This table set melds precision mathematics and procedural computation with the appearance of organic form. When put together, the 6 unique components form a simple rectangular low coffee table. When separated, the odd shapes of the components are evident and they can be used as end tables, benches, or sculptural objects. We developed the forms as a 3-dimensional Voronoi tessellation, an algorithm that permits nuanced formal variations. The basic components are made with precision CNC-cut sheets of Baltic Birch, laminated horizontally with exposed plywood edges, but the edges are shaped by hand to create subtle variations and unique features to each set.

This island has a 24" diameter granite lazy-susan on a large ball bearing ring. It works best for sharing dishes from the work area to the seating area but also serves as a great place to access horderves and dips.

These side by side windows are in situ separated by the living room fireplace. The windows face the extensive garden and glass was chosen to allow the outside to interact with the inside.

This Campbell home underwent a full renovation and addition, expanding the kitchen footprint into the rear yard with a new high ceiling and striking glass wall for an indoor/outdoor feel. The style of the home is Japandi, with soft and warm minimalist design elements throughout.

Dining room - contemporary light wood floor dining room idea in Los Angeles with white walls and a corner fireplace

The staircase from the fire pit area to the natural space below is made of locally-sourced basalt treads framed by basalt boulders and columns. The native fescue on the hillside is left unmown to form sweeping organic shapes.

Our Clients were looking for a backyard solution for entertaining guests. We fulfilled that request by adding a beautiful free formed stamped and stained concrete patio with a contrasting border, a flagstone trim and a limestone retaining wall. They couldn't have been happier with the end result. It's a beauty!!

The number one style favorite - Organ Modern I created this CAD design (no AI) in Organic Modern, a popular style that uses natural materials and finishes. This room shows many beautiful elements of Organic Modern, including seating with soft curves, a stone coffee table, light wood floors, a modern dining table and chairs, and a beamed ceiling.

This homage to prairie style architecture located at The Rim Golf Club in Payson, Arizona was designed for owner/builder/landscaper Tom Beck. This home appears literally fastened to the site by way of both careful design as well as a lichen-loving organic material palatte. Forged from a weathering steel roof (aka Cor-Ten), hand-formed cedar beams, laser cut steel fasteners, and a rugged stacked stone veneer base, this home is the ideal northern Arizona getaway. Expansive covered terraces offer views of the Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish designed golf course, the largest stand of Ponderosa Pines in the US, as well as the majestic Mogollon Rim and Stewart Mountains, making this an ideal place to beat the heat of the Valley of the Sun. Designing a personal dwelling for a builder is always an honor for us. Thanks, Tom, for the opportunity to share your vision. Project Details | Northern Exposure, The Rim – Payson, AZ Architect: C.P.
