The Manta House as viewed from above showing the organic lines of the design, which is both grounded to the hill and floats free on the left hand side. The natural forms harmonize effectively with the surrounding natural environment. Visibility of the home from above was a consideration as well as from below.

This breathtaking double-height entry foyer makes a bold statement with its warm minimalism and striking architectural details. Dramatic ceilings create an open, airy feel in the grand space. Underfoot, sprawling stark travertine tile floors establish the home's clean, contemporary aesthetic. The neutral travertine's rich neutral tones and organic veining add lovely warmth and texture. The showstopping focal point is the stunning console table - an exquisite custom piece that is truly a sculptural work of art. The sinuous, organic form contrasts beautifully with the entry's crisp lines. Despite its minimalist color palette of warm whites, grays, and naturals, the entry feels warm and welcoming. Thoughtful layering of organic textures, sculptural forms, and tailored details epitomize this home's transitional design brilliance.

Inspiration for a contemporary home design remodel in San Diego

This table set melds precision mathematics and procedural computation with the appearance of organic form. When put together, the 6 unique components form a simple rectangular low coffee table. When separated, the odd shapes of the components are evident and they can be used as end tables, benches, or sculptural objects. We developed the forms as a 3-dimensional Voronoi tessellation, an algorithm that permits nuanced formal variations. The basic components are made with precision CNC-cut sheets of Baltic Birch, laminated horizontally with exposed plywood edges, but the edges are shaped by hand to create subtle variations and unique features to each set.
