This bedroom uses bright white and neutral colors, paired with eclectic, ethnic details to reflect the client’s travels and personal tastes. Woven wood blinds and a wicker ceiling fan set the backdrop for a black lacquered chair upholstered in an ethnic print. African night stands, foot stools and lamps, all from the client’s own collection, dovetail with the dark walnut hardwood flooring and zebra rug. A bench covered in grass textile sets off the African textile shams, sheer bedskirt and faux fur leopard blanket. The headboard is made of old African doors from the client’s own collection.

With five children in the house at the time, Raymond and Jennifer immediately recognized the need for their own floor and claimed the third story for themselves. "It's definitely so high up that it makes it easy to get away," Jennifer explains. "I open the windows that face the lake and just listen to the waves break, and catch a minute." The palladian window is generously sized, filling the room with light and the sounds of nature. The headboard was another piece salvaged and put to a new use. The old barn door was purchased from Jennifer's friend that was moving her store front and no longer had use for it. Seeing its potential, Jennifer and her sister committed to a two-hour journey of getting the door up to the top floor. Inspiration for a timeless dark wood floor bedroom remodel in Dallas with beige walls

We made space for this King Sized bed by moving the windows to the sides of the walls. Mirrored furniture accented the client's existing antique pieces and a striped wool area rug keep the toes warm in the winter months. With sink drapes and a silk comforter, it's very luxurious.
