project’s theme of expressive individuality. An elegant marble-topped console with a sculptural brass base provides a refined anchor, but the true focal point is the kaleidoscopic abstract artwork, which introduces a deliberate burst of energy and depth.
The arrangement of organic florals in a soft lavender vase—an intentional echo of the palette found in the adjoining living spaces—creates a sense of quiet continuity. It is a transitional moment that feels curated and celebratory, offering an artful welcome that reflects the owners' personal journey and their nuanced approach to modern city living.

The three-level Mediterranean revival home started as a 1930s summer cottage that expanded downward and upward over time. We used a clean, crisp white wall plaster with bronze hardware throughout the interiors to give the house continuity. A neutral color palette and minimalist furnishings create a sense of calm restraint. Subtle and nuanced textures and variations in tints add visual interest. The stair risers from the living room to the primary suite are hand-painted terra cotta tile in gray and off-white. We used the same tile resource in the kitchen for the island's toe kick.
