This modern kitchen design is a sleek, stylish space that is sure to be the center of attention in this Gainesville home. Eclipse by Shiloh slab white perimeter cabinets give the kitchen a sleek appearance, and include acrylic inserts in the upper cabinets. The kitchen island is in a contrasting dark wood tone, beautifully complemented by a white and gray Caesarstone double waterfall countertop that extends out to create a seating area with barstools. The island incorporates a large Galley Workstation with two single lever Galley Taps. The Galley has graphite accessories and a walnut chopping block. A countertop knife block and Dacor induction cooktop are conveniently adjacent to the Galley. It's the perfect place to prepare food while family and friends sit across from you at the island. A second wash sink is situated along the perimeter with a pull-down spray faucet. A set of Subzero freezer drawers as well as a 30” Dacor Refrigerator Column are neatly tucked away behind cabinet panels. The design also includes a separate beverage station with a Subzero undercounter beverage refrigerator and a coffee station, that can be closed off by a pull down cabinet door when not in use. The bright, airy atmosphere in this kitchen design carries through in the white marble backsplash and open shelves above the perimeter sink. The entire design is finished off with a gray porcelain tile floor that beautifully pulls together the entire design.

Our clients came to us wanting to update and open up their kitchen, breakfast nook, wet bar, and den. They wanted a cleaner look without clutter but didn’t want to go with an all-white kitchen, fearing it’s too trendy. Their kitchen was not utilized well and was not aesthetically appealing; it was very ornate and dark. The cooktop was too far back in the kitchen towards the butler’s pantry, making it awkward when cooking, so they knew they wanted that moved. The rest was left up to our designer to overcome these obstacles and give them their dream kitchen. We gutted the kitchen cabinets, including the built-in china cabinet and all finishes. The pony wall that once separated the kitchen from the den (and also housed the sink, dishwasher, and ice maker) was removed, and those appliances were relocated to the new large island, which had a ton of storage and a 15” overhang for bar seating. Beautiful aged brass Quebec 6-light pendants were hung above the island. All cabinets were replaced and drawers were designed to maximize storage. The Eclipse “Greensboro” cabinetry was painted gray with satin brass Emtek Mod Hex “Urban Modern” pulls. A large banquet seating area was added where the stand-alone kitchen table once sat. The main wall was covered with 20x20 white Golwoo tile. The backsplash in the kitchen and the banquette accent tile was a contemporary coordinating Tempesta Neve polished Wheaton mosaic marble. In the wet bar, they wanted to completely gut and replace everything! The overhang was useless and it was closed off with a large bar that they wanted to be opened up, so we leveled out the ceilings and filled in the original doorway into the bar in order for the flow into the kitchen and living room more natural. We gutted all cabinets, plumbing, appliances, light fixtures, and the pass-through pony wall. A beautiful backsplash was installed using Nova Hex Graphite ceramic mosaic 5x5 tile. A 15” overhang was added at the counter for bar seating. In the den, they hated the brick fireplace and wanted a less rustic look. The original mantel was very bulky and dark, whereas they preferred a more rectangular firebox opening, if possible. We removed the fireplace and surrounding hearth, brick, and trim, as well as the built-in cabinets. The new fireplace was flush with the wall and surrounded with Tempesta Neve Polished Marble 8x20 installed in a Herringbone pattern. The TV was hung above the fireplace and floating shelves were added to the surrounding walls for photographs and artwork. They wanted to completely gut and replace everything in the powder bath, so we started by adding blocking in the wall for the new floating cabinet and a white vessel sink. Black Boardwalk Charcoal Hex Porcelain mosaic 2x2 tile was used on the bathroom floor; coordinating with a contemporary “Cleopatra Silver Amalfi” black glass 2x4 mosaic wall tile. Two Schoolhouse Electric “Isaac” short arm brass sconces were added above the aged brass metal framed hexagon mirror. The countertops used in here, as well as the kitchen and bar, were Elements quartz “White Lightning.” We refinished all existing wood floors downstairs with hand scraped with the grain. Our clients absolutely love their new space with its ease of organization and functionality.

Complete Kitchen Remodel by Hatfield Builders, Chad Hatfield CR, CKBR, NARI and Interior Design by Lindy Jo Crutchfield, Allied ASID. Hatfield Builders gutted and scraped the old kitchen back to the studs, installed new materials, fixtures, appliances and added a fresh coat of paint. Cabinetry is a prefinished, inset, shaker design from Canyon Creek Cabinet Company, which is run to the top of the 10' ceiling. Mocha Ceasarstone runs the perimeter of the Kitchen while a beautiful granite marbled with grays, caramels, whites and creams is the centerpiece of the room. Sophisticated and clean 12x24 tiles run on the floor in a brick pattern, while 3x6 subway tiles set off the dark perimeter countertops. A lantern-style, cream mosaic washed with a hint of milk chocolate and green set off the gorgeous Wolf range. This Kitchen is truly one to behold.

This French country, new construction home features a circular first-floor layout that connects from great room to kitchen and breakfast room, then on to the dining room via a small area that turned out to be ideal for a fully functional bar. Directly off the kitchen and leading to the dining room, this space is perfectly located for making and serving cocktails whenever the family entertains. In order to make the space feel as open and welcoming as possible while connecting it visually with the kitchen, glass cabinet doors and custom-designed, leaded-glass column cabinetry and millwork archway help the spaces flow together and bring in. The space is small and tight, so it was critical to make it feel larger and more open. Leaded-glass cabinetry throughout provided the airy feel we were looking for, while showing off sparkling glassware and serving pieces. These homeowners came to J.P. Hoffman Design Build, looking for a creative solution to a problem they were told couldn’t be fixed. We defied the odds with our Design Build process and redesigned most of this Colonial’s first floor. Space for an island was number one on the want list. In order to achieve that goal, we did what we always do, We listened. We listened to what our client needed, how they used their space and how they envisioned their space. Then we designed a creative solution that made that seemingly unachievable vision, a reality. We removed the wall between the dining room and kitchen and expanded the kitchen cabinets into the hallway, once used to access the bathroom and garage. We simply re-routed the flow to the garage, through the now opened-up dining room, and in the process, created a new hallway with a coat closet, mudroom bench and access to the powder room which we also refreshed. In the kitchen, we relocated the slider leading out to the deck. This allowed for more cabinets and the floor space for that dream island. Our carpentry team installed a new kitchen window and slider, while modifying the existing deck to allow for the change. We installed new flooring, cabinets, countertops, plumbing fixtures and more. We receive lots of inquires about increasing function within the first floor. This project is a fantastic example of how it can be achieved, without an addition.
