Cascadia Edible LandscapesThis was a complete front yard overhaul from 2015.
Existing conditions included a 110' L x 8't x 8' W laurel hedge, and some shoddy grass.
We scraped the site clean, imported close to 60 cubic yards of compost and nutrient mulch, and had to amend the soil. We planted 6 fruit trees (Asian pears, cherry, plums, and apples).
We planted blueberries, strawberries, lingberries, elderberries, serviceberries, currants, jostaberries, Strawberry Tree (Arbutus unedo), and much more. We planted over 2 dozen variety of culinary and medicinal herb plants, and along the street did a mixture of sedums, grasses, and other drought tolerant plants. Along the garage #2, we set up a simple trellis for a passion flower.

Working with our clients’ wish to eliminate their existing pool, we sited and designed a new spa, pathways, and seating area with a millstone fountain that fits the bucolic feeling of the site. New plantings were designed to attract birds and butterflies.
