Completed in collaboration with Alison Hall Architect, this Spring 2025 project focused on creating a dedicated laundry space that improves both the functionality and organization of the home. The new laundry addition was carefully designed to maximize efficiency while complementing the home's existing architecture and style. Custom cabinetry, ample storage, durable surfaces, and a thoughtful layout transformed a routine household task into a more convenient and enjoyable experience. Every detail was selected to enhance usability, from optimized workspace planning to smart storage solutions that help keep the area clean and organized. The result is a bright, practical, and beautifully finished laundry room that supports the homeowners' daily needs while adding long-term value to the home.

A narrow room is optimally laid out for multi-purpose functions including entertaining with plenty of seating, quiet time with a warm fire and a good book, or simply enjoying the bright outdoors with a full wall of french doors and added transoms above. One of our main design goals with this new construction project was to create a comfortable family home with timeless lines that would allow for optimal flow & function for everyday living. Built as a spec home in the highly desirable Lakeview Heights neighbourhood of West Kelowna, the design needed to be broadly appealing to potential purchasers. We opted for a light and natural colour palette utilizing contemporary lines to create a welcoming and approachable feel throughout the home. With ample square footage - 3 Bedrooms, 4 Bathrooms on the upper floor, with a fully finished Basement, & Rental Suite, as well as above Garage Bonus Room - we were tasked with making revisions to the Architectural plans as needed to improve flow and function between the spaces. The Main Floor was specially re-designed to allow for a creation of a chef inspired, gourmet Kitchen with executive appliances, large Island, gas Range, and a very convenient Butler’s Pantry which sits beside the bright, open concept Living Room & Dining Room with floor-to-ceiling Fireplace. The re-designed outdoor entertaining space includes a spacious deck off the Kitchen, featuring an outdoor BBQ area with bar top counter to seat guests and relaxing conversation area. The home sold to a young family, and we’re told they love their new home.

Layout and Scope of Work We ingeniously reimagined the original layout of the house to meet the homeowner's specific requirements. This extensive scope of work includes structural modifications, additions, and optimization of existing spaces to maximize functionality and establish a seamless flow within the home. We created significant and life-changing additional space without the extra time or expense of having to go through a minor variance with the city. The kitchen was the main focus of the renovation and included a significant floorplan reconfiguration. The larger kitchen now boasts a spacious island, complete with a bar sink, microwave drawer, wine fridge, and high-end appliances. The addition of a quartz Caesarstone rugged concrete countertop and a striking rebel-tiled fireplace in the living room further accentuates the contemporary design on the main floor. The primary suite, encompassing a bedroom, a wet-style ensuite with heated floors, and a dressing room, showcases an open-concept layout. Upstairs, we expanded the family's living options and offered private places by adding a fourth upstairs bedroom and private home office.

Shingle Style Home featuring Bevolo Lighting. Perfect for a family, this shingle-style home offers ample play zones complemented by tucked-away areas. With the residence’s full scale only apparent from the back, Harrison Design’s concept optimizes water views. The living room connects with the open kitchen via the dining area, distinguished by its vaulted ceiling and expansive windows. An octagonal-shaped tower with a domed ceiling serves as an office and lounge. Much of the upstairs design is oriented toward the children, with a two-level recreation area, including an indoor climbing wall. A side wing offers a live-in suite for a nanny or grandparents.

Looking for a complete renovation to create their Mediterranean style kitchen into a modern, luxurious yet functional kitchen for entertaining, the perimeter cabinetry features the Pescara door style finished in Matte French Biscuit on Rift Cut White Oak, including custom dishwasher, wine and refrigerator panels. For this project, our homeowners’ bathroom was dark and gloomy – builders-grade that was no fun to use. Small, dark shower, old oak vanities, drop in tub with tile surround. She desired to have a bath with a spa feel, so taking baths and showers and preparing for the day would be more enjoyable. EKB Home redesigned the layout to include a curbless, walk in shower with body sprays, wand, rain head, and fixtures (in matte black) for optimal shower enjoyment. We then designed and placed this free standing bathtub with bottle shelf behind and focal light fixture above. Our custom floating vanities – with integrated lighting – were then built and installed and include several pull-out elements for enhanced storage and function. We then selected this mosaic tile for behind the new mirrors and sconces, along with the large format tiles for the floor. A complete transformation that thrills our homeowner. As happens with a majority of our remodels, our client hired us 2 years later to have us remodel her kitchen, laundry, pantry, two guest baths, dining room, and bar!
