We are thrilled to unveil our latest bathroom remodeling project, a seamless blend of modern design and functional elegance. Here's a glimpse into the transformation:
1. Contemporary Palette: The choice of a grey color tile sets a sophisticated and neutral backdrop, allowing the features of the bathroom to shine. This hue not only exudes a sense of calm but also complements the contemporary design elements we've incorporated.
2. Warmth Underfoot: One of the standout features of this remodel is the heated flooring that runs under all the tiled areas. This luxurious addition ensures that even on the coldest mornings, your feet are greeted with a warm embrace, elevating the comfort level of the bathroom.
3. Enhanced Layout: Recognizing the need for more convenience, we repositioned the shower and introduced a second toilet room. This not only maximizes the use of space but also ensures that the bathroom can cater to multiple users without any hassle.
4. Dual Shower Spaces: By eliminating two angles in the bathroom's corner, we've carved out space for two distinct shower areas. This design choice not only adds a touch of luxury but also offers a versatile bathing experience tailored to individual preferences.
5. Wet Room Wonder: The shower and tub area now reside within a waterproof wet room. This innovative design ensures that water stays where it's supposed to, eliminating the need for a curb and offering a sleek, uninterrupted flow to the space.
6. Floating Vanities: Our floating vanities are more than just a design statement. They create an illusion of space, making the bathroom appear larger and more open. Paired with a stunning stone backsplash, they offer a perfect blend of style and functionality.
7. Illuminated Elegance: The mirrors, with their integrated lights, are the pièce de résistance. They not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the bathroom but also ensure optimal lighting, making daily grooming tasks a breeze.
This bathroom remodel is a testament to our commitment to marrying design with functionality. Every element, from the choice of tiles to the heated floors, has been thoughtfully chosen to create a space that is not just visually appealing but also supremely functional and comfortable. We invite you to step in and experience this modern oasis for yourself.

Connected to the kitchen, you'll discover a dining area designed for versatility. This multipurpose zone seamlessly integrates wine storage, pantry space, a dedicated baking center, cocktail preparation area, and a convenient coffee zone.
The main level's powder room pays homage to the homeowners' roots, boasting a vibrant wallpaper by Chasing Paper that adds a playful touch.

This project's final result exceeded even our vision for the space! This kitchen is part of a stunning traditional log home in Evergreen, CO. The original kitchen had some unique touches, but was dated and not a true reflection of our client. The existing kitchen felt dark despite an amazing amount of natural light, and the colors and textures of the cabinetry felt heavy and expired. The client wanted to keep with the traditional rustic aesthetic that is present throughout the rest of the home, but wanted a much brighter space and slightly more elegant appeal. Our scope included upgrades to just about everything: new semi-custom cabinetry, new quartz countertops, new paint, new light fixtures, new backsplash tile, and even a custom flue over the range. We kept the original flooring in tact, retained the original copper range hood, and maintained the same layout while optimizing light and function. The space is made brighter by a light cream primary cabinetry color, and additional feature lighting everywhere including in cabinets, under cabinets, and in toe kicks. The new kitchen island is made of knotty alder cabinetry and topped by Cambria quartz in Oakmoor. The dining table shares this same style of quartz and is surrounded by custom upholstered benches in Kravet's Cowhide suede. We introduced a new dramatic antler chandelier at the end of the island as well as Restoration Hardware accent lighting over the dining area and sconce lighting over the sink area open shelves. We utilized composite sinks in both the primary and bar locations, and accented these with farmhouse style bronze faucets. Stacked stone covers the backsplash, and a handmade elk mosaic adorns the space above the range for a custom look that is hard to ignore. We finished the space with a light copper paint color to add extra warmth and finished cabinetry with rustic bronze hardware. This project is breathtaking and we are so thrilled our client can enjoy this kitchen for many years to come!

