Elegant brown floor laundry room photo in Detroit with a farmhouse sink, shaker cabinets, dark wood cabinets, beige walls and a side-by-side washer/dryer

For the art, I chose that was graphic and bold. There's a youthful feeling with original art and the arrangement creates a focal point for the room while balancing the large screen TV. Lucite, soft edges and texture dominate while the layout is well thought out for the creature comforts of everyday living.
Even though space was limited, I was still able to include comfortable seating for pre-theatre or dinner gatherings. Count them…the sofa holds 3, 2 Ottomans, the 3 lucite bright yellow bar stools, the lounge chair, 2 side chairs, the upholstered chair by the waterfall desk and if you add the 4 chairs for the dining area, you're at 16, and this doesn’t count the custom coffee table with upholstered seating!

This home in the upscale Dominion area was completely transformed from an outdated rustic interior to a fresh and modern space! The kitchen has an upgraded island with Taj Mahal waterfall panels and mitered edges, similar to the rest of the kitchen Taj Mahal quartzite countertops and backsplash. The existing perimeter cabinets in the kitchen were painted a classic white lacquer finish. A new dual finish Blue Star vent hood was installed, along with gorgeous matching brass knobs and faucets.
The kitchen flooring is white oak herringbone pattern hardwood which flows throughout the house. The entryway has a brand new iron pivot door making for a seamless transition into the home.
This homeowner's guest bathroom was completely gutted and replaced with a quartz countertop, wainscoting dolomite tile on bathroom walls, and mother of pearl floor tile. The connecting guest bedroom was completely repainted and given a brand new look with bright blue and white wallpaper.
The powder room is to die for, with gold and black accents, a gorgeous new moss green vanity, and a black quartzite countertop with an golden under-mount sink.
Lastly, we completed the home bar area, installing a antiqued backsplash and custom lit floating shelves, perfect for keeping the homeowner's liquor of choice. It's 5 o'clock somewhere!

Klopf Architecture completely remodeled this once dark Eichler house in Palo Alto creating a more open, bright and functional family home. The reconfigured great room with new full height windows and sliding glass doors blends the indoors with the newly landscaped patio and seating areas outside. The former galley kitchen was relocated and was opened up to have clear sight lines through the great room and out to the patios and yard, including a large island and a beautiful walnut bar countertop with seating. An integrated small front addition was added allowing for a more spacious master bath and hall bath layouts. With the removal of the old brick fireplace, larger sliding glass doors and multiple skylights now flood the home with natural light.
The goals were to work within the Eichler style while creating a more open, indoor-outdoor flow and functional spaces, as well as a more efficient building envelope including a well insulated roof, providing solutions that many Eichler homeowners appreciate. The original entryway lacked unique details; the clients desired a more gracious front approach. The historic Eichler color palette was used to create a modern updated front facade.
Durable grey porcelain floor tiles unify the entire home, creating a continuous flow. They, along with white walls, provide a backdrop for the unique elements and materials to stand on their own, such as the brightly colored mosaic tiles, the walnut bar and furniture, and stained ceiling boards. A secondary living space was extended out to the patio with the addition of a bench and additional seating.
This Single family Eichler 4 bedroom 2 bath remodel is located in the heart of the Silicon Valley.

A design for a Prairie Style handrail with self-lit posts for nighttime illumination. The stair and home were existing - contrasting color on home was switched from muddy brown to dark bronze, better matching the brick. Railing post were designed to compliment the existing exterior lighting from Hubbardton Forge.

This little laundry room uses hidden tricks to modernize and maximize limited space. The main wall features bumped out upper cabinets above the washing machine for increased storage and easy access. Next to the cabinets are open shelves that allow space for the air vent on the back wall. This fan was faux painted to match the cabinets - blending in so well you wouldn’t even know it’s there!
Between the cabinetry and blue fantasy marble countertop sits a luxuriously tiled backsplash. This beautiful backsplash hides the door to necessary valves, its outline barely visible while allowing easy access.
Making the room brighter are light, textured walls, under cabinet, and updated lighting. Though you can’t see it in the photos, one more trick was used: the door was changed to smaller french doors, so when open, they are not in the middle of the room. Door backs are covered in the same wallpaper as the rest of the room - making the doors look like part of the room, and increasing available space.

We completely gut renovated this pre-war Tribeca apartment but kept some of it's charm and history in tact! The building, which was built in the early 1900's, was home to different executive office operations and the original hallways had a beautiful and intricate mosaic floor pattern. To that point we decided to preserve the existing mosaic flooring and incorporate it into the new design. The open concept kitchen with cantilevered dining table top keeps the area feeling light and bright, casual and not stuffy. Additionally, the custom designed swing arm pendant light helps marry the dining table top area to that of the island.

Custom built-in entertainment center in the same house as the custom built-in window seat project that was posted in 2019. This project is 11-1/2 feet wide x 18 inches deep x 8 feet high. It consists of two 36" wide end base cabinets and a 66" wide center base cabinet with an open component compartment. The base cabinets have soft-close door hinges with 3-way cam adjustments and adjustable shelves. The base cabinet near the doorway includes custom-made ducting to re-route the HVAC air flow from a floor vent out through the toe kick panel. Above the base countertop are side and overhead book/display cases trimmed with crown molding. The TV is mounted on a wall bracket that extends and tilts, and in-wall electrical and HDMI cables connect the TV to power and components via a wall box at the back of the component compartment.
