Renovated during the pandemic, this whole house renovation was renewed from top to bottom and included every area of the home. We began by removing walls on the 1st floor and closed in the opening on the 2nd floor. All the rooms were demolished and made way for new finishes that involved the 4 bathrooms, laundry, kitchen, bedrooms, and living areas. The bathrooms all involved heated flooring, towel warmers, and Schluter waterproofing systems. All the trades persevered during the Pandemic, and the end result was stunning!

The salvaged and restored work bench from the garage turned into a fun solution for this home office set up that is adjacent and open to the guest house. Who would have known how coveted of a space this would prove to be when the pandemic hit just 3 months after wrapping this project up.

Natural materials like terracotta, breathable linens, and vintage rugs create a layered, lived-in family home. We designed landscaping that acted as an outdoor entertaining space for multiple families which was especially needed in light of the pandemic restrictions.

All put together, a favorite family hangout. Once the pandemic subsides, gatherings will no doubt be expanded to include friends. :)

The 2021 Southern Living Idea House is inspiring on multiple levels—from the stunning location in Louisville, Kentucky overlooking the Ohio river, to the design-driven home that marries European countryside vibes with a timeless aesthetic. Dubbed the “forever home,” the concept was to design for all stages of life, with thoughtful spaces that meet the ever-evolving needs of families today. The 5,545-square-foot, Colonial Greek Revival Cottage-style home is located in The Breakers at Prospect community and is the collective effort of many. While it may have formerly been a trend to embrace open layout living spaces, following the pandemic families are seeking spaces in the home that feel separated, to allow for privacy. Rooms with clear intentions allow more options for areas in which to spend time, depending on your mood, and this home perfectly balances livable and lively ideas. Marvin products were chosen for this project to maximize the use of natural light, allow airflow from outdoors to indoors, and provide expansive views that overlook the Ohio River. This artistic and design-forward family approached us at the beginning of the pandemic with a design prompt to blend their love of midcentury modern design with their Caribbean roots. With her parents originating from Trinidad & Tobago and his parents from Jamaica, they wanted their home to be an authentic representation of their heritage, with a midcentury modern twist. We found inspiration from a colorful Trinidad & Tobago tourism poster that they already owned and carried the tropical colors throughout the house — rich blues in the main bathroom, deep greens and oranges in the powder bathroom, mustard yellow in the dining room and guest bathroom, and sage green in the kitchen. This project was featured on Dwell in January 2022.

Prior to COVID-19, this space was a bypass closet in a spare bedroom. After the pandemic started, the owner was working from home and needed an inexpensive home office. Problem solved. Added a desk height workspace, and some shelving. Electric for the computer and phone!

We replaced a navy sofa within two weeks - even during pandemic shortages! Our floor lamp and teal stained teak table make the room unique.

The COVID 19 Pandemic has changed the way we learn, and it also changes how we serve. These projects combine long range Wi-Fi systems, solar power, and online courses to provide education in remote areas where there are no established schools.