4. New Lighting Fixtures:

A chic white picket hexagon backsplash with Carrara Breve accents adds a contemporary touch, while honey bronze and matte black hardware complement the stylish LVT flooring in ashy blonde hues. Looking for a peaceful retirement spot, these clients chose Poipu Crater for it’s coastal location and lush surroundings. Their love of bright, clear jewel tones inspired the direction for this remodel project. Choosing the main area rug was important, as it set the tone for the rest of the house. The rug is dramatic, with it’s overscaled floral in bright, happy hues, and brings a smile to the owner’s faces each time they walk into the room. Tropical botanical artwork is seen throughout the rooms, including some pieces by Kauai’s own Robin McCoy. Gorgeous fabrics also infuse the home with vibrant shades. This colorful palette is showcased with a neutral backdrop of textural finishes such as the whitewashed oak flooring, pebble stone bath flooring, and overscale white subway tiles in the showers. Metal finishes in brushed golds and dark bronze bring a richness and warmth to the scheme. The full kitchen redesign allows for better functionality while adding drama with height and scale. The stunning glass herringbone backsplash is a work of art in it’s own right and adds an element of surprise when you first enter the home. Textural “rock candy” glass pendant lights and crisp, white shaker cabinets make this room sparkle! To help with the desired clean and uncluttered look, storage was carefully planned in this home, and special details such as pop-out outlets above the night stands were added to keep things organized and to optimize functionality. This colorful, tropical oasis will be enjoyed for many years to come!

Situated in the heart of Wayne, this historical French Tower House was once used as a dormitory for the Valley Forge Academy to which it is adjacent. Originally built in 1921, this magnificent home offers plenty of character, including architecturally designed archways and curved walls, stained glass windows, brick walkways & beautiful gardens. Struck by the homes charm and character, our client purchased the home & immediately began renovations to optimize it for modern living.

The hallway’s narrow width allowed racks on one side, optimized to hold three wine bottles for every two pegs, providing space efficiency. Customizable peg arrangements suit various small modern wine cellars. Our Vancouver client desired a sophisticated yet peaceful setting to display her collection of Buddha's and Chinoiserie, so we created a transitional setting using clean lines mixed with traditional pieces and a variety of complimentary prints in soft tones of sea and teal blues for pillows.
Another stylized version of the quatrefoil is repeated in the linens in her master bedroom in blue and cream. The upholstered bed and shams are the perfect backdrop for the distinctive pattern. Layered tailored drapes and woven shades afford privacy, optimal light control and softness to all rooms and metallic accents add texture and dimension. The overall feel is a relaxed global chic!

Our client had recently purchased a townhouse by Frick Park and knew she wanted to upgrade the builder-grade kitchen to better meet her needs. We decided to work with the existing layout of the kitchen as we optimized storage and increased functionality of the space. One request made by our client was for the addition of an island, which became a focal point of the kitchen. We sourced a specific slab of natural stone for the countertop, which featured green veining that paired beautifully with the green cabinetry of the island.
The main kitchen area was updated with timeless cabinetry that featured a more muted paint color for a two-toned look, and recycled glass countertops requested specifically by our client. We also designed and built a multipurpose area for the wine refrigerator and microwave, and incorporated wall cabinets to display glassware and decor and increase storage. Custom lighting was also built into all cabinets and thoughtfully hidden for a seamless look.
Another aspect of the project was the installation of an elevator near the kitchen that allows our client to effortlessly travel from the first to the second and third floors as she ages in place in the home. The result was a home thoughtfully designed and built to serve our client for years to come.

This ground-level, forward-facing view highlights a premium residential driveway and front yard hardscaping transformation in Tucson, Arizona, designed and installed by Az Custom Landscapes LLC. The project showcases a clean, contemporary aesthetic that drastically upgrades the property's curb appeal while remaining highly durable for the desert climate.
The focal point is an expansive driveway meticulously constructed from high-density, interlocking concrete pavers in a striking charcoal and gray blend. The pavers are laid in a precise, geometric herringbone pattern, which maximizes load-bearing strength and structural stability for vehicle traffic. Framing the entire driveway is a crisp, contrasting dark soldier course border that defines the clean lines of the driveway.
Flanking the driveway is a low-maintenance, drought-tolerant desert landscape featuring a base of fine gravel, native ocotillo plants, and mature trees. The entire hardscape system is expertly graded to ensure optimal drainage and water runoff efficiency during Arizona’s seasonal monsoons.

