Vienna-based architect and interior designer Denis Košutić redesigned the interior of a Baroque Austrian Palace providing a history-rich landmark with a modern twist and turning it into a cheerful, exuberant place. The sensation overload this interior conveys can be overwhelming, like a fine impressionist painting, but as soon as you start joining all the details together it transposes into a wonderful visual design experience. The renewed interior architecture of this palace features a golden wallpaper, pink trendy curtains and exciting bright sofas with some of iconic pieces. The bonus room here was designed as a creative space, and we actually contracted the walls to be soundproof so the clients could rehearse in their own home! The main ask here was for bright colors and patterns to be incorporated into the design in a sophisticated way so they could come into the room for inspiration. We playfully worked the clients’ favorite colors (bright blues and yellows) in a harmonious way that’s inspiring without becoming a visual overload.

Extended roof overhang and northeastern exposure limits sun overload at the window, so there's no need for blinds or curtains. Instead, colorful art fills the approximately 12" high wall space over the window and focuses the eye on the garden view.

From drab to fab - doing a double-take on this once outdated kitchen. The Neace family came to us with what we term as the "oak dilemma" a house built in the 80's or 90's that is overloaded with oak trim, floors, panels, etc and typically feels very dark and has an orangish feel. We've had a lot of expereince with these updates and were able to provide some great solutions to refresh their kitchen within a limited budget. Refacing was a great option for this kitchen - they kept their floors, and granite countertop and we refaced the rest, adding a grey subway tile backsplash, new hardware and new appliances to transform this kitchen into something smart and beautiful.

This kitchen is inspired by the European style with its straight lines and curated design. No cabinets overload here, minimalism is of the essence! We made sure to optimise the space in order for it to be functional and light. However, this kitchen is far from boring with its curvy peninsula embellished with textured wood paneling, which is clearly the centerpiece of the room. It can be seen throughout the open area and creates a dynamic effect for the whole house. Appliances are strategically placed on the wall facing the sink and window so they are hidden, yet accessible. The coffee cabinet with pocket doors can conceal small appliances or display a bistro look if desired. Lastly, the wooden shelves beautifully complete the look by adding warmth to this refined kitchen.
