Norman Building has done several remodeling jobs for us. Without doubt they are the best in town. They have highest quality personnel, fair prices, and finish each job with great efficiency and effectiveness.

Starting with conceptual discussions, placement on lot, design, construction, interior design features, and after build support, everyone on their team is there every step of the way. They are sensitive to their clients expectations and are flexible to help meet those needs during all phases of the project. In addition, their in-house custom cabinetry, doors, and wood furniture rounds out their professional capabilities.

A few years ago we purchased a home in Bend that was originally built by Norman Building in 1997. Before we moved into the home we wanted to updated the kitchen and master bathroom. To make the house more age-in-place friendly, we raised the floor in the living room, widened several doorways, added a mud room off the garage and generally "freshened up" the spaces. The kitchen and master bath were gutted and redesigned. The new design exceeded my expectations. The project manager, Sean Joyce and all the NBD team were very responsive, maintained an open channel of communication and answered all my questions. Although I visited the project site regularly, the team kept me apprised of the remodeling status. Most of all, the quality of work of NBD and their subs was outstanding. The cabinetry is beautiful. I would definitely recommend NBD without hesitation. I added one before photo and 2 after remodel photos.

We first met the Norman team during a time that we were looking at homes while considering a move to Central Oregon. Although we did not want to buy the house we looked at, we were very interested in the empty lot for sale on the same street with a beautiful view of the Cascades, and Whychus Creek. So, our realtor introduced us to Greg Garrick with NBD. (There were a lot of moving parts and will try to describe without writing a novel). That day, Greg invited us to see Norman's 2015 Tour Home. We loved everything about the home, and the next day Jim Norman and Greg met us at the lot we wanted to purchase. Jim and Greg said buy this fantastic lot and we can build you a great house. Greg continued to show us several homes they were building. Greg also showed us several previously finished Norman homes What really stood out to us - the homes looked brand new inside and out 10 + years later. We also spoke to former clients - all said it was a great experience and a dream to work with them. We interviewed other builders who could do a good job, but none had the family feel of working with the Norman team. The combination of seeing, asking questions, learning the process of building a home led us to the decision to sign up. We started the process with Jim Norman's design of our home, based on our input and desires. Along the way, we visited several homes that were the same style of home we were interested in, further helping us realize what we wanted. Something fun and unexpected - Jim had many state-of -the -art features planned in like heated floors, automatic lighting in closets, and home automation. The Norman team lead us through all the decisions that were required. We continued to visit job sites to see construction techniques and materials used to finalize what we wanted to use for our home. Something else that stood out is how much they all care about what they are doing. We never had to worry about anything. It was such a wonderful experience! We were not present for most of the initial excavation and framing but lived in the area for the last half as the interior took shape. We met regularly with Ron, Kerri (interior design) and John (cabinet department) at the office and job site. We think Kerri is the best of the best at what she does. Our home was in the 2019 Tour of Homes and 1 award (among several) was best interior design. What Kerri does goes way beyond interior decorating. Kerri and Ron were the leaders of our project. We also loved working with John who heads the cabinet department. John went over everything, outlining in great detail for us exactly what we would have. The cabinets are just beautiful. Visitors mention the cabinets more than anything else. Those meetings with Ron, Kerri and John were fun!! The job sites are kept clean, Our project leader Ron Norman was on site every day. Ron is good at 'driving' the project and keeping everything moving forward. If we needed something, Ron immediately took care of it. Never any unhappiness or disappointment with the construction or the process. What we found reassuring is Ron seemed to know every inch of our home. Anything we wanted to know about we asked him. The subs on the job were always friendly and willing to share their craft with us. Most, if not all, shared what they liked about our home. Our neighbors were impressed because the job progressed every single day during the week, and sometimes on weekends. Other jobs in the area were vacant for long stretches of time waiting for subs. It was fun to work with Norman! Our home is so solid and very beautiful. Norman Building is very proud of the finished product, and so are we!! It is a gem just outside of Sisters that captures exactly what we wanted - a beautiful, cozy, timeless NW lodge style home that also captured all that the lot and view had to offer. Job well done.

I saw a wonderfully built Norman home a couple of years ago so kept an eye out for when one came on the market. The Norman home I bought was built 15 years ago and so I asked them do some updates (flooring, finishes) for me so that it would better suit my style and tastes. They were wonderful to work with - very clear and communicative and the quality and professionalism were top notch. Now that I'm in it, the house is gorgeous and lives beautifully.

My husband and I chose Norman Building and Design to plan and build our retirement home in February, 1997, which sounds long ago, but the house still looks and feel "new". For twenty years now the people of Norman Building have stood by every aspect of their work, and they are not only excellent craftsmen, but wonderful people to work with. They always go above and beyond for their clients. I would give them the highest recommendation.

Planning retirement is a big undertaking, especially when it requires relocating to another state. We were so blessed to meet Norman Building & Design. It has been as if we have family already in our new community and we haven’t yet broken ground. The staff at NBD is friendly, professional, eager to help and please. They show great pride in the services they provide, as if each home was their’s individually. From the design process, bidding the job and working with the Homeowner Associations and more as required to kick off the project. It does not get any better than Norman Building & Design. As a custom flooring provider in a third generation, 60 year old company we have had the honor of working with hundreds of high end custom home builders but none can touch Norman Building & Design.

We just moved into our new Norman built home and could not be happier! The entire process from to design to the finished product was a total pleasure. The entire staff is so professional, talented and supportive. Every person who saw our home during any stage of construction was completely impressed by the quality of the materials being used and the quality of the construction. Before selecting a builder we had been told that the bid from Norman would come in higher than some builders, but the price would not change unless we made changes - which is not the case with most builders. We did have change orders, but they were all extras we asked for along the way. We were also told that they will deliver on the date that they say, barring any major unforeseen issues, and they did. Others who have Norman homes have told us that they will be here for us going forward too, so we are truly happy and satisfied customers! While we view this home as our last, we would definitely build with The Norman team if we ever planned another home.

If someone was to ask me what our building experience was like working with Norman Building & Design (NB&D) I'd use the words; professional, amazing finished product, outstanding customer services, detail oriented, creative, seamless and FUN! We were treated like family, but also like valued clients. No request was to big or to small. The care and customer service doesn't stop when you get your keys. NB&D is there to help with projects once you move in. The homes built by NB&D are quality, solid, beautiful and built to last. The entire team at Norman made our experience of having our home designed and built while we lived 1600 miles away exciting and stress free. From the time we met face to face with the design, construction, and interior design teams till the completion of our home, each team member listened to our needs, preferences, and desires and responded with a home beyond our expectations. Our communications with the Norman teams was exceptional and as frequent as necessary to accomplish the various phases of design and construction, including detailed drawings, computer renderings, biweekly photos of the progress and video conferences covering major decision points on our project timeline. Working with Norman Building and Design on our dream home was probably the best year of my life. Watching true craftspeople create well designed homes was amazing, fun and also humbling.