Julian Hodges - Featured Project of the Month by Truitt & White
This month featured project brings you beautifully crafted gates and entryways from local craftsman Julian Hodges. For over 35 years, Mr. Hodges has been designing and crafting custom wooden gates in Berkeley and the greater Bay Area.
His projects mainly feature old growth, vertical grained redwood or western red cedar which is air or kiln dried. The gates are fully mortised and tenoned (male / female joints) and a very powerful epoxy is used to glue the parts together. Wherever a floating panel rides in a dado, drainage is provided in the form of several holes that are out of sight that allow any rain water to be ushered out at the bottom of the gate enabling the gate to dry itself rather than staying damp which otherwise could lead to long term decomposition of the wood.
Adding to the unique feel of each gate, Julian creates his own custom hardware from heavy gauge steel, which also provides a pleasing solid sound as it operates.
All gates are then finished in a penetrating oil seal which optimizes the longevity and good appearance of the gates.

As a part of a larger transformation, the kitchen served as an anchor for rethinking how the home could feel and function. The goal was to create a space that felt truly integrated, flowed naturally within itself, and connected seamlessly to the outdoors. Storage was a top priority, with an emphasis on keeping countertops clean and the space feeling calm and open. Flow was equally important. What began as a layout optimized for entertaining evolved into a more intentional approach, where every sightline and transition was thoughtfully considered. The clients also needed the kitchen to work hard for their lifestyle, with a commercial-size refrigerator and freezer, generous prep space, and room to gather. The challenge was to bring purpose and polish to a space that didn’t quite feel like it belonged. The result is a kitchen that’s not only highly functional but finally feels like part of the home.
Project challenges:
- Maximizing storage was a primary challenge, especially with the inclusion of a commercial-sized fridge and freezer that occupied valuable cabinetry space.
- The need for clean, uninterrupted lines throughout the kitchen required thoughtful detailing, especially around cabinetry transitions and appliance integration.
- The oversized island design required two stone slabs and waterfall edges on both sides which posed both visual and logistical challenges.
- Incorporating electrical outlets into the island in a way that felt intentional and unobtrusive demanded creative problem-solving.
- The unique rooflines created strong visual angles that required a considered design approach to ensure the space felt cohesive rather than disjointed.
- Balancing symmetry and flow in a kitchen with structural constraints required precise layout planning to maintain a cohesive visual rhythm.
- Creating an intentional indoor/outdoor living flow, especially in the transitional space between the sliding doors to the backyard and the kitchen.
Project solutions:
- To balance the visual weight of the commercial-grade fridge and freezer, we flanked the range and hood with full-height pocket cabinetry, which created symmetry while reclaiming storage space. We also took a look into internal organization and carefully mapped out where every kitchen item would live. This allowed us to make informed decisions about drawer versus door configurations, and when to incorporate features like roll-out shelving to maximize accessibility and function.
- Linear light fixtures above the island were chosen for their low visual impact, allowing sightlines to remain clear and emphasizing the thoughtful spatial layout.
- The oversized island was carefully executed using two coordinated slabs, with a subtle brass inlay detail between them to turn a logistical challenge into a design feature.
- Pop-up electrical outlets were integrated into the island to keep surfaces clutter-free while maintaining easy access, which combined form and function seamlessly.
- With multiple focal points and a peaked vaulted ceiling, layout precision was key. The island, hood, and adjacent staircase were all perfectly centered on the vault, creating a sense of alignment across the open space.
- In the transitional area between kitchen and backyard, we added a wet bar that visually and functionally connects the indoor space with the outdoors. This addition provides extra storage and creates a dedicated entertainment spot for guests, enhancing the overall flow and usability of the home.
